I got you some booze. Usually helps me when the going gets tough.

You just reminded me to add the liquor store to my errand list, thank you.

1

Nah my coworkers were also in it with me none of us sat down for like 12h except when I ate too many cupcakes between admissions and had to bolt for the off-unit toilet before I shit myself and some of it was funny at least in that darkly absurd way that the slow decay of the American healthcare system is. I couldn't have picked better people to spend a shitty night with there are like 1-2 people who would have made it an even swap and some of the techs could have been better but none of the actual mid coworkers were there so.

I'll have two number 9s, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45s, one with cheese, and a large soda

Could you grab me some ram? I was going to take out a mortgage to upgrade my computer, but then I realized I don't own any property

Okay but like, time for real shit. I am in Korea. I went to a thrift store and got his beat the fuck up looking Thinkpad T480 for like $25. No shit. I take it home and take it apart. You know what I see? I got a Samsuing NVMe 2tb and fucking 2 32gb of Crucial DDR4 RAM chips. NO SHIT!

So uh... in real life? Come to Korea and peruse the fucking thrift shops.

In that case I’ll have some Korean BBQ, pleeease!

6
lemmy.world

No. I been to a ton of K-BBQ places and I found them all disappointing so you aren't allowed as well. You're welcome.

2

Awhhh well in that case I’ll have one of those K-Pops I’ve been hearing about. I’ll have uhhh lime. Or grape, if they’re out of lime.

Curious, what store in Korea? Where? I'll be visiting Seoul soon, and was looking for some old electronics and thrift stuff.

1

Sadly, I have no idea what the name was. I had my korean buddy just tell me it was a thrift store, but I don't know the exact name. Also, I was in Suwon, not Seoul. You're probably gonna have luckier finds in Seoul tho.

2

Dayum, nice find... These days we've got so many people desperate to find a way to make a buck that you can only see deals like that far outside population areas. I haven't even seen any remotely modern computer in a secondhand store in years

I'd love to visit Korea someday, if I ever have the chance I'll have to check out the thrift stores. Even if I don't find a computer, old stuff is cool

Can you grab me a can of striped paint from the hardware store?

lemmy.world

Got it, pal. I got you a pizza topped with 4 kinds of cheeses, tater tots, egg, squid, tteokbokki, a sacrificial virgin, ice cream, matcha, boba, spinach, yumyum sauce, sleeping powder, and pineapple just like you wanted!

12

When they're dragging out the capers and honey, you know they're giving you the Works.

Sometimes a dimensional drain installed into the bladder - something that burrows through a higher dimension and into a sanitary disposal somewhere else - would be nice.

I mean, I don’t drink like a fish or anything, but full bladders can be more abruptly insistent than most anything else.

I used to live (alone, unsurprisingly) in a house with a games room in the attic. The only toilet was on the ground floor. So I ran a hosepipe all the way through the house so I didn't have to trapse down two flights of stairs to pee. Thinking back, I both admire and loathe the person I used to be.

That’s… disgustingly impressive.

As a guy I would gladly high-five you for coming up with such a creatively practical solution, but you’re gonna have to wash your hands, first. Thoroughly.

Oh, it's okay, I kept a rag next to the funnel. And I used a funnel. Belt and braces, you see?

I'll take "the sweet release of death" if you can find it anywhere on a good sale price. Thanks bro.

World peace, and if that's not available, some cheese and onion chips.

12

...oh oops, I read "meds" as "maids"

Yo, you still want some maids, bro?

9
lemmy.ca

Dude! In my country, MAID can be medically assisted suicide. Make sure ya get the right kind of maid!

10

I mean maybe but I would think depression would be more natural. Mania is like increased energy and positive emotions. I feel a bit high.

pack of zig zags, some funyuns, water man, lots of water. and some of that stuff… we used to eat it all the time back in the day…

A Cinnamon Toast Crunch shake. Get two, because you’ll want one. They’re better than they have any right to be. It’s just a vanilla shake with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal mixed in.

Getting rid of hierarchy, I can do that with eugenics and CRISPR modifications to the common human genome, it'll take a few centuries and change everything we are including what makes us human and will probably make humanity go extinct but hey I'm on the way to the store anyway.

2

Dude no but like actually? Here in Korea? The fucking matcha highball is legit the most delicious thing I have had. Whiskey plus matcha plus soda water? OH MY GOD, it was so good! If y'all have not had it, I highly recommend.

3

6 pack of beer, snus (tobacco, not the white nicotine pouch shit) and salted peanuts. Buy something for yourself too, on me.

5

Six spoons of fresh snow peas, five thick slabs of blue cheese, and maybe a snack for your brother Bob. We also need a small plastic snake and a big toy frog for the kids. You can scoop these things into three red bags, and we will go meet you Wednesday at the train station.

Thanks.

Edit: there shouldn't be a co-pay, but if there is let me know and I'll send you the cash.

My family's usual response to this is: "a bag of 100 USD bills".

I'm annoyed just repeating it.
