The coward didn't even include Reagan. Too many Republicans worship Reagan, and his fragile ego doesn't let him share the number one spot.

135

Utter betrayal that he put Clinton in average but didn't put Reagan or either Bush at all. Fucking boomerslop.

5

He's probably just too senile to remember Reagan. Ironic, since I think that's how Reagan went, too...

4

Because it’s an edit of a page from a magazine from the 40’s. Wilson is the most recent president listed, except for Obama, Biden, Clinton, and Carter, whom Trump added with AI. He doesn’t know who the fuck these people are. He even forgot he was praising McKinley as the greatest president of all time just last year, and left him in the “average” tier here.

It's not an exaggeration to say we are all forcibly being made dumber by Trump, because we are wasting finite energy and attention that we should be using for self-improvement and instead are spending those resources on keeping track of the sociopathic imbecile with the nuclear codes. It's exhausting.

51

I stopped paying attention halfway through his first term. It was like a TV show you stop watching because you began to understand the formula of an episode.

1
lemmy.world

I'm a bit surprised he didn't include Reagan. A lot of conservative boomers think the sun shone out of Reagan's ass. I know most of them are now fully in the Cult of Trump. But Ronnie's exclusive still seems like an unnecessarily risky move.

26

Though if they included Reagan then people would be comparing Reagan's policies with trump's policies and seeing how different they are.

And yet if they did include Reagan they would have to put him high up. Awkward.

You believe he actually thought about this? He asked a random AI to do it and never checked it at all. Maybe to see where Obama ended up

9

Yeah he didn't want to anger anyone by saying Bush sucked or that he was better than Reagan. Definitely intentional.

2
retrofed.com

He left out every Republican president from the past 70 years, no Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, HW Bush, or W Bush

64

He was alive for all of them. My bet is any ranking of them on this list would cause controversy among his base, because many of them are revered by some and reviled by many

13

I noticed the same thing! I was like "where did they put their lord and saviour Reagan" and then noticed they just punted by not even putting them into the tier list! Cowardly fuckers!

Putting Grant at the bottom is always a dog whistle. It's lost cause propaganda. Straight up KKK shit.

47

Putting Grant below Buchanan is a fog horn.

That is literally saying reconstruction was worse than the civil war itself.

7

Yeah my first thought was "Did he seriously list the Civil War general under 'failures'?" Holy shit...

2

Just like all those peaked-in-highschool fucktards wearing ALPHA tshirts.

If you have to tell someone you're an Alpha...you're NOT alpha

Bro made a president tier list and put Jackson in A tier. Wild self-report there.

31
Sharkticonreply

Jackson in the top tier, Grant in the bottom tier, and Buchanan not in the bottom tier. Just say you got this list straight from the grand wizard of the KKK. Cuz that's obviously where it came from.

I don't think Lincoln would be so high.

I assume that the current administration sees the Trail of Tears as a good thing.

4
lemmy.world

Leaving Nixon out because the optics of having him the “Great” category I’m sure, based on how his mind works. “This guy cheated and lied, one of my own and someone I can relate to!”

28

But why is bush jr and ant and Reagan left out. It's like all current day presidents are left out unless I can shit on them.

3

He used tariffs, so he can't go too low on this list. Don't worry about the correlation between tariffs and the great depression citizen, big brother does the thinking for you so you can focus on sports and your two minutes hate

9

Crashing the economy is a quality to cuckservatives. That's why they keep voting for losers that do it.

2

Of the quite relevant ones, Dementia Diapers Dodo casually forgot Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, Reagan, Bush and Bush Jr.

Edit: oh, and Ford.

26

They left out Eisenhower. Probably because even though he was republican he advocated for social programs. Can’t put him in the winners section because commie, can’t put him in the losers section because republican.

