Porcupine Tree - Open Car (Playthrough)
Killer track by a killer band. Had a lot of fun jamming to this one tonight.

Dude just wrote an entire plugin himself that models the IIC+ based on the schematic. Comparison between the Mark V and the plugin at 13:00. Incredible work.

This is where I'm at after two days of progress on this incredible track. I had a truly flawless playthrough on my second try this evening but failed to hit record in Reaper so this take comes about ~20 takes after that absolutely heartbreaking mistake.
This is honestly the only AB track I can get through at the moment since all their songs are typically incredibly fast and difficult. My picking hand is just not able to keep up with that stuff yet.
Big shoutout to the band for making their tabs available for purchase. It's been an adventure learning this stuff and it has seriously leveled up my playing in the process. Check out this link to their merch site for tabs and other stuff: https://massacremerch.com/collections/artificial-brain
The tone I'm using is a custom patch in my AxeFX II using the FAS Modern III model - a tweaked version of the classic 5150 - and a DiMarzio Blaze in the bridge position.

So we have a pear tree in our back yard that decided this was the year it was going to successfully bear fruit.
Its been extremely dry and we've been away a lot so I haven't cut the grass in about 8 weeks. I didn't even notice the tree had ripe fruit on it until yesterday. Stoked to check it out I walked over to pick some and noticed there's about ten full grown pears rotting on the ground below the tree that are just absolutely infested with wasps.
The tree is near our fence with the neighbors so I gotta deal with this fast so they don't get overwhelmed by wasps.
Does anyone know of a safe way to approach this? I broke my ribs and fucked up my back on a dirt bike last weekend so I can't exactly do anything that requires quick reactions or running away.
Any ideas would be super helpful 🙏
[EDIT] The solution was to wait until nightfall for them to return to their nest. I was able to pick up all the fruit and dispose of it with ease with maybe 5 wasps hanging around, seemingly in a stupor due to low light and cold air, instead of what looked like a few hundred during the day.
"Meshuggah sprinted so all others could shit the bed."
Hell yeah! The boys are back.
Hey everyone,
Not sure I've seen this particular technique before.
Here's a tutorial on how you can use REAPER's stock gate plugin to generate MIDI that you can send to an EQ to modulate frequency bands to eliminate bleed in your drum tracks. This is super powerful on toms.
Inspired by the FabFilter Pro-MB bleed reduction tricks.

This is an all instruments/vocals scratch-made cover of the track that got me into Black Metal. A truly iconic masterpiece of atmosphere. I always wanted to do a cover of this track. I'm very happy with how this turned out.
Thanks to Yabridge (https://github.com/robbert-vdh/yabridge) I was able to record, mix, and master this entirely on a Linux system (Nobara) running Reaper with stock Reaper plugins, many FOSS plugins, and a couple choice paid plugins; namely GGD Invasion and Sketch Cassette II. Everything else was free or open source by choice.

Absolutely absurd, I know but this question somehow popped into my head and won't leave. 😆🐔🔥🧊
[EDIT] Inb4 more people try to suggest that I'm mourning the loss of this scumbag capitalist fuck: No, I'm not sad he's dead. No, I don't think corporate murder is acceptable and no, I would not ever rat to police if I knew the shooter and yes, I believe the punishment fits the crimes he's committed against untold thousands of people. THAT SAID...
I'm not down with vigilante murder or anything because it seems like the slipperiest of slopes toward chaos, but what other option is there in a situation where someone seeks to make an impact in this way? You can't just beat up evil CEOs and let them go back to work. It would be naïve to expect them to change their ways when faced with consequences for their actions and then promptly let go. It just seems like the chances that it emboldens their penchant for exploitative behaviour and disdain for people in need are too high.
We're just born into and strapped to this capitalist ride and expected to sit quiet and make these leeches their billions. How else can this cancerous greed possibly be dealt with? Is vigilante murder the only effective option? Honest questions. I'm terribly conflicted and I'm genuinely curious what more reasonable and intelligent minds than mine think about this because I can't think of an alternative to murder in this case.
Ideally, we wouldn't have to resort to vigilante killings to level the playing field but I 100% understand that we don't live in a society where the rich will ever give a fuck about the rest of us or would ever sacrifice their power over us in the name of goodwill.
Real therapy cat vibes.
Second solo in Windowpane by Opeth.
Hey folks. Just finished a tab of the song "Superior" from Extol's incredible "Burial" album. Figured I'd share it here as I'm sure there's a few around here that know of Extol's greatness. If you want a .gp8 version of the file, just let me know.
