My wife really knows some really simple recipes that are delicious.

A few days ago she prepared some chopped up tomatoes, shallots, seasoned with a bit of salt. Loved it.

Last week when I asked her what she wanted for breakfast, she responded with rice and bacon, nothing else. Also loved it.

Our fluffy cat now considers the act of cutting anything is a sign that there's food.

So he meows loudly, and the next moment, everyone's gathered in the kitchen begging for tomatoes, bananas, and other vegetables. When we hold it in front of them, they would all take one sniff and walk away.

Melbourne road today:

In the Melbourne CBD, on Lonsdale St with the 90º median parking. Two people on opposite sides pulled halfway into a spot, blocking a lane in each direction, including some cops in a marked car.

Lights come on and three cops got out of the car, the driver was like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ arms up high and kicked them both out of the parking spot, then went about their day moments later.

The car that was in front of me / behind the cops then promptly took that spot.

This following post is well overdue due to the protest.

Indonesian village life:

  • Chickens everywhere. Sometimes playing games of chicken with motor traffic

  • 5 minute trips turning to 20 minute ones. The extra 15 minutes comes from pulling over multiple times for chats because you just passed a friend or family member

  • Wood fire cooking

  • Motorcycles everywhere

  • Congested 4G mobile internet

  • Greeting almost everyone you pass by. Special emphasis on the elderly.

  • Well water. OR walking to fetch water from a nearby river or creek.

  • Burning rubbish (for waste disposal)

  • Use of water and leaves to clean yourself after shitting (no toilet paper)

  • Groups of kids asking passing truck and bus drivers to blow their (sometimes musical) horns, then cheering them on once they do.

  • More chickens everywhere.

Today on Melbourne roads:

  • Bicycle rider jumping a speed bump on the wrong side of the road nearly hit us.
  • Doing 105 on the Calder overtaking a bunch of cars doing 90. SUV towing a caravan cuts me off and proceeds to fish tail and nearly lost control a few times.
  • Tonight also on the Calder. Absolutely pissing down so most of us were cruising at 80kmh. Except for that muppet who decided that he could fly past at maybe 120.
  • Doing 80 on a very quiet rural road of some sort. No idea what I did wrong but a bird somehow managed to land a massive shit on our windshield. Of all the places and time they could've shitted, it had to be on us driving past under the tree.

Parked outside the Eye and Ear hospital.

Nearby was a woman in a red dress who appears to be under the influence of narcotics and was singing loudly.

Came back 3 hours later to find the woman attempting to climb a nearby tree. There is also hand sweat marks and snot all over the windshield and bonnet, suggesting the woman had attempted a lap dance of some sort on the car.
