Why not other cheap foods like beans, vegetable oils, sugar? Sugar isn't that healthy but it's probably better than being borderline anorexic. There are even more possibilities if you add flour, which is cheaper than bread. Cake, pancake. Fried potatoes. Potato gratin or noodle gratin.

TBF Brazil is only richer than Portugal in terms of GDP, because it has like 15 times the population. Portugal still has twice the GDP (PPP) per capita of Brazil. Of course, in terms of politically power, Brazil dwarfs Portugal, which is probably more important for this particular issue.

Hab letztens nen Krimi (Wilsberg, Folge "Tod im Supermarkt") gesehen, wo dem Besitzer eines Rabatt-Accounts mit Ausweiskarte 2 Flaschen Wodka am Tag untergeschoben wurden, um ihn in einer Schadensersatzklage gegen den Supermarkt zu diskreditieren. Das hat in dem Krimi so funktioniert, dass es dann zwei Ausweise für den gleichen Account gab, aber in der echten Welt kann man den Leuten auch im Account mit App was unterschieben, entweder der Betreiber selbst oder Hacker. Oder die Leute haben halt wirklich problematisches Kaufverhalten, was dann problematisch werden kann z.B. für Versicherungen, Bonitätsprüfungen oder die aktuelle oder zukünftige Arbeitsstelle (natürlich für echte Boomer nicht mehr relevant), oder halt strafrechtliche Anschuldigungen wie in dem Film. Erpressung wäre auch möglich, "wenn du nicht zahlst, gebe ich die Informationen an Ehepartner o.Ä. weiter", oder Einbrecher besorgen sich die Daten und räumen Haus/Wohnung aus wenn die Leute im Urlaub sind.
