Just wear em but then don't be an asshole. Disarm people. And call out people that assume you're an asshole and try to talk to you like you're one of them.

My partner is bald (not by choice) and white (also not by choice) and he gets racist people assuming he's racist all the time. Just call em out or make them feel weird if they say some fucked up shit to you.

Wear whatever you want and try not to care about what other people think of it.

These wrap around sunglass wont make you look like a conservative dad. And for only $1,500, you too can not look like a conservative dad.

Yes, there are REALLY $1,500. A bargin if you ask me.

You're not allowed to wear those unless you shave your head and put on a jump suit.

Tbh if you were to wear those and a lab coat, shaved head and a mustache you’d be a very, very crazy scientist

3

You are so right, I forgot about the mustache. But its got to be something like a horseshoe or a really big handlebar. Muttonchops might work too.

2

Instead you can be a techno-authoritarian autocrat thats plans are constantly ruined by an annoying blue hedgehog

5

I got a pair of oakleys second hand with some bold colors and put purple lenses in them. Guideline being, if the conservative dads would think you’re dressing queer, you’re doing it right!

16

Get some with color, conservatives are still afraid of being "gay".

Or just don't worry about it.

15

OK, my answer to this was going to be "no" but these actually look cool. I hate those modern ones the kids wear. They're ugly (in my opinion), expensive, and made out of cheap materials. These have a similar vibe, but like they're made by someone who understand style, instead of thinking something that stands out is style. Looking at the review pictures though, they definitely do T work for everyone. In particular, they look best with people with darker hair/skin. The blonde pale women I think it looks weird on.

I'm a 31 year old man though. Don't take my opinion on style.

Something I learned is that I stopped losing my sunglasses when they cost a fair amount. When I purchase cheap ones and don't give a shit, they break or are lost, and end up costing more. When I got nicer ones I never lost or broke them. Just a one time payment.

Now I wear prescription glasses (I did wear contacts), so they're both expensive and I can't live without them. Obviously losing or breaking them isn't something that happens now.

2

I also thought that until I lost my pair of very nice Costa Mesas. Luckily I didn't pay anywhere close to retail, but still, losing a $50 pair fucking hurt.

Julbo cycling glasses. They're also the best tint changing lens out there, but pricey, very pricey. They'll look sport-dorky, which is it's own weird vibe. I have these (got them on big sale) for cycling, hiking, and mountaineering. They have a non "cover" version that's more normal looking, too.

You do end up looking like Adam Jensen though.

I don’t know if these particular ones are actual sunglasses or toys, but I have some in that style that are proper polarised sunglasses; they certainly don’t look conservative.

6

I didn't even know sunglasses did that. Remember that when you're out in the real world you aren't on social media. Go ahead and wear whatever you want.

Honestly I don't care, I wear what I think looks good on me.

In my case though it's my regular glasses + transitions because I can't see shit without them.

Costco (maybe others too) have these new transition sunglasses and they work through your polarized windshield.

Basically they start out with a light tint but get darker depending on the amount of direct sunlight. I really love them because I don't have to switch going in and out of stores or whatever and I can wear them when it's partly cloudy without feeling like it's night out when under cloud cover.

2

That's what I have, got my new glasses last month. Even got a dark-greenish tint when darken.

2

Any time I see people wearing these, my first thought is that these are "high-speed, BJ glasses"

Is there a specific reason as to why you want wrap around sunglasses, apart from aestethics?

I mean if you need to work outdoors and need protection from the sun covering every angle or need protection from wind I can see that they are the only real option...

But if you are only looking for that kind of sunglasses for the style, I'd encourage you to look for other styles.

I am very happy with my Persol glasses from five years ago

Driving with flat sunglasses sucks due to the sun getting around all the gaps.

"Conservative Dad" can look quite fashionable if done right.

4

Those are the most generic sunglasses I can imagine. I'm pretty certain they don't say anything.

8

No offense taken. I picked them because they fit the most comfortably for me.

My wife says I look like I'm on vacation this time of year because of how I dress in addition to the sunglasses.

3

The old man sunglasses from the 90s that go over your prescription glasses

3

My eyes are very sensitive to light, so I've been using "Men in Black" - style wraparound sunglasses since the late 90's.

I am a dad, but pretty much as far from conservative one can be. Where I live conservative dads do not tend to use these at all.

3

Make sure to get the kind without colored reflections. Mirrored might work, if you’re fit. Dark tinted is your best bet.

3

wear thick linens and shaggy hair with beaded necklaces and you'll look more like a "guy who wont give his name" than any particular affiliation

2

Head shape matters. I only wear sports stuff for cycling and do not care what others think of that. My old Smith's saved an eye once. I only like to ride with frameless because roadie. The cheap Chinese NRC frameless are half decent. They have a full range photochromic version and their plasma metal sputtered coatings are good quality, but the lens shape is a basic flat. People think they are high end but mostly due to my other older riding gear that is very high end. Still, when casual I wear aviators.

I stopped wearing sunglasses because it's the look of fascism. Also no red ball caps as well. I don't see my flag in the same light anymore either because of these people.

1

Took you long enough. I haven't seen my flag in the same light since Reagan.

4

You have a flag?

I don't know man, I feel like patriotism is a racket. Why buy into it?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone remotely fitting that description wearing a pair of these…