26
lemmy.world

There are only 34 presidents in this list. 11 are missing entirely, notably including Eisenhower, Truman, both Bushes, Reagan, Nixon, Ford, LBJ, and Kennedy. Like... big relevant names including very notable Republicans. 9 of the last 14 from the last 81 years missing. Are they stupid or strategically leaving them out of the comparison with Trump and others becuase it is politically tricky due to their recentcy but not so recent as to be part of the culture wars? The only 4 in there besides himself were Obama, Biden, Carter and Clinton. All democrats that were alive during his presidency. Not a coincidence, I'm sure.

Also, the idea that trump knows a damn thing about most of these presidents, let alone enough to reasonable compare them and judge their overall effectiveness and legacy is laughable.

24
lemmy.ml

Where the fuck is the only President who dropped two atom bombs on an enemy civilian population? Love him or hate him, to leave him out is absolutely insane!

20

He was poor. Therefore completely ignored by Trump

6

At least the guy behind the greatest genocide in American history made the "great" list.

2
lemmy.world

FDR in the great tier is the second dumbest thing on there.

If his proposals where in the table the republicans would have a collective meltdown.

19

And Grant as a failure? Literally the next Republican elected after Lincoln.

This is probably some incel white supremacist president list to start with, where nothing makes any sense.

6

Even ignoring the top spot, this is a really weird list. I feel like he just asked an AI to make a meme that makes him look like the chad and Obama/Biden look like the soyjack.

18

My first thought, too.

Ulysses S. Grant a failure? Ooooh, I just looked, it's because he was seen as defeating the KKK by use of the Force acts of the Reconstruction amendments. Ok, well that checks out.

Some Groyper probably had Grok make this and of course dingus retweets it.

8

100%, the dude does not read about presidents. It's just ragebait.

Pretty sure he's not even posting on his truth account this year

Sorry to tell you it isn't just boomers.

3

its funny how "positive" he spoke of him compared to others, republicans and thier voters. and barely did a pushback when clinton was associated with epstein, likely knowing that dragging clinton through the dirt will bring to much attention upon himself. hillary all bets are off.

2
lemmy.world

Besides trump himself, he thinks Andrew Jackson was a great president? Jackson was a racist. Indian removal act, trail of tears, slave owner and slavery supporter. He was a walking human failure.

16

It's Trump. At this point I'm surprised he didn't include Adolph in the second row then claim he was misunderstood

5
lemmy.world

FDR was screamed at in his own time for imposing "socialism" in the form of the New Deal - including the Social Security system, which MAGA is bent on eradicating.

15
Stolasreply
lemmy.ca

They don't see that. Rather they see FDR as this populist and aggressive manly man who didn't take no for an answer, particularly in respect towards how he proceeded to take a third term in office.

5

Yeah, I thought MAGA hated FDR.

Though I'm sure zero thought was given to this an it was generated by a prompt that only mentioned Trump should be at the top, and Biden, Obama, and Carter should be at the bottom.

Interesting they didn't tell the AI to also put Clinton at the bottom. Guess Trump still has a soft spot for Clinton out of nostalgia for when they hung out together at Epstein's house.

4

I might be talking out of my ass, but my understanding for why he didn't get universal healthcare in was because then black people would get it

2

How much of a narcacist do you need to be to post something like this lol.

I propose a new word, trumpist, which is a step above narcissism

14

If other people say you’re really cool, you’re probably really cool. If you constantly have to tell everyone that you are cool, you’re a pathetic fucking loser.

13

Americans should siege the fucking white house right now

12

That's what Trumps preparing for. It's why he keep rambling about his stupid ballroom, 'cause he's building a bunker under it for protection when shit hits the fan.

2

When he had an AI generate it, he probably specified where Carter, Obama, and Biden went, and let the AI do the rest. Everyone always ranks FDR highly because progressive policies are super effective, so that's what the AI did.

10

They appreciated his redlining policies to keep people of color out of white neighborhoods.

6

People get their policy positions from their leaders, to a point.

It the leader says FDR is good, wwii, putting America to work, etc, then the base will believe those things.

