They would all have different coins, but the actual value of those coins was determined by their weight, so as long as you could verify that it didn't matter much. Scraping worked because not every salesperson would check the weight of the coins.

I image its the same reason for the Gold/Silver currency in many fantasy settings.

I think that's also because a couple hundred years ago practically every currency was just a certain weight of gold, silver or copper. Different coins were just an easy way to recognize the weight.

Bada Boom

Those things are pretty strong, they don't just break when falling over. Chances are the cyclist would still lose. Better replace it with a landmine, or something else that really explodes when getting hit.

Ex-Pussy Riot member Rita Flores says she was FSB informant for nearly 3 years before escaping Russia

Reply in thread

They were threatening her family. If you know anything about the FSB you know these are not idle threats. She chose to cooperate to prevent harm to her family and at the same time tried to get out from under the assignment she got from the FSB.

Reducing this to a prisoners dilemma is really not helpful for predicting real people's responses to situations like that.

Seeing heavier than average activity all of a sudden from “http://rum-ingest.usO.signalfx.com”, figured out it’s only my moms iPhone

Looking at signalfx.com it seems to be a platform to spy on app/website users, so could be anything. If your block of the domain does not cause the app to malfunction and her to complain, the only way might be to inspect the traffic. But that might require setting up a mitm attack with forged certificates. You might not want to go that far.
