I have been thinking about this for a while to the point of anxiety. Outside of the conclaves of Asheville and Boone we have a lot of people who are MAGA or just don't care to vote. With Chuckie saying he will not run again that leave the GOP to shove another Mark Meadows in here or even worse. Not sure how there can be worse than those tow but I keep getting surprised. Last few weeks I have become increasingly concerned over the political climate in the US. I have been thinking about how better to arm myself. I even traded away a gun that I never use in a weird caliber for something I will carry. A couple years ago I bought an AR and I can't stand those things I bought one just for this. And I'm sure some of you will make a comment about me hating AR's but being ex-military and enjoying guns I just did not enjoy owning an AR it wasn't the type of gun that I wanted to. But here we are.

I have bought plenty of 9 mm and 556 because that's primarily the guns that I own I don't think I need anymore 45/70. I've thought about getting a more inconspicuous rifle to carry. I mean around where I live there's a very big hunting culture and nobody would look sideways at me having a bolt action rifle in my truck but they might look sideways at me if I have a tricked out AR. They probably wouldn't but you know I'm starting to get a certain level of paranoia that I actually hate having.

Anyway long story short I'm just wondering how all of you are feeling and what you're doing to prepare if you're doing anything.

I have been thinking about this a lot lately. Trump is called the California election rigged and it is just the primaries. He is going to ramp up and so will his followers. At this point I have no idea how this is all going to play out. Groups like this one in Waynesville make me concerned. https://northcarolinamilitia.com/ I have reported numerous groups like this to NC law enforcement, the AG, and the National Guard. They don't seem to care. As you might not know during Helene there was a group going around "hunting" FEMA in the Lake Lure area. These people concern me. After the election in November if it does not go Trump's way he will stir up these groups. I hope to whatever power you follow that nothing happens but we all saw what went on in Minnesota and is still going on. I do not know where I am going with this. I just don't know. figure out a way to protect yourself.
