Or, you know, we could just reallocate these egregiously huge military/police funds to healthcare + infrastructure. There are innumerable reasons people in this country are driven to violence but the number one is the violence it inflicts on us.

$3 for a single McDonald's hash brown? Some customers are fed up and pushing back

Inflation and wage theft are absolutely out of control in this country. I'm a barista. My store makes $1600 in a eight-hour day. Mine and all of my coworker's wage in there probably adds up to about $50/hour on average. So the profit margin is ridiculous. And these businesses have the gall to think they can make MORE MONEY. No, fuck you. At some point the human beings doing the hard work need to get a bigger cut.

https://boingboing.net/2021/04/20/u-s-policing-budgets-would-rank-as-the-worlds-third-highest-military-expenditure.html/amp The american police are the third biggest military force in the world by budget. They are a HUGE drain on this country's resources especially when we have such extensive federal bureaucracy but the point remains they exist to repress free speech through force, evict families, trash the struggling livelihoods of the homeless and joke about it too all in the service of normalizing this fascist nightmare. They started as slave patrols, in the US especially they are a intrinsically racist institution of class traitors. And with their funding we could have healthcare, housing and education instead... who would riot then?

i hate that it's very often like this

Debtap is suprisingly easy to use after switching to arch (highly recommend), but i actually love .deb files. Obviously it's a slight risk to the user in the similar way dot EXE's can be for windows , but they really do simplify package management for when you're newer to linux.
