Kraft also owns the new england patriots. Hate to give those athletes a splash effect of their owner's awfulness. But I also think thats the celebrity world for you. We have to make zionism as toxic in the business community as it already is in public opinion polls. BDS works.
Yeah, but people will take any reason to hate on the Patriots lol. Patriots being known as pro genocide might turn people anti genocide just because haha.
I mean, I was vocally against Biden (in 2020) in a sense of, “this guy is way too conservative on Israel and will probably lose re-election as a result if the conflict there heats up.” Not a very satisfying “I told you so.” I still voted for him in 2020, but I told this to everyone at the time, and with hindsight I was absolutely right. I still voted for Harris in ‘24, but I wasn’t surprised when she lost after all the Liz Cheney/“most lethal military” shit. The job of politicians is to convince voters to support them, not to ignore them, and Biden/Harris were completely out of touch with their own base. This is not the voters’ or Macklemore’s fault, it is Biden and Harris’s fault. Can’t even blame Trump for this one.

Yes, Jewish people suffered greatly in the last century.
Yes, there people in certain countries/religions who actively want to kill Jews or at least Israelis.
Yes, Israel is a majority Jewish state.
But.
No, a past genocide does not give a free pass to execute a new one.
No, murdering thousands in collateral to catch the ones who might be dangerous is not acceptable (not to mention the executions etc of obvious non-combatants).
No Israel does not speak for all Jewish people nor have justification to excuse their behaviour/crimes as such.
Also, yes the Israeli government/leadership is corrupt as fuck, uses war to dodge accountability, and is involved in a lot more terrible acts than "just" the ones in Palestine.
Honestly, when Mossad was blowing up pages and mobiles I thought that was great. It was strategic, effective, and we'll targeted at the actual terrorist leaders/allies rather than causing mass casualties.. they obviously have the capability to be much more surgical in their responses, so mass-bombings etc seem that much more like war/hate crimes. Doing this just creates more hatred, which leads to more terrorists and a continual cycle.
Where do I approve of terrorism? My point is that the current actions are more likely to drive people towards terrorism, whereas intelligent strikes against the terrorist leadership actually reduce the threat
"Honestly, when Mossad was blowing up pages and mobiles I thought that was great."
This was an act of terrorism regardless of your opinion about it being morally correct. Let's suppose Hezbollah sent packages to Israeli military families and they blew up when they opened them wounding them and their family members. Would you also applaud this?
It was a disgusting attack that maimed and even killed children.
I mean why is Hama's a terrorist organization? Sure they killed people but their people have been kicked out of homes and killed and nobody cared. Of course they are eventually going to fight back.I mean is what they did eight? No but is what Israel was doing to them even before this right? No but nobody cared till they leveled the place this time.
80 years of making the wrong political decision at every fork in the road.
Always on the wrong side of things.
Eventually that catches up with you. No matter who you are.
That is what we are seeing unfold in Gaza in our present times.
Walking out on the U.N. partition plan negotiations back in 1948 was a tragic mistake,
and it's only become more disastrous with the passage of the years and
decades since then.
No musician or singer poncing about on stage like an uninformed idiot before a crowd of even less informed idiots
can change anything about those facts.
What you’re saying is “collective punishment is the way we should handle this”.
No, I merely observe that it appears the Palestinians in Gaza are experiencing collective punishment at the hands of the Israelis at the moment,
and that sometimes in the course of human affairs collective punishment has been known to happen- especially in war & in "special military operations"
That first line which is a quote of your own words.. which is you saying what you think I am saying, which is in the end, you saying something- not me.
.
