I’m not even saying forever. Drop the ads stream services and force yourself to find other things at the same time.
The worst part is so many people treat streaming like a gym membership. They have it just in case and then rarely use it.

How much do you have your kids read?
I remember being taught to read at home. And how to write at school, in those flashes back to kindergarten and 1st grade.
Maybe it’s always been that way? Sure there was vocabulary and reading comprehension but that built on an ability to read basic kid books I had at home before grade school.
Good job.

Just drop the subs. Call it the November challenge. You have to find some screen free way to entertain yourself for the month.
ETA: it’s not as difficult as you may think.

How is this not the standard view?
We are social animals. When the herd exhibits general acceptance it triggers something in our brains to do the same. It is why billionaires are funding data centers to flood social media with the opinions and leans they want the public to have.
I can’t remember the researcher name, but among the many studies on this topic there have been a swath done in public waiting rooms with confederates (the name given to actors working for researchers). This is a reproduced experiment.
Waiting room. Smoke starts to trickle out of the ventilation system. How long til someone leaves? Turns out, it’s more likely for the room to clear faster if the confederate gets up sooner and leaves. Then the standard cascade effect happens as the herd takes the hint and everyone leaves. In some cases, it gets to the point where the room becomes hazy and people don’t leave til the confederate initiates.
None of life is a single variable scenario, but it’s worth digging into the variables known to influence us as people.
Learned helplessness is another item I believe is more relevant today than at the time of the now illegal, though famous, experiments performed on dogs.
Everyone else is working these jobs, so it must be ok.

The US fertility rate has hit another record low despite MAGA calls for a ‘baby boom’

Let’s not forget that women’s liberation didn’t exist in the legal system until the 1970s. Prior to the 1970s, marital rape was legal in every US state.

Standing Stone games did it with Warner Brothers. Dungeons & Dragons online never shut down, it’s owned by the devs now.

With BioWare dead, EA lays out its 'next chapter,' and it's pretty much as predicted: Guns and football are fine, and everything else is under the microscope
Here’s hoping Larian steps up again with their next creation.

Interesting tidbit regarding the “witch” phenomenon in history. It was typically post-menopausal and unmarried women. It was also way to strip authority (through advice, midwifery, etc) from said women within their local populations.

It’s why Roe fell. They feel entitled to us. This subset of men has been flailing and teaching their kids that flail, since the 70s.

Once again, women’s liberation is only 50 years old. As such, we get blamed for a lot when a certain subset of men are unhappy with any part of life we touch, or don’t touch, whatever the case.
We can’t just live our lives, we owe them something.

Im ok with a full ending in a trilogy, the hero dying or whatever, but the choices were bad. And Kai Lang felt like a misplaced Final Fantasy villain.
I’m sad because BioWare produced the games I want to play. ME. DA. Greedfall ( I know it’s not BioWare ). And no one else is even trying to make those games.

Let’s be real, we’re fairly certain the Portland thing was staffers feeding Trump vids of the Floyd riots and telling him it was happening now. The man is so demented and incompetent he wouldn’t know the difference. The Apple Store windows, for example, were boarded up then. Not so during the ICE protests.

There will never not be a subset of men who feel entitled to us, our lives, our bodies, our output of work.
I dated a guy (oh so briefly, never moved beyond the interviewing stage) who said on the 2nd? date he did not want a woman who used her energy on other people at work, specifically the human professions like teaching, psychology, or healthcare, because he felt that energy only belongs at home, with the family. I guess he was starting to relax enough to talk about how he really felt. Called Poe “nazifem” music over that meal as well. That whole meal wasn’t a Hello but a Goodbye. A final one.
