When the holy one left the Fediverse, my faith in Dog was broken
Meh...
At first i was pleased to see the content. Plenty of cool pics of old things.
A lot of it was just reposting low effort memes, which is not at all a problem, it's just no great loss.
But the more i interacted with them, the more i saw long waffly comments without a firm point. Or saw them arguing in favour of common misconceptions, or in favour of outdated "heirarchies are a good thing" understandings of history, or in favour of arguments that more recent research casts a lot of doubt on.
What's the legacy of a profilic poster of middling content? Prolific is good, fediverse needs content. But the content itself was no great loss.

I dunno i think the better analogy is a cat bringing dead birds like 3+ times a day.
Cool, that's really sweet, it's an impressive volume and get that you're trying to do me a solid but that's not actually useful to me, makes me sad for the birds and the amount makes it more annoying, not less.

sing this corrosion [meme]
When i was picked up by the cops for skipping school, i had a fake ID that said my name was Andrew Eldritch. The cops called my mother and said "excuse me miss Eldritch we have your son Andrew", so she just laughed at them and was like, "Do you seriously not know Sisters of Mercy?"

Flock CEO calls for ‘compromise’ as surveillance company faces growing backlash | TechCrunch
The rich will never feel save while we, their victims, have privacy.
They know better than even we do how much reason we have to be plotting against them.

Would you rather: date someone who you like but who doesn't initially like you back, or date someone who likes you whom you don't initially like back?
I have done both and while the former was very stressful, it was still better than the latter.
Dating someone you're not super into who really likes you felt like having a chainsaw hand. It sounds cool as long as you don't think about any of the details, but in practice you just spend the entire time worrying how to avoid causing any harm.

📛Killdozers, Rollout!📛
Caterpillar have been profitting from israel's genocide of the palestinian people for decades.
When a palestinian throws a rock at a soldier occupying their land and israel responds by bulldozing the entire family's homes in direct violation of the geneva convention, they use caterpillar equipment.
When you're engineering genocide, think caterpillar.

I too am skeptical that a pattern this eye-catching and regular is natural - the eyes ears, the forehead, the feet, the tail? It's just too perfect.
If a cat was born looking like that, surely you'd be honour-bound to take it to the capital and gift it to the emperor while begging him to spare your village of simple cat breeders from some injustice?

Do you ever reminisce about an old phone you had in the past?

My nokia windows phone was the best. Stylish, great battery, great camera.
Windows phone with the tiles remains the best phone interface by far. Since then i've had to make my own custom interface because i can't go back to ugly ass icons.

"Pro-life" woman seeks abortion and gets denied
Privileged people do get an exception - they can afford to fly to another state for an abortion.
People like this think they're part of the in group because they're white or christian, but the only war is class war. To our rulers we're all the enemy.

Is Elon Musk Staging a Coup? Billionaire Seizes Control at Treasury Dept.
It's a fascist coup.
They took control of the judiciary some time ago, they recently seized the executive and now they're destroying any remaining institutional power that can oppose them.
The current regime is not legitimate.

Again with the sperm obsession
I love that the first sperm analogy he can think of involves drinking a cup of it - kinks out no shame! - but my favorite part is when he forgets the number '43' over the course of eight words and writes '47' instead.
Truly an opinion worth considering.

A woman brought her own snacks to Despicable Me 4. Then the police arrived
This is a story of one bootlicking employee who was in desperate need of fucking off and minding his own business:
However, just as the movie started, an employee told them to put their snack bags away, the report said. They agreed but the employee apparently insisted on sitting next to them to monitor the snack situation.
A few minutes later, one of the children popped a Skittle he was already holding into his mouth, and quite frankly, all hell broke loose, the women said. The employee started shouting at them, and said that the police would be called unless they left. This is when the children started crying.
“My niece asked nicely: ‘If you’re calling the police, are they going to kill my mum?’” one of the women told the newspaper. “And he laughed at that stage. He looks directly in her face and he said: ‘Yeah, maybe we’ll find out.’

Biden says he’ll call for Supreme Court reform in final months in office
If I understand the supreme court correctly, Biden could just shoot Roberts, Alito and Thomas and call it court reform, right? That makes it an official act?

Fox News host Jesse Watters thinks men who vote for women ‘transition’ to women
Surely it can't be that dumb?
“I heard the scientists say the other day that when a man votes for a woman, he actually transitions into a woman.”
Ok, it's that dumb.
Doing a great job of not being weird.