Here is a simple take on this. I'm living here near a little town on my little half acre of land. Then some people move in beside me on their little half acre of land and they have support of the nearby town and several counties giving them the land and the house. It's not the best land in the area but they get it for free. Now I'm sitting here on my little half acre minding my own business and the nearby town and counties decide that hey we're going to give the people that just moved in beside you a quarter of your land and I go no you're not so I put up a fence they come in and tear it down and take it anyway. Now my neighbors on the other side of me they want to back me but they're afraid because my new neighbors have the backing of the local police and sheriff. So they just stick to their own business. Well I'm not very powerful but I'll go out there and I step on my old stolen piece of land and I put up a fence again. This time The neighbor comes out with guns and start shooting my cats tears down the fence and says well we're going to take a little more and so they take a little more. So we kind of settle into an uneasy fuck you across the fence for a while. Eventually my neighbor sees that hey my land is growing corn and stuff and it's nice and flat so they decide that that's what they want to so they decide one day they take down part of the fence and they move it another 50 ft intake my whole front yard now what do you think I'm going to do? I'm going to fight the whole time cuz I got nowhere to go. Then my neighbors decide they want my fucking house too so they come over start shooting my cats and throwing my shit out in the yard setting it on fire all what the help of the local police and sheriff. Now you tell me who the terrorist is?. That's a rhetorical question.
That was not a lot of words. Maybe you should work on your reading. Or you could just fuck all the way off. Either choice would be a net benefit to the world.
If Palestine agreed to give up the most fertile part of their land, to the government that just invaded and genocided them, do you think Israel would have stopped?
No you have to confront trash at every turn, even if it seems pointless. I dont have the energy to do it most of the time and that's on me, but I certainly won't discourage those who have it
#I'm tired boss and #thats the point. The shit storm they are staring up in every direction is quite literally a tactic in debate. "Gish Gallop" (or bullshit storm) is what it is called. Just being used in physical form by these fuckers on the geopolitical level.
TLDR: all of the kids getting blown up in schools and hospitals really fucked up when they walked out of the 1948 UN partition plan negotiations and had this coming.
The real damage is done by those millions who want to 'survive.' The honest men who just want to be left in peace. Those who don’t want their little lives disturbed by anything bigger than themselves. Those with no sides and no causes. Those who won’t take measure of their own strength, for fear of antagonizing their own weakness. Those who don’t like to make waves—or enemies.

All of the remaining support acts on Ed Sheeran's US tour have quit, after the rapper Macklemore was dropped from the line-up for making pro-Palestinian remarks on stage.
Among them were Finneas, the brother of pop star Billie Eilish, who said in a statement: "Artists must not be silenced when they speak up for the oppressed."
Irish singer-songwriter Aaron Rowe and Danish band Lukas Graham also announced their departure. Irish folk band Beoga, who perform with Sheeran on stage every night, dropped out too.
If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.
I made a reminder at work that Target took down lgbt products, removed "DEI" language out of their policies, and did a racism when I saw the party planner bought some shit from Target for a pizza party. Immediately the dog piling began and she's terrified to bring a target bag here again.
I understand Costco, I think it was, consistently made the opposite choices from Target. That's off the top of my mind, though, so do check for yourself.
I want someone good at art to make a picture. One side of the pic would be unicorns and rainbow type shit and the other side would be the idf commiting atrocities. Splitting the image would be Sheeran sitting on a fence saying "I don't want to be political"
I'd get that printed on a shirt and rock it so damn hard.
Bonus points if one of the posts/slats was shoved up his ass and coming out of his mouth.
On the one hand, no one should be taking their political opinions from fucking celebrities. On the other hand, being against genocide is a pretty easy one to get right and he still can't manage to do it...
Political opinions from uninformed or biased celebrities no, but at the same time it's easier you somebody who already has a following to make that push in the right (or wrong) direction than some random nobody.. This is especially true in the US where people are being actively oppressed by their own government, as it's a significantly harder for ICE etc to suddenly disappear somebody famous versus a random "dissident".
My problem with the situation is not so much the celebrities speaking out. They can say whatever they want, it's their platform. My problem is with all the people listening and forming their own opinions around that. There are (or at least should be) better informed sources to learn about problems like this from. Media is fucked up too though so at this point I guess gather information from wherever you can.
Yeah if you're solely basing your opinion on what some famous dude with no other credentials says then that's a bad idea. I still try and listen to the professionals, but they are being suppressed especially in the news. Still, it seems people are as much likely to migrate towards celebrities that seem to share their political views as they are to be informed by them.
If people are going to follow celebrities for politica informationl, maybe they would be better off to go with Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine). He at least he has a degree in Political Science, and a decent wit to go with it.
