Are You Kids On Dopamine?

Reply in thread

Well there problem for many ADHD as explained in the post is that we just don't have the dopamine to even consider starting a task, and a little treat gives us that boost to get going.

For me personally it's often a task that I want to accomplish, I just like can't because brain says no.

Okay that's fair. I recently dropped brave from my Android and just went back to Firefox. Not like super pleased with Mozilla but I'll take it for now.

Canadian Armed Forces airdrop humanitarian aid into Gaza

Honestly airdrops are like one truck worth of supplies, inefficient, and not super effective. Pressure needs to be put on Israel to allow food and aid trucks back into Gaza. This isn't going to stave off starvation, it's making Canada look good. Still with the climate as it is, I can't knock anyone doing anything trying to help. Keep fighting everyone.

EU opens investigation into Shein over sale of childlike sex dolls

Reply in thread

I'm definitely gonna be in the minority here looking at the comments, but this is rapidly approaching thought crime levels of regulation in my opinion. If they want to regulate sex dolls, show there is a correlation, prove that this is a pathway to extremism so to speak.

If this evidence already exists and I'm ignorant of it, please share, because I will happily change my stance.

Otherwise it really just feels like video games cause violence bullshit to me and reaks on senseless vilification. I'm pretty sure everyone has had thoughts that they'd never act on and repulse themselves for having, just as I'm sure many of you have watched videos or played video games depicting actions you would never participate in in reality. I really struggle to see this as problematic.

Why ‘deleted’ doesn’t mean gone: How police recovered Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell footage

They're going to lengths to make it sound like oh there was some cached server they found after intensive searching that hadn't yet been updated or some such nonsense, but reality is is that Google is part of the dystopian constant surveillance present we now live in and likely they save ever little bit of video and information they can get their grubby blood stained hands on and use it for ai processing, government contracts, or you know, to jerk off to in their free time.

Fuck I really need to get off my ass and degoogled.

Do NOT buy Creality

That's a serious shame to hear about. Creality has been a staple of the community since the reprap days. I don't think I can count the number of people I know who had an ender as their first 3d printer.

It kind of sounds like they're struggling with the transition from hobbiest products to appliances and are losing some of their soul along the way.

Sorry you're going through that, but thank you for sharing.

Yup. Not fun.

I never understood willful ignorance, it's gotta be better to know. And to have the diagnosis, being able to access directed care, have been life changing. I went through all those feelings growing up, knowing I was different, but not having the framework to know it was ADHD and what that meant and not being able to access treatment, it was rough. My kid got diagnosed when he was 9 as soon as it was evident he likely had it as well, he will not go through the same hardships I went through.

Bambu Lab announces the Vortek H2C, an automatic nozzle-changing version of the H2D

Reply in thread

I definitely wouldn't say they've lost all trust in everyone. Bambu has brought all kinds of innovation to the space as well as spearheaded the whole making it an appliance that just works which brought 3d printing more mainstream than ever. We have a lot to thank Bambu engineers for I'd say.

Nonetheless they deserve to be constantly ridiculed for their closed ecosystem contrary to reprap ethos
