I think the first time I heard "slide deck" was within the last few years. It was always a (PowerPoint) presentation. I heard "deck" on its own without context (something like "I'm making a deck") within probably the last 6-12 months and had no idea at the time what that person was talking about.

Steam Summer Sale 2026 Has Begun

Nothing is really jumping out to me.

I may do another run of cyberpunk during rainy season since it's about all my PC can do and upgrading is basically impossible right now.

I just finished my ~yearly run of Skyrim (with mods other than just skyui for the first time this time).

I used to play a lot of 7 Days, but they lost me when they started adding triggers in POIs that automatically alerted zombies, opened doors, etc. and TFP's general bullshit after that.

The only other two games I've played this year are Last Caretaker (it was alright but had too many performance issues and bugs at the time), and Peglin which I'm also kinda over.

Mine:

  • ends in not 00, so add whatever makes the ones digit a 9 (7 in this case).
  • make the cents even -> .20 (add .03)
  • go to 100 (add .80)

I think, anyway. I can mostly just look at it and know.

Japan launches first overnight Shinkansen bullet train between Tokyo and Osaka this summer

During this period, passengers will remain on board, with cabin lighting switched on throughout.

I thought that was a typo, but

室内灯は点灯したままとなる。

from Yomiuri. That does not sound fun. I mean, I can nap on the shinkansen most of the time, but I don't think I could sleep through the night like that.

They should bring back more sleeper trains instead.

Are you gonna be buying a Steam machine?

I was looking at the home page which just said 'sold out' under each one except the 512 w/ steam controller. This morning, they're all just listed as 'sold out'. No mention of a lottery anywhere there. It's not surprising, though, given so many things are lotteries here. Still, if that many people entered, I would expect it to functionally behave the same as being sold out since the lottery winners will presumably snap them all up.

I don't like her (to put it nicely), but I don't think she's that daft. It's basically meaningless stuff that's pandering to certain portions of the LDP base.

I doubt it with the flag (though tons of people fly the naval ensign today already, not just far right folks and nothing legally forbids doing so AFAIK) since this would have consequences with some of the biggest trade partners when the economy is already in trouble.

Edit: to be clear, I think this is a really dumb idea and don't agree with it.
