The fact that you can’t run through Windows setup w/o internet and an online account is absolute bullshit

So... Every business ever, then?

The other one I've noticed is that they've stopped shipping necessary drivers with the install iso now, so if you do make the decision to install fresh, enjoy using the nipple on your Lenovo laptop because the trackpad and network driver didn't come with the iso.

I'm so unbelievably tired of being a windows admin

It's quite the burden knowing I'm always the smartest person in any given room.

I think I'm the weird one who likes different DEs for different use-cases

Gnome is great on a laptop with a track pad. It feels a bit like MacOS with its gestures and how it behaves. I did try also installing hyprland on it to try it out. I like the idea of a tiling WM but getting a setup 'just right' sounds like an exercise in patience I don't have when other solutions exist that are good enough.

On my main desktop that I use a mouse to navigate, KDE all the way.

On the few VMs that I run GUI apps on, I like LXQT (Lubuntu or Debian) for how few resources it uses.

"If you tell a lie big enough and tell it frequently enough, people will eventually come to believe it". What is an example of this happening today?

Anyone that says J6 was a "peaceful protest" that "got out of hand"

We all saw the footage of that day. There were gallows and calls to hang a sitting vice president.

It was an insurrection, fomented and encouraged by Donald Trump's speech and actions leading up to that day. Plain and simple.

The right-wingers who say it wasn't as serious as it was are gaslighting their base.

Edit: Victims of gaslighting in my replies

Self-Hosted AI is pretty darn cool

"learned some things like Linux, command line, docker, and networking/pfsense" "I don't consider myself technical"

Don't sell yourself short, I work in IT and have colleagues on our helpdesk who would struggle endlessly with those concepts.

I hereby dub you a tech person, like it or not, those skills can and do pay the bills.
