From my experience, only 50% will stop without an argument.

I once tried what the second paragraph suggests, after an argument that ended with me being ignored. They told me I should turn it off, so I asked "Am I bothering you with the sound that comes from my speaker?" They still refused to understand.

It's hard to find a strategy that works.

What I haven't tried yet is blocking their view to the screen in case they watch videos and are ignoring me.

Ich habe inzwischen "leider" Übung darin, Leute auf deren Lautsprechernutzung in den Öffis anzusprechen.

Ich mach es nicht immer. Manchmal will ich grad wirklich nicht. Ich mach es nicht nach 22:00, weil ich nicht den Eindruck habe, dass diese Leute um die Uhrzeit im entfernten vernünftig sein werden. Ich bin dabei absichtlich unfreundlich.

Eine essentielle Erkenntnis war, dass diese Menschen nicht bemerken, dass sie andere Leute stören.

Ich bin nicht so wortgewandt, also hab ich's mir vorbereitet.

1. Frage: "Muss die Lärmbelästigung sein!?". Ich vermittle mit wenigen Worten:

• unnötige Geräuschquelle
• sie stören
• sie benehmen sich daneben. Was fällt ihnen ein!?

Das ganze rhetorisch verpackt macht es schwerer, darauf zu antworten (glaube ich). Den Vorteil nutze ich auch. Die Formulierung passt aber nur ab einer gewissen Lautstärke - ich höre aber leider ziemlich gut.

[Versucht zu diskutieren/schaut mich fragend an/etc.] - "nehmen sie sicht Kopfhörer, oder schalten sie den Ton aus." - manchmal folgt "Ich hab keine Kopfhörer" - "Dann schalten sie den Ton aus."

Im folgenden wird angenommen, dass ich nicht ernst genommen, bzw. ignoriert werde.

"Sie können Kopfhörer verwenden, oder sich das später anhören/anschauen. Warum entscheiden sie sich für den einzigen weg, wie sie anderen Leuten damit auf die Nerven gehen?" (Mir geht's drum, weiter lästig zu sein. An diesem Punkt erwarte ich keine Erklärung, geschweige ein sachliches Gespräch.)

"Schon mal was Rücksicht gehört?"

Wenn sich die Person ein Video anschaut und ich provokant aufgelegt bin (einmal passiert), blockiere ich die Sicht zum Bildschirm. In dem Fall war's mit meiner Hand. Sicherer wär wahrscheinlich ein A4 Blatt (+ Backup), hatte ich aber in dem Moment nicht zur Hand. Ich gebe der Person nicht die Möglichkeit, mich zu ignorieren. Dies ist klarerweise gefährlich. Sollte ich einen Hinweis auf Gewalt bemerken, würde ich auf die Videoübenwachung hinweisen (die es in vielen Öffis gibt).

[Beleidigung] - Essentiell ist, nicht drauf einzugehen.

"Lassen sie mich in Ruhe, geh zu deinem Sitzplatz zurück" - "Wieso, halte ich sie davon ab, andere Leute zu stören?"

"Setz dich doch woanders hin" - "Ist das ihr Wagon!?"

Da kommt kaum was sachliches zurück, dann brauch ich auch nicht sachlich antworten.

Hausordnung spreche ich nicht an, weil es mir um's Prinzip geht. Die ist für's Personal des Verkehrsbetriebes wahrscheinlich interessanter.

Ich glaube, das deckt alles ab, was ich bisher gehört habe.

Daedalic Point and Click Adventures gehören auf deutsch. Sonst eigentlich alles auf englisch, mehr aus Gewohnheit, aber mich hat's manchmal doch interessiert, wie die Übersetzungen klingen. Mir fällt noch das Beispiel Horizon Zero Dawn ein:

"Alright, I should do this quick!" - Aloy spricht zu sich, bissl leiser, konzentriert

"Ich sollte das schnell zu Ende bringen!" - gesprochen, als hätte jemand ohne Kontext gesagt "Hier, lies das mal vor."

Wenn ich mich recht erinnere, hat die deutsche Stimme meiner Meinung nach auch nicht gepasst.

Ich hab immer Spaß dabei, Leuten zu erklären, wie "Disroot" geschrieben wird.

My main reason is, it's not a dependengy hell. If I want to build software, I don't have to go through 5 iterations of being told something is missing, figuring out what that is (most annoying part), installing that and retrying. On Arch-based distros, it's 2 or less, if it even happens.

Also, AUR.

Other points include

• Small install (I use archinstall though, because more convenient.)
• rolling release.

My installs never broke either, so it doesn't feel unstable to me.

I like it more than ther distros because

• Debian is a dependency hell, otherwise fine. Older packages. I still use raspian though.
• Fedora has too much defaults that differ from my preferences. I don't want btrfs, I don't want a seperate home partition, dnf is the only package manager that selects No by default. dnf is also the slowest package manager I've seen. Always needs several seconds between steps for seemingly no reason at all. Feels like you can watch it thinking "Okay, so I've downloaded all these packages, so they are on the disk. That means - let's slow down here and get this right - that means, I should install what I downloaded, right. Okay that makes sense, so let's do that. Here we go installing after downloading". I also got into dependency hell when trying something once, which having to use dnf makes it even worse. - I guess you can tell I don't like Fedora.

I have installed all of those Sims games at one point. It works fine. Mods work without any problems as well.

Lutris will help you for the most part.

I think for Sims 3, I specifically had to use Lutris 7.2 as the runner (IIRC, I have to check again). It didn't work with other versions. I will verify this when I'm home.

I did the most setup for Sims 3 (there is a whole guide for performance). I don't remember details too well, but it's still set up I think, so you can go ahaed and ask questions

I can't judge how careful the people saying "Audacity is evil" are regarding privacy. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just interested in your thoughts.

MuseScore is owned by the same company, Firefox is worse (as the article mentions)... Do you not use either of these? Do you use one of these but not Audacity? If the second one applies to someone, what would be the reason? As a matter of principle? Something else?

(I mean, I don't know of a FOSS alternative to MuseScore.)

I like to install in Lutris.

If the game is not a Steam exclusive, you can get some help from Lutris-scripts, and if the game is a bit older, maybe even winehq appdb. Otherwise, ProtonDB (if the game doesn't run but the recent reviews say to just hit play, look for older reviews).

Most of the time, the issue will be .NET or vcrun (Majorgeeks AIO is easier than winetricks IMO)

Barely had issues wich FG yet. She even has instructions for Linux. Limit to 2GB RAM works almost always.

I had one game where I had to use the Lutris 7.2 runner and I had a diyferent game where a feature would only work with Proton.

Newer Codex cracks don't work.