Most people get their political opinions from everywhere, which is why it's important to take opportunities to talk about politics in non-political situations.
If I feel strongly about something, I share it with the people around me. Celebrities are just people with a lot of people around them. So while I agree that people shouldn't be treating celebrities as political experts, neither should we be acting like celebrities need to stay silent when they have something to share.
So while I agree that people shouldn’t be treating celebrities as political experts, neither should we be acting like celebrities need to stay silent when they have something to share.
Agreed. people can say what they want. My point was the listeners shouldn't be taking the word of non-experts as truth or putting much stock in what they have to say at all.
Well, he didn't really have a choice. The owner of the venue dragged him into it by demanding he deplatform Macklemore and he folded and kicked Macklemore off his tour. That's taking a side and he chose the wrong one.
I mean, practically speaking, he probably won't be playing his next show given that his touring band and all his other openers quit in protest. So unless it's going to be four hours of Ed and an acoustic guitar...
His band and opening performers quit. I'm not sure how he could do a show. Apparently with Macklemore on the tour the Epstein class venue owners were starting to refuse him locations to play, so he caved, and now artists don't want to work with him.
3 downvotes lol people are wild on the internet man, clearly idk what i am doing here so why the hate, thank you for the 4 upvotes tho whoever you are know you rock and Jesus loves you
It's fair to be critical of his cameo on Game Of Thrones but this is some crazy misdirected hate.
Let me guess, Zionist control over trending topics is trying to redirect anger that should be focused on those actually doing the genocide, instead of trying to turn this into some ongoing story.
Makes no sense and no one should go to his shows... Just because he's not a very good musician.
Ed is a musician. I would not expect perfect diplomacy from any musician. His job is to please his audience and I suspect he doesn’t quite know what that is politically. He appears to be caught between a rock and a hard place. I doubt he has any hard line political position and simply tries to balance demands from his fans and management while wishing he could just keep plucking strings.
No, he’s a millionaire, who used to be just a musician. He chose his management, and they arranged the tour in partnership with Kraft and his ilk. This is his tour, so it’s ultimately his responsibility, and he made several bad choices
It suck for Ed because probably HE just wanted to get cool musician in His tour, and having your friend Maclemore in it, was just that, He supporting His friend. But then Robert Kraft tells you to kick Maclemore or you can't play in his stadium, to me that fucker should be the one receiving more heat.
Could Ed say fuck you Robert Kraft!?, probably, but it's not that easy, a tour means a lot of jobs for a lot of people, and now He is the bad guy. I don't think that He had th eidea to make a tour to shine a light in society's problems, He just wanted to play music and get paid.
Now Pink, that was just career suicide, when 2 countries are fighting and one has tanks and assault rifles and the other has rocks, and you are Team Tank you are just a douche
"Oh, you're cancelling my concert on a venue I already paid because you suddenly don't like part of my entourage? Nice! You know the closest court so I can sue the hell out of you for breach of contract? Also: I'm gonna make sure you regret this by being extremely public about who's cancelling the show and for what reason."
And that would have made him fill the next few venues just out of spite for the asshole Kraft. But he had to choose bothsiding in a matter that has genociders and victims.
Agree. I don't really care about Ed or even know his music, but when he's the main attraction for the audience and the host for the supporting acts, he has to be the last one to cancel.
He needs to do that now to save any shed of integrity.
In hindsight he ought to be have coordinated with the other bands outside of the press before saying anything at all. There's no saving this now, when it already shows that he caved in to the demands regardless of his reasoning for doing so.
But if someone says "Take my side or you're a murderer" they don't care about the kids, they just want to use their moral stance as an excuse for social dominance, which is why many people end up resisting "good causes" to defend themselves against the garbage energy that's hidden behind their "morally justified" anger.
In reality someone either has a sensible opinion or they don't, and you're not gonna pressure anyone into changing their mind with force anyway, so it's just a self-serving excuse to take your neuroticism out on other people.
Yes, that's why it isn't a question at all but a way to pressure someone into saying what you want. It's a social dominance tactic employed by dark triad personality types.
