I find there are some retro titles that have been eclipsed by their sequels, what are some that hold up better than their later iterations in your opinion.
I was on the same track when I read this - Morrowind was the first one that came to mind for me. It just had so much in it. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed oblivion and skyrim, but there's something special about Morrowind to me. Never tried daggerfall, your post inspires me to try to find it again :)
For me, I think the nostalgia of the first iteration is part of what holds me. Halo 1, for example, is my fav of the Halo games as a whole. Sure, I enjoyed many of the others, but there's just something about that first game and the experiences I had in it that have been hard to top.

That is absolutely hilarious. They should've offered him @twitter in exchange, it would only be fair...

Hey all! I've been struggling with my 3 1/2 year old daughter. She is prone to tantrums and will lose her mind over the smallest things. I know this is typical behavior at her age, but I wanted to see
My little guy gets really frustrated when he's feeling like he's not heard (or getting what he wants) - especially when I can't understand what he's saying or asking for.
We've also found giving choices for pretty much everything helps too. Which shirt a or b, apple or orange, milk or water, whatever. Doesn't always work & obv can't always do it, but it sometimes avoids me picking Voldemort and triggering a world shattering event.
Another thing I try is to repeat what he's trying to say through the tears or yelling. Usually he'll calm down a little when he hears me vocalize what he's frustrated about. It doesnt snap him out of it but I find i can get him to walk a little further from the tantrum edge and eventually calm back down.
Also. Food. Lol. Always, always, always make sure they're not hungry. Easiest way to fuel a meltdown in my house is to have a late snack time or something. Sometimes a meltdown happens and I'll ask - are you hungry or do you want an apple sauce and I get a nod and it all makes more sense.... Lol. Like I said, idk if it's universal but it has worked for us :)

My take? The issue I have with the mega rich is that they (generalization here) aren't playing by the same rules as you or I. I don't have an issue, with not paying all of your employees 6 figures. Different jobs, skills, training, and capabilities are (and should be) worth different amounts of money. It's important that people with good ideas, or business capabilities have avenues of expanding, bettering themselves, and enjoying the fruits of their labor.
When you pay money to write rules that are favorable to you, you become the problem. Money in politics is the problem. Imo, that has enabled all of this. Don't have good healthcare? Likely it was lobbied for because someone wanted more money. Stuck in prison? Oh yeah, money in politics got you there. Minimum wage hasn't kept up with inflation? Something, something trickledown-bullshit, money in politics. Kids killed in school constantly? Oh you know....FUCKING MONEY IN POLITICS.
Favorable can be lobbying against health & safety or environmental regulations because it impacts your bottom line. It is donating to political campaigns for tax cuts (you know, fucking bribery). It's blocking minimum wage hikes to secure your bottom line.
All of that said, how people sleep at night with absurd amounts of money and minimal charity is disgusting. I don't fault someone for enjoying an oppulant lifestyle.....I do fault someone for Scrooge McDucking and hoarding cash....for what? Bragging rights? Power?
TLDR: be gaddamn ethical about it.

how to block meta from mastodon
How likely is a federated threads going to be used to harvest data for whatever advertising or AI purpose meta has?
Aside from ensuring their launch product has immediate content, the only reason meta would do this is for that $$.
That said, it could be a symbiotic relationship with instances who's users aren't super worried about that & find value from the addtl content it will surely bring.
