Dolly Parton, queen of country music and humanitarian hero, dead at 80
RIP Dolly. What a caring and kind person she was. The world is a lesser place without her in it.

Canada Prime Minister: We are not a subsidiary of the United States. We don't accept the attitude of american negociators
I've always held Canada in very high regard and apologize profusely for what my country is doing to you. It's all Donald Trump's fault.

So someone decided that this is the sandwich they would sell to the public and said this is fine?

Susan Collins voted for a supreme court justice who overturned Roe v. Wade. She is not happy when people ask her about it.
Yeah, I remember her saying that Brett Kavanaugh promised her that Roe v Wade was "settled law" and that was good enough for her. My guess is she wanted to vote for him regardless and wanted something she could point to to protect herself when the inevitable blowback happened.

Funny how that works
I have a fear, hopefully unfounded, that cuts to these programs, along with ignoring or getting rid of data is an attempt by this administration to get rid of any information that might contradict their narratives while also allowing big business more free reign. And then there's the immensely ominous statement they've put out in these situations where they essentially say these changes are to support 'changing administrative priorities'.

Flock CEO calls for ‘compromise’ as surveillance company faces growing backlash | TechCrunch
I do not want Flock cameras surveiling me or my car where it will inevitably become data that's combined with a million other data points on me that might be able to determine what I'm doing, what I'm thinking, and what I might do in the future, just to be able to say we're "safer".

World's largest open library calls for volunteers to scan and preserve physical books as AI companies buy, scan, and destroy them — Anna's Archive says ‘time is running out’ as ‘knowledge is permanent
So, my question is, of all these books being scanned and then destroyed, aren't there many more copies of these books? And BTW, knowledge isn't permanent. It can be lost.

Better UFO/UAP communities. It's pretty barren around here as far as this topic goes.

There are very few, if any, rare, one of a kind books that would go through this process. If one of these books were scanned for an LLM it would be done delicately in a more time consuming manner and the book would be returned.