Which are exactly the types the "righteous causes" attract, because it allows them to express their desire for social dominance by hitting people over the head with things that nobody sensible would disagree with in the first place.
"You're not a supporter of Genocide, are you?!" No you scintillating moron, nobody in their right mind is. And if they were, they wouldn't answer your question truthfully anyway.
Anyone who is victimized is a victim, the existence of greater victims do not discount the existence of lesser victims. Victimization is a binary, not graded on a scale.
Social causes are not excuses to vent your pent-up anger at life because you are unable to live skillfully.
Sure, these people must be into social causes because of some hokey amateur psychoanalysis, it can’t possibly be that people are simply not into political violence. I think you need to learn about Occam’s Razor, big dawg, because right now you’re making up conspiracy theories to explain some pretty simple situations.
People who are into psychological violence aren't against political violence, they simply don't have the power to commit the latter so they stick to the former.
The seed of violence is the same. The scale is only limited by your access to power.
My experience with the majority of ideologues these days is that they do this.
They give you a false question which is essentially "You're not with the baby bunny killers are you?" And the only answer is no, and the only reason they ask you is to relieve some of all the aggression they're carrying around by forcing you to give the answer they want by posing a false question.
It's a socially acceptable form of psychological violence. And all it does is make healthy people distance themselves from political movements that otherwise have the right opinions, but are using them the wrong way. Because of their Egos, they're literally losing voters.
IDF's claims that Hamas committed mass rape and/or used rape as a weapon on October 7th have never been substantiated. Unlike the IDF themselves.
The one that lobs rockets to the other on a daily basis?
that's still the IDF.
You're comparing a few primitive rockets with no guidance systems a week to a systematic genocide deliberately targeting civilians including children and somehow arriving at the former being worse.
However its not like jews are the grand evil
Nope, "the jews" aren't "the grand evil".
The state of Israel, on the other hand, is a fascist apartheid state that has been inherently and enthusiastically genocidal for 80 years and categorically denies all responsibility for its countless atrocities
and were never attacked b4.
"Those who make peaceful resistance impossible will make violent resistance inevitable."
-- JFK, edited to fit
That's also why most of the international community shuts up about this
No. Geopolitical mafia methods from the US, Germany, the UK, and other allies of the fascist apartheid regime is why most governments don't dare point out the absurdly obvious.
They dont have a solution.
They have several, but all of the good ones require that Israel recognize that Palestinians are humans and act accordingly, which is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
Of course as an artist you can point out problems without having the solution
That's literally the job of any political art.
When Picasso painted Guernica, nobody asked him to propose terms for a cease fire.
Because that would be ridiculous.
Its easy clout for them.
Yeah, having some of the most powerful people in the world doing their best to take away your livelihood because you object to genocide is SUCH an easy mode grift! 🙄
Another reason to not like "taking sides" is avoiding potential aggravation of fans agains local jews
Again with the antisemitic conflating of "Israeli war criminals and other Zionists, most of which are Evangelical Christians" and "all jews" 🙄
Its the responsible cowardly and complicit thing to do.
Yeah, that's why evangelical Christians are so gung ho for the Apartheid state:
the biblical prophecies they take literally require all Jewish people to be in the area at the time of Armageddon so that most of them can be converted to Christianity and the rest can be slaughtered.
They murdered concert goers too. There were hundreds of vehicles in the area of the music festival that had the roofs smashed downward by explosives from above. Hamas had no capabilities to inflict that kind of damage on those vehicles. It was reported by IDF officers that the Hannibal Directive was used to justify "shooting anything that moves" in the area that included the festival, and 14 attack helicopters fired all their munitions and resupplied and continued shooting at vehicles on that day. There were also attack drones used for similar strikes on vehicles in the area with missiles. There are also the reports of IDF tanks being order to shoot at homes in the area that contained captives. The IDF are likely responsible for many of the deaths of Israelis and festival goers.
Nof Erez, a former senior Israeli Air Force official, said that a "mass Hannibal Directive” was employed that day.
“There was crazy hysteria,” one source told Haaretz. “No one had a clue about the number of people kidnapped or where army forces were.”
