[DC] Together, no matter what. (GLITCH)
This is cute, but I think it would have been cuter to see a Jax/Koughmo/Ribbit reunion in the aquarium.

[DC] I need the big reveal explained like I'm 5. ****Spoilers inside****
I think the closest it really gets is the moment in the finale when Ribbit puts the bow on his(?) head and says "your secret's safe with me" and he blushes for a few seconds, and he said something "personal" to his mum that she didn't take well just beforehand. Nothing's really stated out loud, and I thought there was just as much of a chance he was just into cross-dressing until Gooseworx said it out loud on Bluesky.

[DC] Anon rants about Jax.
Despite a couple of words I wouldn't personally use, I actually agree with the broad strokes of this post, and I admire Amazing Digital Circus more for it! Jaxx is the antithesis of the main morals of the story - about opening up, showing vulnerability, and showing empathy to others when they do the same. While Pomni and the others took those lessons to heart, and grew to make genuine connections with one another, Jaxx doubled down on his(?) toxicity and cruelty for the whole show, and ended up seeing the irreversible consequences of that in a harrowing cautionary tale. I don't think the finale was ever supposed to make us feel bad for Jaxx or that his actions were justified.

Maybe? I didn't know Goose actually said that, and I'll have to look it up, but even assuming she did say that, I'm still not too bothered by it. Often characters that start off as self-inserts aren't one-to-one, and can develop into completely different characters over time. As a good example, the main writer of Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy based all three main characters off different sides of himself.

(episode 9 spoilers) I just need to present my love for one specific scene
Apparently the voice actors of Caine and the Moon are married irl, making it even more beautiful!

I just wanna say, thank you
Same - I remember seeing the thumbnail for the pilot and thinking it was AI or something, and ignoring it for months until some friends talked me into it! I'm so glad they did!

(Spoilers for episode 9) I need to talk about a specific scene
It's really beautiful to me knowing that both of them are just AI. Neither of them have any reason to communicate other than to accomplish a task or to entertain the people there, but there they are, just talking things out the same way almost the whole cast had been getting past their problems throughout the whole show!

Donald Trump says eight European countries(Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, The United Kingdom, The Netherlands, and Finland) face 10% tariff for opposing US control of Greenland
I have something of a game going on where every time the US peeves me off, I delete something that profits them.
Trump threatens Greenland? I delete Deviantart
Trump threatens Canada? I delete Reddit
The ICE shooting? I delete Instagram
After hearing about this I just deleted Brave Mobile and switched to Vivaldi. If it stays this consistent I'm going to have to save up for an Ubuntu Touch phone.

There is no ethical consumption of HBO’s Harry Potter series
Reply in thread
I'll bet she went on some YouTube rabbit hole sometime in COVID times. It's such a 180 from where she used to stand.
I re-read the first chapter of the first Harry Potter book (old book, I didn't give her any money) and it's all about how Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia hated Harry being a wizard because it wasn't normal, it didn't fit their idea of normal, and they wanted to be seen as normal more than any else, but Harry couldn't help being who he was. It's not hard to read a gay or trans allegory into that.

What phrases/sentences instantly reveal someone as a chud?
For me it's the term "that's what's wrong with society" and variations of it. There are a LOT of things wrong with society, and different countries, cities and regions have totally different problems. If you boil all these problems down to one thing, it's probably because you're obsessed with that one thing, not because it's actually caused all these other problems.

Starmer pulls Chagos bill after Trump backlash
The Chagos deal was going to be Starmer's favour to Trump. The UK was going to pay to keep using it, just to host the US base there. It was essentially another conservative mess for Labour to clean up, and another example of Trump having a strop about something that he had previously been in favour of. I say go ahead and pull it: this is the perfect opportunity to have another bill and keep the US out of this one.

Discord will require a face scan or ID for full access next month
Direct messages and servers that are not age-restricted will continue to function normally
So in other words, if you only use Discord as a messaging app and for small servers between friends, this won't affect you?
I honestly have no idea why Discord started trying to push itself as some normal social media like Facebook, and why people started treating it as such. Discord was a glorified telephone line with gifs and web links. I don't need some manufactured sense of "community" among thousands of people who happen to watch the same YouTuber as me.

*Permanently Deleted*
I'm not too worried at the moment. Lemmy is much newer and smaller than the social networks we're all used to, as well as being an open source social network. It makes a lot of sense that this site attracts a lot of like-minded people to it. Hopefully as more people join, we'll see more open (respectful) discussion.
On the flipside, the more people join Lemmy, the bigger of a target it'll be for bot farms and zone-flooding shenanigans, so maybe its smaller size and appeal to specific kinds of people isn't the worst thing in the world either?

Yeah, Aardman are very much still stop motion (with a few tiny cheats, the stadium audience in Early Man and the sea in Pirates on an Adventure with Scientists).

I view it as the right wing equivalent of a soyjak. A derogatory name (and drawing) for someone who's terminally online and politically obsessed.
