Sonic Game Recomendation?

This will be controversial as as far as I am aware it isn't held in that high regard but in my opinion the best Sonic game made is Sonic Spinball.

It is an odd mix of things, there are a few sections where you need to do some very simple platforming but other than that it is basically a pinball game where you can influence the direction the ball (sonic) is travelling in a very small way. You need to hit certain objectives on each level to acquire chaos emeralds that then open up a boss room. I tend to return to it and complete a play through each year!

As a Sonic adjacent game I also always liked Doctor Robotniks Mean Bean Machine which is a match 3 type puzzle game where setting up combos of colours will trigger blocks to drop on an opponent and you have to survive whilst trying to push their game to the ceiling. Nothing ground breaking but I always enjoyed it.

Aside from that all of the original 2D platformers are decent and Sonic R on the Saturn was alright at the time, although not sure how it has held up over time.

All of the 3D offerings I have tried have been utter shite imo

Sonic turns 35 today—what does this franchise mean to you?

Sonic was my first ever video game at Christmas when I was around 4 or 5 and I loved that shit. Loved all of the sonic games on the mega drive and have always thought Mario is fucking dog shit in comparison.

Then the Saturn came along and the only sonic game really worth playing was sonic R seen as the 3D sonic we were promised only materialised as that sort of tech demo that came with Sonic Jam.

After that it was steady downhill for me. I think Adventure 1 and 2 are massively over rated and I never really enjoyed them except for having a Chao on my VMU.

I was still a sonic fan though and ended up getting a sonic half sleeve tattoo for whatever reason.

As time goes on I have realised that every new sonic game that comes out is just not interesting to me. I really liked the demo of 06 and thought it was going to be great but then they had the were hedgehog things that was utter dog shit and ruined the whole thing for me. I have now moved on and don't really have any interest in anything they produce with sonic in but it was still my first ever video game.

Fast forward to now and I wouldn't even try a new sonic game and just presume it'll be crap. I'm blacking out and covering up that old tattoo and Mario is still over rated trash.

Peacock Gives Series Order to ‘Dungeon Crawler Carl’ TV Series From Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door, Chris Yost

I am about half way through book 8. Reading this thread has made me reconsider however that maybe my opinion of his work is outdated, my opinion was formed primarily of Family Guy and American Dad which whilst they started off OK became pretty tiring pretty quick with constant repetition of things that weren't even funny in the first place like that chicken fight crap.

I will still look forward to the DCC adaptation for what it is but in the mean time I think I will try out some of his other work I haven't seen to see if my opinion changes and can be updated as from looking at the dates Family Guy was over 25 years ago now which instantly makes me feel even older too!

psychedelics vs weed

Is it typical? I don't know for people generally but definitely not at all for me.

I have only done shrooms a few times but LSD 100+ times so most of my experience is with that.

As someone else replied, set and setting. It seems silly having no experience with the substances but where you come up will colour the entire trip from then on so if you are more fragile, like you seem to be, then you need to make sure you get this right to set up your trip going forward.

For me if I am alone at home then that will definitely make the trip more introspective and it will have more moments of self analysis.

If I am in public then it makes for a lot more sociable high and I am more likely to engage with other people and as an introvert who generally avoids people that is quite a nice change of pace for me.

Either way though I never feel cold and lonely and those things you were describing.

Smoking a bit of weed can take the edge off of coming up but be cautious of smoking during your trip. For me personally it is the best combination and I will rip bongs throughout a trip because I love the spacey disconnected high you get from mixing the two but I have also seen people who absolutely could not handle the combination. They were also regular smokers and people I thought would be OK but I have seen more than one friend crying curled up in a corner after smoking weed during a trip and it took it in a less favourable direction. So just be cautious with mixing the two.

I'd probably advise to leave the weed alone during the heights of the trip and maybe have a bit a lot later to smooth into the come down until you have tripped a few times and know yourself and what to expect from those drugs a bit better.

I'm pretty sure I'm an outlier as when I was super into acid around ten years ago I used to try and take it in the weirdest times and places I could think of just to kind of see how it went and for me it always made any activity infinitely more enjoyable. I never had a bad trip, but I also realise that a lot of people aren't like this at all and would not have had such a good time.

If you are gonna go for it again I think you should really concentrate on the set and setting part. Set yourself up in a good place and be in a good place mentally going into it. As the other poster suggested have some shit around you that you enjoy and is comforting to you but also don't plan specific things and try and follow a schedule, just let it do its thing and ride it out.

It may just be that it isnt for you too and that is alright. Get some MDMA instead and have a cuddle puddle with your wife xP

*Cheeky nandos*

Translation:

It is hard to explain my friend.

It is as if one day you'll be with your friends, browsing in JD Sports (sports shop) and you fancy a curry from the "curry club" menu at Wetherspoons (a nationwide chain of drinking establishments that serve "pub" style food).

However your friend who is male, called Callum, who is also an absolute legend and the epitome of banter (friendly and humerous conversation of a non-serious manner) will say "Brethren (an old fashioned way of referring to a friend you consider a brother) let's have a naughty Nandos (a chain restaurant that specialises in Peri Peri style chicken) instead"

Consequently you will think "Most excellent, let's go there and excel at the process of ordering and eating food"

Proton Mail Suspended Journalist Accounts at Request of Cybersecurity Agency

Why repost this with the sensationalist headline but not include the context provided in the comments by @[email protected]

"The author omitted the complete statement from Reddit:

Hi everyone,

No, Proton did not knowingly block journalists’ email accounts. Our support for journalists and those working in the public interest has been demonstrated time and again through actions, not just words.

In this case, we were alerted by a CERT that certain accounts were being misused by hackers in violation of Proton’s Terms of Service. This led to a cluster of accounts being disabled.

Because of our zero-access architecture, we cannot see the content of accounts and therefore cannot always know when anti-abuse measures may inadvertently affect legitimate activism.

Our team has reviewed these cases individually to determine if any can be restored. We have now reinstated 2 accounts, but there are other accounts we cannot reinstate due to clear ToS violations.

Regarding Phrack’s claim on contacting our legal team 8 times: this is not true. We have only received two emails to our legal team inbox, last one on Sep 6 with a 48-hour deadline. This is unrealistic for a company the size of Proton, especially since the message was sent to our legal team inbox on a Saturday, rather than through the proper customer support channels.

The situation has unfortunately been blown out of proportion without giving us a fair chance to respond to the initial outreach."

What is good SoulSeek etiquette?

Personally I love to see someone downloading a shit load of stuff from me. Someone recently got a whole labels releases from me of over 30gb but that just tells me they have good taste in music as far as I'm concerned so I then explored their files and ended up getting a lot of interesting stuff in return.

I think these people with all their locked files asking for shit like gift vouchers in return for the privaledge of downloading a file from them are scummy, so the way you've approached it sounds great to me, you are sharing so grab whatever you need from people. Hopefully they will then explore your files and the cycle repeats!