Heavy Israeli fire was also aimed at a fence between Israel and Gaza. At first, soldiers were instructed that "no vehicles should be allowed to re-enter the Gaza Strip”, according to a security source who spoke with Haaretz. Then an order was issued to "turn the fence area into an extermination zone". At night, an order was given to "open live fire at anyone approaching the area [the fence]”.
In April 2024, the Israeli army published its findings regarding the death of Israeli hostage Efrat Katz. The report stated: "During the battles and the airstrikes, one of the combat helicopters that took part in the fighting fired at a vehicle containing terrorists - and which, in retrospect… also contained hostages… most of the terrorists operating the vehicles were killed as a result of the shooting, and apparently Efrat Katz."
The Israeli army also fired at a house at kibbutz Be'eri, where Hamas fighters were holding 15 Israeli hostages. Barak Hiram, a brigadier general, said in an interview with the New York Times in December that he ordered tank shells to be fired at the house as negotiations were now over. “Break in, even at the cost of civilian casualties.” Only two hostages survived.
But no, let's not talk about the slow rolling genocide ongoing since the end of WWII, we have to look at one little event in the last decade and pretend it's the start of the problem.
Fuck Israel and anyone who supports them. Especially through this mealy mouthed 'both sides are at fault' horse shit.
Basically both are committing it at this point. Just Israel has more firepower through USA. Things would look worse if it was the other way around. See oct 7 to get a glimpse of that reality. Or Afghanistan to taste unchecked islamism hamas wants to implement.
Yes, we just found out that Netanyahu probably knowingly let it happen, seemingly to stay out of prison, and kick the long, slow genocide into a higher gear. Israel never wanted peace, that's why Netanyahu helped create and fund Hamas. It wants the land, without the people of Palestine living there.
Shema Yisrael, most of the "Local Jews" I know, think it's very clear Israel has gone way beyond what's reasonable or justifiable and are sick of being tarred with blood libel by people using their names to defend the Israeli genocide. They're also sick of being ghettoized by loud, wealthy zionists who are acting as anti-semitic against the diaspora as some of the the actual anti-semites.
Hamas isnt eradicated. You'd just see the same shit happen every 3 years. Of course israel went beyond whats morally acceptable but thats what ed sheeran agrees on. Both sides.
And you just added another hundred years to how many times it will happen every 3 years. You cannot kill your way out of this. You will only make more threats.
"The (UN) inquiry commission said Israeli authorities had not allowed its team to access victims, witnesses, the sites of the attack, or evidence related to rape, sexual torture or sexual mutilation."
"The commission said it had "not been able to reach a definitive conclusion" as to whether rape, gang rape, sexual torture or genital mutilation occurred because it hadn't been able to talk to survivors or witnesses or access the places where the attacks took place. The report added that Israeli authorities had actively "obstruct[ed] the Commission's access to information related to sexual violence" by not responding to requests for information or calls for testimonies, or by banning medical doctors from talking to the commission because they cited distrust about the commission's intentions towards Israel."
Tldr no evidence of any rape, Israel actively blocked UN attempts to gather evidence of it and at least two rape claims have been completely debunked.
u/Waterpumpee: this is a well worn path for what used to be western civilization, and enshrined in the UN charter than Israel and the US both signed. Using violence for self defense has to satisfy 3 ideas for it to be legitimate. (1) You have to have honestly exhausted peaceful means. (2) It has to be due to a real threat rather than an imagined one, and (3) it has to be proportional.
Palestinian civilians were never a threat.
Nor were all peaceful means exhausted by Israel. They never honored what deals they made, going all the way back to partition, and they assassinate negotiators and journalists as a policy.
And even considering Israels framing of Palestinians as a unified block-- where all Palestinians are somehow hamas killers, which is obviously a bankrupt racist idea and a war crime-- the violence leveled on Palestinians for the last 80 years has never been proportional to what Israel was then answered with. Israelis prided themselves on a 10-1 or 100-1 ratio of victims. If a kid throws a rock they kill the whole family.
Palestinians have a legitimate right to self defense and Israelis just dont have a leg to stand on in terms of a justification for using force. they really never have since the first 5 minutes of Israels existence when they launched the Nakba displacing 100s of thousands and murdering like crazy. Israelis are terrorists. Its really that simple, and the logic of it really cant be disproven.