It only doesn't work when you push too far, like when Trump briefly tried to promote the COVID vaccine.

3

I think it is funny how bitter he is about Biden and Obama because Biden won an election and Obama is praised. Carter got dealt a crappy hand.

10
lemmy.zip

kinda shocked he holds Lincoln in that mush esteem

9
lemmy.today

I have to wonder what other previous presidents that were considered crappy might have done with social media. Would any of them be anywhere near this absurd?

8

One president used federal funds to deface a mountain by having a giant, 60 ft tall sculpture of his own face carved into it, right next to the faces of the presidents widely considered to be the greatest. That's pretty much the energy of this post.

5

I don't get it. Even if i were american, and treat the president like a celebrity, and celebrities like gods and so american to believe that gods are real. I think i'd still look at this and think: hah, that is fucking weird.

8

Yeah. We'd love to,, but we cannot. Your country is impossible to invade like we did Nazi Germany. It's up to you. Civil war, popular uprising, or miraculous democratic solution, it's all down to the people of America to save themselves this time.

2

This is the kid in chat who goes "EZ WIN GG, HARD CARRYING" when they were bottom of the board with a 1-20 k/d.

8

Yeah I wondered how Clinton got to be so high on the list.

2
sopuli.xyz

Extremely funny that latest republicans are not included. Hey, what about Nixon?

8

Not surprising that he's a fan of Jackson. An autocrat and populist with no interest in the law or respecting opposition who committed genocide.

7

Wasn't he really into trade tariffs too? Maybe Trump feels an affinity with him over that (and also about both of them being chronic failures in general).

2

Interesting he put McKinley as average since he looks up to him so much (renamed a mountain after him) Maybe he doesnt want people looking into what happened to the last president who instilled a widespread tariff policy...

6

i will argue up and down that taft was the greatest individual to occupy the office of president of the united states. NOT just because they had to redesign the bathtub after he got stuck in it, but because he was an accomplished jurist and then chief justice of the supreme court. until trump both does that AND gets himself named head of the senate and then dies from overwork, he'll be second best. because he dead.

5

Taylor was one of the most popular presidents who happened to die of illness during his presidency.

If it weren't for modern medicine, Trump would have likely succumbed to COVID when he had it.

No logic here.

4

So many Americans are like, "this is fine, he's just joking around!"

3

President responsible for ushering in 100 years of segregation and Jim Crowe laws... Average

2

Oh makes sense. On the one hand, helped form the Democratic Party, OTOH big role in the Trail of Tears. Tough to know if he's an ally or not ;) :'(

1

A better format would have been one of those tier-list templates that all the streamers and youtubers use.

2

I'm not American, and this is maybe the first time I've seen FDR listed as FD Roosevelt. Is that the same Roosevelt as Teddy? Or just a coincidence?

1

It is the same Roosevelt family, yes, they were distant (fifth) cousins. FDR's wife, Eleanor Roosevelt, was also Teddy Roosevelt's niece.

It's worth remembering that while FDR is frequently seen as a radical progressive, the reality is that he came out of an established political family, and his New Deal policies were driven less by some radical ideology and more by recognizing what the moment demanded, and being willing to act on that. If anything, FDR was somewhat reserved in implementing the New Deal and in some cases, he even attempted to roll back his own policies prematurely.

In normal circumstances, he might have been an unremarkable president, but he rose to the challenge and recognized that the economic crisis in front of him required a functional, active government, which created a political will even within the political establishment to break the fundamental US norms that the government isn't supposed to ever do anything good or useful.

3

Fifth cousins. The Roosevelt family is / was a political dynasty alongside the Adams, Harrison and Bush families

1

I recently discovered that Abraham Lincoln was a distant cousin of the Harrisons, as was Elvis Presley. So with three presidents and a king, I would say that you could probably call that one the biggest political dynasty so far.

1

I wouldn't bother giving attention to Trump's social media posts. It's time to move into other people's posts
