Estonian here, they usually show up moderately green in the store, oftentimes they'll still have the yellows from the last batch out when they bring in the fresh green ones. I prefer them a little green, I don't actually like yellow.

There are many varieties of banana. Some are this green even when they are ripe. But I do not know if they are available in the US.
