My 1TB hard drive took a crap reformatted it, lost all my info, and it works now. How do I use a cloud or drive online to backup my stuff so I am not relying just on physical and can dl anywhere?

Honestly, physical storage is your best bet for that amount of data. Just grab yourself an affordable hard disk drive, connect it to an unoccupied SATA port on your motherboard and then use synchronization software to make a replica of your main drive that syncs multiple times a day.

Its a lot easier than it sounds.

The paradox of tolerance

Being a billionaire is a choice, a choice to hoard money to the detriment of everyone and everything around you. One could easily choose to not be a billionaire by paying taxes and funding their local social support services and donating to charity. Intolerance of greed on the scale of billions of dollars should be the norm as it is actively detrimental to society.

Robbery is a violation of personal safety and social boundaries and is also actively detrimental to society. It is also a choice.

Intolerance of the choices of others that violate the social contract of "don't be greedy, don't steal, don't hurt others, etc..." is valid intolerance in my opinion.

Nazis are intolerable because they are intolerant of the vast majority of humanity itself and for reasons outside of most people's control. Sure, you can make it a choice and convert to Judaism, but the vast majority of Jews are born into Judaism; It's not a choice like greed on the scale of billions or breaking and entering.

For that reason alone, Nazis are worth disposing of. The myriad additional reasons to hate Nazis just makes the job easier.

As Microsoft Forces Users to Ditch Windows 10, It Announces That It’s Also Turning Windows 11 into an AI-Controlled Monstrosity

Have Win 10 and was a Windows die hard since I was a kid.

Been running Linux on another drive as my default boot for a year and a half in anticipation of this horseshit and was only hesitant to delete Win because my Fanatec sim racing hardware wasn't supported on Linux.

Welp, turns out hid-fanatecff is a thing. Installed the kernel driver and boom, working Fanatec peripherals. Even my Moza shifter is plug-and-play.

Bye bye Microsoft.

Boomers with their loud Samsung phone sounds

Its not just notifications. Its also them watching entire videos at high volume in waiting rooms, ads and everything. That or its endless scrolling and completely unrelated audio blasts chained together doing literal psychic damage to everyone around.

It drives me fucking NUTS. The worst part is they're the ones that will be the first to complain about kids these days being glued to their phones.

What self hosting feels like (It's painful, please help 🥲)

Honestly, as a newbie to Linux I think the ratio of well documented processes vs. "draw the rest of the fucking owl" is too damn high.

The rule seems to be that CLI familiarity is treated as though its self-evident. The exception is a ground-up documented process with no assumptions of end user knowledge.

If that could be resolved I think it would make the Linux desktop much more appealing to wider demographics.

That said, I'm proud to say that I've migrated my entire home studio over to linux and have not nuked my system yet. Yet... Fortunately I have backups set up.
