Right? I am not capable of believing in anything harder than I believe in the gullibility of those rubes and their constant role as useful idiots

15

I believe in it harder than they believe in the next grift.

They believe whitehouse.gov/aliens is about actual aliens from outer space

I don't think it'd be much of a fight. Conservatives get their jollies from hurting others feelings. AI has no feelings, and data centers are just buildings.

So conservatives could yell at a data cdnter "I FUCKED YOUR MOTHER!!!" and the data center would still be a brick building without feelings.

Data centers are next gen Planned Parenthoods, the ones where post-birth abortions are performed.

Well then it'll have to be Sam Altman, then. And probably Thiel, and any other gay billionaire. Actually, just all the billionaires. No sense discriminating on the basis of sexual identity.

Or denied by the right person.

Lucky (?) For us the guy at the top is losing his mind and will believe anything you say to him as long as it is framed as a compliment and offers him a way to make a dollar.

You ever hear of the radio production "War of the Worlds"?

Hell, were you around a few years ago when they were all raising hell about litterboxes in schools for kids who identify as cats?

19

I am in no way pushing back that the general public will fall for stupid obvious bullshit, that keeps happening and will always happen.

However, since I find it so fascinating I want to shine some light on your first example. Among historians and sociologists it's widely accepted that the Orsen Wells "War of the Worlds" broadcast did not cause widespread panic as the over sensationalizing newspapers reported. Which was quite common for the essentially click bait reporting of the time. Sure some people probably did belive it was an invasion, but there wasn't mass looting in the street and was a much tamer "outrage" from what most people today belive occurred.

Did sell a lot of papers tho.

I'm almost curious enough to look for transmasc pregnancy porn...

Option 1): AI is genetically enabling gay couples to become "pregnant" by match a surrogates DNA to their partners in order to find their perfect "Gayby" offspring. Allowing gay men to produce a baby with similar genes to their loved one.

Option 2): AI companies are now helping newly transitioned women to have their genes spliced with womb donors, in order to further research into male-born pregnancy. The first baby conceived by two people of male DNA is espected happen to within the next two years, with doctors confident of current results.

Option 3): Men without families are now being targeted by an extremely addictive AI app. The app named Family Now is giving men the customized experience of having a wife, and even a child who looks like them, however some who play the game have reported feeling manipulated and addicted to it.

Conservatism is a top-down movement. Even if they are anti-AI at the start, they will fall in line once their masters (who consist of the very people with AI datacenters) push back. In fact, they will go full pro AI and kill their own town if Trump makes being pro-AI a MAGA issue.

Their personal beliefs are always overridden by those of their masters. They literally support a pedophile.

12

There are some places where the leadership has to turn to whatever their followers say.

Trump did push Operation Warp Speed to help push the COVID vaccinations faster through the regulations and manufacturing.

The fascinating moment was watching him become an anti-vaxxer. He had a speech gently encouraging people to get the vaccine, saying he got it, and said it should be anyones choice but he suggests they get it. The crowd turned on him and booed and he immediately dropped it. After that day he was pure antivax.

It means there is potential to get some nonsense conspiracy from the ground up under these assholes. It's hard, but its possible.

MAGA is mostly a group of Boomers that have just gotten the hang of the internet within the last 10 years or so. They are still in the "trolling" child-like phase of using the internet.

However, this is slowly morphing into a conspiracy oriented culture. They tell weird stories to each other and other people pretend to believe the stories and add to them. This is why they seem so batshit crazy, they know half the stuff they say is idiotic ... but they like the reactions they get from "the libs" ... its another form of trolling.

So put a liberal hating spin on the story and it would work.

11

Some are stupid and actually believe everything they hear from "Dear Leader". A vast majority are just trolls and lonely boomers telling ghost stories to each other.

1

maga also includes farther right gen-z, and ge-xers to. prior to pandemic it was mostly boomers and gen x and now it includes alot of Z-ers/.

Part of the childbirth freedom and democracy act. Did you know that a womb isn't actually needed to give birth. Scientists at the UofT theorize that the organ is a left over from ancient days when babies needed more protection from daily danger. Now in our totally safe society it's redundant and men can just gestate babies in the space between their organs. Of course c-section is the preferred method of delivery but the alternative is not insurmountable.

11

Yes. Without question. They’re proven idiots. There is no world in a multiverse in which they wouldn’t, that is how fundamentally stupid those assholes are.

11

sure.

Sure. But that’s not the essence of what a shower thought is. Shower thoughts are pretty universally relatable and provide new perspectives on the mundane. This is neither. You can also have a shower thought outside of the shower.

Anything that filters through the emotional part of someone brain before the logical one would work.

But here we are.

Not a great leap to a different strand of bullshit that would leave the wider world agog. More agog. Agoger?

I have to wonder if they would be upset or joyous about this. Conservatives hate women and see them as nothing more than breeding stock. Would they see this as rendering women obsolete or reducing men to women’s roles?

reducing men to women’s roles

It will be this. 100% this. They don't hate women and see them as nothing more than breeding stock.

Conservatives love women, when they also do what they say, stay in the kitchen and "do womens work"

5

You only have to look at what flat earthers, chemtrailers or antivaxxers believe. Given that, "male pregnancy" should make a nice and straightforward addition.

5
lemmy.world

Surely, but it seems the point of the thought was speculation on turning AI's biggest proponents against it. He seems to be suggesting that Republicans are largely AI fanatics and other groups are not. I don't know if that's true or not, but I have noticed a strong correlation between authoritarian thinking and exceptional credulity, so long as the information appears to be coming from a friendly source.

5
lemmy.world

I speculate that passionate members of almost any group think their group is more intelligent, more moral, and generally better all-around human beings than members of the Evil group they despise. I mean, being right automatically means you must be smarter, right? And friendly sources are always credible, cuz my side (the Good side) wouldn't lie to me, right?

3

All true, but the level of credulity is staggering with these authoritarian thinkers, and seem unmatched anywhere else.

For example, it would be very hard for anyone to convince someone of something obviously verifiably false like the sky is actually red. However, if JD Vance claimed that there was a massive "blue sky hoax" perpetuated by George Soros and his ANTIFA thugs, I am quite sure that many Americans would be repeating that tomorrow. I can't imagine, say, a Unitarian priest convincing their parishioners of that.

3

Honesty I think liberal audiences would be much more likely to be fooled simply due to the left typically being more open to flexible gender roles.

5

"AI generated content contains subliminal messaging that turns you gay." And "Toxic chemicals leaking from data centers are turning locals gay."

How about that? I don't think they differentiate between gay and trans.

2

Conservatives are so stupid, you may find some white haired neck beard aiming his asshole toward the sun to make sure his son isn't born gay.

4

"But what if we channel and harness the immense power of their gullible retardation?"

4

No because Conservatives are Intellectuals TM that Do Their Own Research TM and can NOT be Fooled by ANYTHING! Literally NOTHING Fools Conservatives! They NEVER get Fooled by ANYTHING! I LOVE paying High Gas Prices!

3

Definitely. I can think of a dozen people off the top of my head who I know that definitely would believe this.

3

Capable of helping? No. Needs to be a conspiracy. Forcing it to happen. Maybe get some chuddy gay trans dudes a pass.
