Go in through the exit tell them you are going to cafe or customer service if they say something.
Depending on the location you can also say you are going to the pharmacy or buying alcohol. Some local laws prohibit requiring memberships for prescription drugs and alcohol.

Unfortunately, there is no "local Costco" for me. The closest one is a 4 hour drive away.

I can't find parking, such a shame, nothing can be done, so close yet so far. I guess someone else has to attempt this.
