I made a bullseye with my sling today
The picture isn't mine, I just grabbed an example of a balearic sling. But I got a bullseye today and then walked away, letting it be my last throw. It felt damn good, not gonna lie
I also mowed, trimmed the shrubs, ran some errands, and yadda yadda. But that perfect sling was the highlight of my day
Also got my legs tore up by mosquitoes, so bug spray will now be a must. But at least I remembered sunscreen! Little wins today
Y'all are so weird here... and I love it!
Just felt like showing some appreciation. Thank's y'all
Fed up with a few locks, finally got some universal keys
I like to lockpick, but I'm not that fast at it and sometimes just need to open a cabinet quick (looking at you, work... I just need to restart the computer, not call IT and wait 2 days for someone to press a button)
Are there any "Whiteboard" apps, programs, or services that will cross-platform between an iPhone and Linux?
My wife is looking for an app that helps her save information from brainstorming, and is visually helpful. Most times, she's using her phone to search out her ideas and save them (pdf's, links, text, pictures) on her iphone's "Freeform app", but wants to be able to open it on our computer for more "in-depth refining"
I'm looking at maybe "Miro" but don't know anything about it. Wondering if anyone has any other suggestions or more elegant solutions
A notebook and pen is always a thing she uses, but it's not as streamlined. I appreciate any ideas, or if there's a better community to ask this in
Who recognizes who around here?
The threadiverse is small (compared to other major platforms) and I often see usernames that I recognize. How well do we notice each other around here?
I'll start... my name's "MrShankles" and I do be commenting/posting from time to time
How can I be a better drummer?
I've played drums "off and on" my entire life; but I keep getting stumped by 'fluency'. Any tips for motivation or fun lessons?
How far back can you remember to your childhood?
Specifically, as in having memories from being younger than 3 years old and even further
I orient myself's own timeline upon some early-childhood memories, but some people have questioned it as false memory... which, understandable
But I can draw the layout of every house I've lived in, who's room was who's, where furniture was, certain events (like having gum melt in my diaper, crying in my crib about not trick-or-treating, seeing my first "flying-leaf" insect) and a lot of other random tidbits
A lot of it I've been able to confirm as true, which is what has always intrigued me. How far back is average? I think the furthest I can grasp is around 2 years old or maybe a little less
Maybe some of it has to do with trauma-ish things or something? But I can literally remember the potpourri on my mom's dresser when she was holding me, who was at my 3rd birthday... and just, kinda far back
What's everyone else's memory like here? I feel like my early pre-teens was kinda a blur, but my early childhood seems more vibrant sometimes. I dunno, I was just curious
A penis has the "second-most" microexpressions, compared to a face
I have zero basis in that statement, it's a thought
egg_irl?
I hope this post doesn't break community rules, but I just wanted to say thanks. It felt like my "egg cracked differently" today. Wasn't sure where to post
I wanted to thank y'all. I don't know that I'm right, in trying to explain it with words, such as "egg cracked"— cause I'm not sure that I can say that. But I think, (thanks in large part) from hearing y'all; I found me again. Not entirely and whole... but I see me again
It feels like my egg cracked differently, if that make sense? It was always just me. So now I know I would probably never transition, because I'm already happy to see me when I see my reflection
But I wanted to say thanks, for helping me see you, and helping me see me. Sorry if it's corny. But I'm forever grateful for that insight. I appreciate you
Wtf did facebook marketplace just suggest to me?
Idk if this is the right community, but I was absolutely FLOORED this morning by this notification; and needed people to see (so I don't feel so crazy)
I'm moving and trying to sell a futon... so I'm using facebook marketplace. But it refuses to let me turn off notifications about "suggestions", and I guess I just have to deal with it for now
What the actual fuck kinda notification just popped onto my phone though (from facebook's marketplace)? Idk what to even do after seeing it, so here I am trying to make sense of it in anyway I can
What the actual fuck y'all?.
Any nurses lurking around here on Lemmy? Is there a medical community for general discussion, debriefing, comradery, and/or stories/memes?
Was wondering if the medical field was large enough around here to have an active community (or if I'm just not finding it). Think we could get one going if there's enough of us here?
