Seasoning a new grinder?

Just start making coffee. You might find it improves over time. Whether it's seasoning, you getting more consistent, or getting better at dialling in those beans, you may as well be drinking coffee during the process. I wouldn't just sit there and grind beans to throw away. It's too much of a waste.

Agile is shit and leads to worse outcomes.

The problem is that it's a lot easier to implement agile poorly, than it is to implement it in a way that works.

You've essentially described what agile shouldn't be. The fact it's called agile, means people assume it just means you can change things whenever you want because that's being "agile". That isn't what agile methodology is meant to be. If that's what you're experiencing, then it's being done wrong. And it's frustrating because this is extremely common.

Waterfall can be just as bad. I've worked on plenty of waterfall projects only to spend months of my time on things that never see the light of day. Things change, and waterfall can rarely deal with change mid-project without starting over. It's completely dependent on the context of the work.

The first part of localised pricing is now live

Reply in thread

Yeah I noticed it had been changed. My feedback is that it's still too high. Sorry. The app is still in beta and missing major functionality. I think you may also need to look at some competitors as I haven't seen any priced like Sync and some are actually pretty damn good. I'm really enjoying Voyager for example.

I totally understand you need to make a living, but this isn't Reddit. And I'd rather put some of my money towards supporting the instances I use, rather than just in the app I use to access them.

I'm sure you're gonna do fine. You've got a great app and plenty of support. Just wanted to provide some honest feedback.

TIL of the Jon Hamm conundrum

Honestly, he strikes me more like someone whose true passion is comedy, but he's stuck in a leading man's body. He seems to have spent a fair bit of time post Mad Men doing plenty of comedic (or less serious) roles or bits. I'm just happy that he's still getting opportunities and wasn't so typecast after Mad Men that he wasn't getting a shot at much else.

I wonder if that comment would be different if the show was Severance instead of Corner Office. Adam Scott is great in that role, but a big part of it's success is also the team around the show. And that's not easy to come by.

All you're gonna find here is blind defence of Sync. I used it for Reddit and it was amazing, but honestly, the Lemmy app isn't worth it. Voyager is great if you're looking for an alternative. It's free and it's maintained with updates almost every week.

But they're the same topic, so there's a good chance there's gonna be repeated content across both. Particularly if not everyone is subscribed to all instances.

I'm subscribing to both, but will be interesting to see how duplicate content across instances are federated in the future.

[Shams Charania] Just In: San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich – the winningest NBA coach of all-time – has signed a new five-year contract extension with the franchise.

Good to see Pop sticking around. Not sure how much it changes the coaching market though. I'd say this is a pretty unique deal for a long term coach sticking with a franchise after having brought them success over his tenure while building a culture and training future coaches through their system.

The point is that method doesn't work for the feediverse where things are constantly updating. It's ok to expect that an app is maintained, especially when asking that high a price. I don't get all the blind defence people have for Sync. It's a highly priced app for a platform that's entirely free and there hasn't been an update or peep for months. It's ok to question it. People would be for any other app.
