This is probably the single thing that got me to switch to Firefox. Privacy whatever, I don’t care about my data or the morality of my tech company or whatever, but mess with my adblocker and goodbye.

But how can we really tell what’s AI content and enforce it? I feel like there’s only these tiny tell tales that are getting harder and harder to spot. It’s gotten to the point that legitimate content (certain writing styles and images) are getting “called out” as AI even if the image has been around longer than DALL-E has.

Not having children is one of the easiest ways to contribute to solving climate change, which is exactly why we should encourage it regardless of whether the person is also taking other steps to solve it (which we don’t know). Not having a child also saves 58 tons of CO2 emissions per year, so it’s one of the most effective things you can do to fight climate change too, so that simple action does a lot to fight for a better world.

Edit: in fact it’s worse for bus passengers as the Golden Gate Transit system relies heavily on timed transfers and many buses run once an hour, so even a 10 minute delay could cause bus passengers to miss their transfer and make them have to wait an hour.

A custom bike sounds expensive, I really wish there were more east-to-buy prebuilt options. Fat people are pretty common, they’re not a rare body shape or disability that should require a custom bike. And I do wish higher weight limit tires were more common, I’m not overweight myself but I sometimes heavily load my electric bike with cargo (and a trailer that pushes down on the rear axle), and occasionally I have problems with spokes breaking already. Bikes that can carry toddlers are becoming common fast, I wish heavy wheels were more standardized for both heavy people and cargo bikes.

First of all, it’s fine to write code on Windows. In fact, many companies have windows-only development workflows.

Second of all, many Linux programs also use standard shortcuts like Ctrl+S. Linux is more than Vim.

Is this budget for convincing the general public to support them, or convincing US politicians? Because if it’s the former I don’t see it working or anyone believing the lies. Bloomberg tried something similar to get into the democratic primary and I’m pretty sure he failed spectacularly.

But I’d bet it’s the latter, and I let buying US politicians will continue to be successful. Because if both republicans and democrats support Israel, even if the public hates them who else is there to vote for?

To be fair, the pandemic feels like it was ages ago. It was so long ago that the economy recovered, crashed again, companies reversed WFH policies, and are now apparently not enforcing RTO (at least that’s what I heard from a friend of a friend who works at Google).

But not everywhere has moved on at the same rate. In Wisconsin it feels like a distant memory, but in California the buses still have signs saying “masks strongly recommended but not required”
