What's one highly extolled piece of media that you absolutely cannot stand in any way shape or form.

For me if I had to pick a good contender it would be the UK version of The Office.

I know many tend to debate how Ricky Gervais really fell off and how he repugnantly acts like a whiny centrist edgelord but me personally IMO I actually don't think he was ever funny not even a little.

His big break through television was just so painful to sit through it's so charismatically boring the characters are completely generic at best (notably Tim) or straight up insufferably unlikable at worst (especially the protagonist David FUCKING Brent) and most importantly the humour is just embarrassing.

Always seemed like The Thick Of It but without the nuisance tongue in cheek and charming satire.

TIL: While getting everything sorted out for his group N.W.A, Eazy E made his living as a drug dealer so he can save enough money to form his own record label where they can start producing music.

Imagine going around selling some dragon on the streets of California to Kickstart your own label, then ending up authoring an entire music genre forever and in death.

Just goes to show you can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

If Weed played a part in N.W.A's success story than hand over the dutchie and consummate proposition 64 to make Eric The Easy Rider's legacy live on!

Peter Kyle agreed to include ‘more positive language’ in AI speech after Mandelson’s advice

Business Secretary Peter Kyle said he would "action" advice from Lord Mandelson to include "more positive language about AI" at the start of a speech at a major international security conference.

On 8 February 2025, Lord Mandelson told Kyle, who was then the government's technology secretary, that his speech would "benefit from more positive language about AI up front before you get into the security stuff".

Kyle replied: " That's all v good advice which I'll action. Thank you."

Six days later Kyle gave a speech at the Munich Security Conference in which he said "in the UK, we reject the doomsayers and the pessimists" about artificial intelligence.

Just decided to recreate one of my favourite subreddits from when I was Reddit user

Hope Lemmy doesn't mind.

I created a replica of a iconic Subreddit where pretentious jackasses strive through silly mostly innocuous clips of tv shows and screenshot of memes or fan art and act incredibly pompous, solemn, and pedantic towards it like it's some angtsy piece of iconography or a very taboo and problematic statement.

Lemmy, please give a pair of open arms to "Super Serious Family Guy"
