I find keeping a phone longer than three years absurd, guess we like different things!

Two time buyer, can confirm. They're legitimately useful and durable enough for me.

My fold4 lasted 3 years, and still works. I'll concede it was only able to unfold to about 85% open at the end when I decided to upgrade. I was happy to upgrade to the fold 7 which has a redesigned hinge and better dust protection. I acknowledged the risk of mechanical failure as a possibility compared to a slab phone and after using it for years I decided I was still very impressed with the flexibility of having a tablet in my pocket. The fact that my 7th generation is significantly thinner and has a 200MP camera compared to the 4th is what sealed the deal.

It's not perfect for everyone, but I wouldn't go back to using a slab, there's too much functionality I'd be pissed giving up.

Granted, I tend to upgrade my phone every 2 years or so anyway.

I don't think titles directly transfer between companies, and yet the industry allows it. It's a very useful tool for advancement.

Time on the job does not equate to skill. Some jobs force you to figure shit out that other jobs simply never expose you to. Other jobs expose you to lots of busywork and that isn't going to make you a better engineer either.

I've met senior engineers with 3 years that are significantly more useful than senior engineers with 10 years. Individual motivation and willingness to learn matter the most to me.

I have used the ladder to my advantage and advise others to do the same. It's a game, you don't win by not playing.

What a sad state this country is coming to. We deserve affordable access to safe healthcare. Abortion is healthcare!

This update causes my Jetbrains IDE to randomly crash several times a day, it's great. Also my USB hubs wouldn't work this morning until I power cycled everything a few times. What fun!

Back when they introduced their marketplace, I found an extremely good deal. Thinking it was too good to be true, but cheap enough to say "what the heck," I bought it anyway. Fast forward a week and I received a completely different item than what was described (no surprise, to be honest) in the listing. Naturally, I reached out to customer service for a refund because the item I received was not as advertised. To my surprise, Newegg refused to refund me the whole amount even though they acknowledged the listing was essentially a scam, so I back charged through my credit card. Then, they banned my account. I had been an avid supporter of the company and built many computers from things purchased there, up until that complete joke of a refund process.

Newegg died the day they sold out way back in the 2010s, screw that horrible customer service.

Fold 4 daily driver. It's easily my favorite phone since my motoX many years ago. I can't imagine going back to a non-foldable. Looking at floorplans, videos, documents, photos, you name it is so much nicer on a small tablet vs a phone screen. I'll absolutely be getting another foldable when I'm done with this one.
