“TKO’s unique ability to deliver one-on-one live events and experiences was front and center in the second quarter. Nothing illustrates this better than UFC Freedom 250 held in June,” Emanuel said on the company’s Q2 2026 earnings call. “This event was a roaring success for our company, the UFC brand and the sport of mixed martial arts, exposure, earned media, audience expansion and a weekend-long fan experience.”

However, later on the call, TKO CFO Andrew Schleimer acknowledged that with UFC Freedom 250, “we incurred significantly higher-than-normal costs, which we partially offset with sold out global partnerships inventory. As a reminder, we did not sell tickets and therefore did not record any live events revenue. Given the event’s financial profile, which as anticipated, resulted in approximately $30 million loss, our margins at UFC as well as on a consolidated basis, were meaningfully impacted.”

When the “woke” mania swept the country in 2020, I took a step back and reevaluated where I stood and why I stood there. To my surprise, I found that I agreed with conservatives and libertarians on a number of issues. I opposed childhood gender transitions, unlawful and divisive DEI mandates, and the excesses of Critical Race Theory. I argued against biological males competing in women’s sports and being housed in women’s prisons. I did so loudly and publicly, losing many friends along the way. My stance wasn’t rooted in hate or fear but in a commitment to reason and fairness. My loyalty was to the truth, not to political tribes. Maintaining my integrity cost me greatly, but I believed it was worth it.

AfD party leader defends same-sex relationships despite party stance

The leader of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), Alice Weidel, who lives in a same-sex civil partnership, distanced herself on Sunday from part of a regional party manifesto backing the traditional family model, saying she lives "something different."

"They can write whatever they like. I live something different," Weidel said in response to a question from RTL/ntv about the election manifesto of the AfD in the state of Saxony-Anhalt.

The manifesto states: "An intact family consisting of a mother, father and children has been proven to be the best foundation for a child's healthy development."

Weidel lives in a registered civil partnership with a woman, with whom she is raising two children.

"If you ask me personally: my children have the best upbringing and the best opportunities," Weidel said on the sidelines of the AfD party conference in the eastern city of Erfurt.

"We are now living in a completely different reality. So same-sex relationships must be treated equally," she added.

Weidel nonetheless defended her party's fundamental stance towards the traditional family model. "When, as a politician, I speak of a societal ideal - and that is currently the traditional family - I can advocate it and there is no contradiction," she said.

Florida Republican Representative Kat Cammack was widely criticized after opening up to reporter Tara Palmeri about having trouble accessing abortion for an ectopic pregnancy in Florida after she helped pass a six-week abortion ban in the state.

Cammack told the Wall Street Journal that she faced delays in receiving treatment for a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy shortly after Florida's six-week abortion ban took effect in May 2025.

Cammack blamed those delays not on the law itself but on what she described as misleading messaging from abortion-rights advocates that had made healthcare workers fearful of legal repercussions, telling the Journal:

“It was absolute fearmongering at its worst. There will be some comments like, 'Well, thank God we have abortion services,' even though what I went through wasn't an abortion.'"
