For me, it was an insane S.T.A.L.K.E.R. deal from Fanatical that gave me the whole original trilogy for just $7.64. I assess every game based on this and it's just so hard to find games that have such a deep amount of meat in them. #NotGoodEnough (of a deal) lol.

Good Day good people.

I am looking for some more examples of Video Games where there is a plot, but for one reason or another, the result of the plot is that nothing happens. My criteria for this is fairly lax on the "how" but in some sense, by some definition by the end of the game, absolutely nothing has happened. I'm hoping some of you fine people may be able to identify some instances of such a thing.

::: spoiler Examples (I've chosen to spoiler tag everything as just being listed gives away certain plot elements. All examples given here are niche titles from over 15 years ago).:

• Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere (specifically the Japanese release): Huge inter-corporate conflict with several different factions and paths you can follow. One you go through all the different endings, the game reveals that it's just a simulation made by one guy to make sure no matter what happens in an upcoming conflict; your character, an AI, will kill the dude who cucked him.
• Persona 2: Innocent Sin: You spend the whole game fighting Nyarlathotep to prevent him and the Nazis from destroying the world. At the end of the game, you fail and choose to abort the timeline and erase everyone else's memories, leaving the main character stranded in the doomed timeline.
• Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter: This is the most boring way for this to play out IMO as it's just a straight coma twist

I'd like game recommendations that

• match the feeling of a fantasy isekai anime and world
• A sandbox JRPG or sandbox Japansse game that is moddable kind of like skyrim

It can be both of those things listed or separately on their own

I prefer to wait until after new games are released so that I can read reviews and allow developers to patch their games properly. In my experience, games tend to improve over time with more bug fixes, added story content, and discounts.

I enjoy casual games that don't require me to constantly try hard or compete with players who have more time to dedicate to gaming.

Do you have any recommendations for a casual game that would be suitable for a patient gamer like myself?

I'm actually really glad that I waited until the deluxe edition was only $12.50 before I bought this game. I loaded it up and tried playing it on the settings that the game suggested and it was like playing the game in slow motion. Even once I set all of the graphics settings to the absolute lowest settings I could possibly find, for some reason in this game there is no "low setting," medium seems to be the lowest graphicals setting possible.

I'm happy that I have a game that I can play once I have an actual gaming machine, but it seems that almost all AAA games aren't capable of running on a laptop that has both 32GB of RAM, and a 4 TB SDD.

Why is it that years old games cannot play on maxed out hardware for the time?

Nothing really catching my eye so far. Do you have any recommendations or know any hidden gems?