The western world should be boots on the ground there, today, making sure the israelis respect the UN charter they promised they would honor when they signed the document, and containing them in the land they agreed to stay in when the country was started. They wont do it themselves so they need to be contained militarily for the good of the planet. This war with Iran is another front on their war, and no one else wanted it or gains from it.

He had zero problem being political with Ukraine, when it was pretty universally accepted.
His problem isn’t politics, it’s actually having a backbone and standing up against any sort of adversity.
As always, Miss Rachel 100% on point
No. The proper thing to do is take the stage and repeat Macklemores words and cover the song Macklemore covered.
No that's how you attempt to save face now.

Yeah, but people will take any reason to hate on the Patriots lol. Patriots being known as pro genocide might turn people anti genocide just because haha.
Won't somebody think of the children?!? (Not the Palestinian ones)
Oh, the fucking irony...
Macklemore was vocally against Biden and proclaimed he wouldn't vote for him.
He didn't pick a side. I presume he didn't vote for Trump, but he sure convinced folks not to vote for Biden.
Trump is raping the US and the world right now.
Edit: Fuck anyone who doesn't oppose Israel's genocide.
Harris was less out of touch but she was not allowed to deviate from Biden policy positions at all, and it cost her the election.
he had a song where he called on people to abstain from voting for biden
Biden won & he's still doing the correct thing now, so you can take your silly strawman & ride it off into the sunset. 😘
Harris' loss is 100% her own fault.
He's an autistic asshole what tf u expect. 😭

I cannot imagine someone “both sidesing” a brutal fucking genocide. But here we are.
Ed Sheeran is a murder-supporting piece of nazi trash, and he is doing it for money.
Yeah, sounds quite similar.
Don't forget Bennie Netanyahu's literal suitcases of money he gave them secretly because he needed an excuse to continue the war mobilization

No but nobody cared till they leveled the place this time.
80 years of making the wrong political decision at every fork in the road.
Always on the wrong side of things.
Eventually that catches up with you. No matter who you are.
That is what we are seeing unfold in Gaza in our present times.
Walking out on the U.N. partition plan negotiations back in 1948 was a tragic mistake, and it's only become more disastrous with the passage of the years and decades since then.
No musician or singer poncing about on stage like an uninformed idiot before a crowd of even less informed idiots can change anything about those facts.
Your comment breaks no community/site-wide rule. That doesn't make it blatantly horrible.
What you're saying is "collective punishment is the way we should handle this".
Take your down-votes, and read the room next time.
No, I merely observe that it appears the Palestinians in Gaza are experiencing collective punishment at the hands of the Israelis at the moment, and that sometimes in the course of human affairs collective punishment has been known to happen- especially in war & in "special military operations"
Wow, no response. Figures.
I'm betting it's the lack of paragraphs.
bloody waste of words..
That was not a lot of words. Maybe you should work on your reading. Or you could just fuck all the way off. Either choice would be a net benefit to the world.
Apparently words are wasted on you. Too dense for them to get through
Whatever you say chubs.
If Palestine agreed to give up the most fertile part of their land, to the government that just invaded and genocided them, do you think Israel would have stopped?
Why do you engage with trash when the block button is RIGHT THERE?
Some people’s ideas don’t fucking matter.
The Trump administration calls it "Flooding the zone". You're right, it's quite deliberate.
You're going to need to be less vague with what you're saying. Vague, but strongely worded comments are a hallmark of conspiracy nuts
TLDR: all of the kids getting blown up in schools and hospitals really fucked up when they walked out of the 1948 UN partition plan negotiations and had this coming.
Ser Davos was always wise.
Ed is only versed in DeVos
Thank dog I never gave a crap about his music. I look forward to ignoring his future commercial endorsements for CapitalOne Bank and Smirnoff Ice.
stealing the "thank dog" thanku
The funny thing is that I have no interest in watching ed Sheeran, and here in Australia, pretty sure a lot of people would rather watch Macklemore
Sophie Scholl and her little group opposed the Nazis from inside Germany, she was executed 22. February 1943, she was 21 years old
Alternative for Germany trying to use Sophie Scholl on their marketing was wild.
