Has anyone seen Open Water 2: Adrift?

I have not seen the original Open Water but I wanted to watch this film because it's based on a short story by Koji Suzuki I really liked. After watching it, I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's basically stupid people get in trouble out at see and try to survive their own stupidity. I think I'd rather set sail on the S.S. Minnow than with these people. I read the source material and they have almost nothing in common except for one small thing.

::: spoiler Spoilers for the film and the short story The seashell that what's his name picked up out of the water is cursed I believe. In the original story; a yacht is found adrift with no people on board and it's reveled that a cursed sea shell made these people kill themselves or something. :::

The film was okay I guess. It's really soul sucking and sad if that's your thing. Have you seen it? What did you think? Let's talk about it.

Why use something other than SystemD?

I'll admit I have used Artix, Peppermint OS (Devuan), and Void Linux because I thought the idea of a SystemDless distro sounded cool. It wasn't because I had a problem with SystemD. It's more so that I love that numerous options exist for different system components. For me it's sad to see that certain features or applications require SystemD be present. I like SystemD, just to be clear. I also like the freedom to choose. Maybe, i'm missing something. What do y'all think? What do you use and why? If you use OpenRC or something, why? I'm guessing most people use SystemD and don't give it any thought which is fair.