He's in love with the shape of 💵
...the shape of EUR
GBP. The UK never had the euro.
But they wanted to rhyme with "shape of you" ;)
Cunningham is bad ass, always has been.

Exactly what he deserved for being a selfish coward. Hahaha, sucks to suck!

How does one boycott Ed Sheeran when you already skip all his drivel?
Through mockery.
I made a reminder at work that Target took down lgbt products, removed "DEI" language out of their policies, and did a racism when I saw the party planner bought some shit from Target for a pizza party. Immediately the dog piling began and she's terrified to bring a target bag here again.
Serious question, what is the alternative for target as Amazon and others are at least as bad?
I understand Costco, I think it was, consistently made the opposite choices from Target. That's off the top of my mind, though, so do check for yourself.
Depends what you're trying to buy. Don't get everything at superstores, engage with your local community

Is not about taking celebraties opinion, it fan not wanting to support a genocide supporter
Right, he should be boycotted for this. He took a side.
No one should get their political opinions from celebrities, but so many do.
Agreed. people can say what they want. My point was the listeners shouldn't be taking the word of non-experts as truth or putting much stock in what they have to say at all.
The article reads exactly that though, he is against it, but doesn't want to drag politics to his performance.
Well, he didn't really have a choice. The owner of the venue dragged him into it by demanding he deplatform Macklemore and he folded and kicked Macklemore off his tour. That's taking a side and he chose the wrong one.
Liam Cunningam seems like a pretty good dude.
Was one of my favorite characters in an otherwise unlikable show (GoT)
Take note, Switzerland. Neutrality is a cop out.
Switzerland has a pro-fascist history. They're neutral like visa/MasterCard is neutral.
I thought they definitely pro nazi gold...
Yep and his "promoters decision" cowards framing is spineless.
How long before he caves?
He can't possibly play his next show, can he? If he does, the only gig he'll get after this is the Republican Convention.
I wish you were right but…honestly Zionism and genocide are highly tolerated in this country.
I mean, practically speaking, he probably won't be playing his next show given that his touring band and all his other openers quit in protest. So unless it's going to be four hours of Ed and an acoustic guitar...
Kanye West is also playing at those same stadiums that banned Macklemore.
Well yeah, Israel is more tolerant of antisemitism than antizionism
His band and opening performers quit. I'm not sure how he could do a show. Apparently with Macklemore on the tour the Epstein class venue owners were starting to refuse him locations to play, so he caved, and now artists don't want to work with him.
I did not foresee Isreal/Palestine unseating Ed Sheeran's popular image, but here we are.
Never forget that Ed Sheeran showing up in Game Of Thrones was the harbinger of its inevitable ruin.
Apathy feeds the oppressor.
Its probably the only real attention he's gotten for a while.
And this is why I try to stay detached from entertainers.
It's great if they turn out to be decent people who are willing to stand up for good causes but it always hurts to find out when they're like this.
His soccer team got destroyed by a 16 year old today, too. Love to see it.
The Onion Knight is pretty awesome in real life.
He looks different without the helmet!
Good. Maybe it will get worse.
What if you take a stance but that stance makes the genocide worse?
well hes taking Kraft's side, hes very involved with him.
“We could change this whole world with a piano Add a bass, some guitar, grab a beat and away we go”

hello all I am new
Hey New! Interesting name.
thank you hehehehe
No one would think he was the bad guy if he publicly condemned Robert. More importantly, he could probably sue the shit out of him for this.
For real. Sheeran is a household name. Kraft is not. Tell him to kick rocks and talk to your lawyer. Ugh. So unprofessional all around
Yeah, it's a hard choice. And, so far, he's made the wrong one.
And if not then, definitely now. 3 of his opening acts and his own supporting band have now cancelled their performances...
Yeah, he's proper fucked now. That's a career killer.
He has enough money to sod off in some luxury resort for the rest of his life anyway.
Soooooo. You don't mind genocide?
My opinions are not so frivolous as to be paraded around for social clout.
Says the dude posting his opinions online to be paraded around for social clout, lol.
If there is a question with a simple and absolutely right answer, it's the one the user above made to you. Yet you managed to not answer it. Wow.
You're not the victim here bro.
Anyone who is victimized is a victim, the existence of greater victims do not discount the existence of lesser victims. Victimization is a binary, not graded on a scale.
Social causes are not excuses to vent your pent-up anger at life because you are unable to live skillfully.
Lotta projection there. Have a good life
Sure, these people must be into social causes because of some hokey amateur psychoanalysis, it can’t possibly be that people are simply not into political violence.
The only people I have known in person who act like that are serious monsters. One is even in prison now.

Remove the last two words and that's Israel.
IDF's claims that Hamas committed mass rape and/or used rape as a weapon on October 7th have never been substantiated. Unlike the IDF themselves.
that's still the IDF.
You're comparing a few primitive rockets with no guidance systems a week to a systematic genocide deliberately targeting civilians including children and somehow arriving at the former being worse.
Nope, "the jews" aren't "the grand evil".
The state of Israel, on the other hand, is a fascist apartheid state that has been inherently and enthusiastically genocidal for 80 years and categorically denies all responsibility for its countless atrocities
"Those who make peaceful resistance impossible will make violent resistance inevitable."
-- JFK, edited to fit
No. Geopolitical mafia methods from the US, Germany, the UK, and other allies of the fascist apartheid regime is why most governments don't dare point out the absurdly obvious.
They have several, but all of the good ones require that Israel recognize that Palestinians are humans and act accordingly, which is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
That's literally the job of any political art.
When Picasso painted Guernica, nobody asked him to propose terms for a cease fire. Because that would be ridiculous.
Yeah, having some of the most powerful people in the world doing their best to take away your livelihood because you object to genocide is SUCH an easy mode grift! 🙄
Again with the antisemitic conflating of "Israeli war criminals and other Zionists, most of which are Evangelical Christians" and "all jews" 🙄
Fixed it for you.
The IDF are likely responsible for many of the deaths of Israelis and festival goers.
https://www.middleeasteye.net/explainers/israel-war-gaza-what-hannibal-directive-why-controversial
https://www.rfi.fr/en/middle-east/20231105-a-month-of-israel-hamas-war-has-changed-everything
This link shows a photo of many vehicles with roofs mashed downward, and attributes the damage to Hamas attacks, which really makes no sense at all.
It's probably the side that's been trying to empty Palestine for 80 fucking years. The whole state of Israel was founded on the ethnic cleansing of Palestine to make room for themselves.
The side that wants the genocide is the one committing the genocide
Simple as that
Basically both are committing it at this point. Just Israel has more firepower through USA. Things would look worse if it was the other way around. See oct 7 to get a glimpse of that reality. Or Afghanistan to taste unchecked islamism hamas wants to implement.
Go and educate yourself please Look at some numbers And this didn’t start on October 7th. Long before that
What are you even talking about?
The Arab League put a peace offer on the table, under which Israel would withdraw to 1967 borders, and Hamas would recognize its existence.
Israel never addressed it. The answer is Israel. Israel wants genocide.
idk about history that far back. there are internationally accepted borders which are not honored by israel. thats bad.
Oct 7 was a tipping point though.
You will only make more threats.
https://www.snopes.com/news/2024/06/20/un-evidence-sexual-violence-hamas/
Only Israeli claims of rape exist.
Wasnt UN actually involved in financing this shit? UNRWA.
Plausible to not trust them any inch.
Israel has funded and supported Hamas too https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_support_for_Hamas
Disgusting fucking comment.
u/Waterpumpee: this is a well worn path for what used to be western civilization, and enshrined in the UN charter than Israel and the US both signed. Using violence for self defense has to satisfy 3 ideas for it to be legitimate. (1) You have to have honestly exhausted peaceful means. (2) It has to be due to a real threat rather than an imagined one, and (3) it has to be proportional.
Bruh. It's not too late to delete this comment... and your Lemmy account.
Loud minority on this topic is just that. Loud.
You're not that loud.
