Centrist Democrats are freaking out about progressives’ winning streak

Reply in thread

It literally is. You can't vote blue if you have stronge conservative values. I had a coworker (unsolicited) tell me that essentially he would support anything he considered conservative (non-woke) even if it meant burning everything down and starting over. Not sure why he felt a conversation about baseball at a company dinner I was paying for as a company event needed to be redirected to political beliefs. But there we all were sitting there all being very uncomfortable.

Toyota And Nissan Admit Their American-Made Vehicles Aren't Up To Japanese Standards

Then why doesn't Toyota and Nissan do something about it? It's their product, regardless of where it's made.

Also why are they shipping vehicles with software created for North America then acting like it's Americans faults that features don't work or only come in English, French and Spanish.

Sounds like they're making bad decisions and trying to blame it on cultural differences

Slate Auto’s radically simple electric truck starts at $24,950

"Very modular" sounds like a bad thing to me, if the essential part's and pieces that make it "go" don't meet the minimum expectations of a gas powered vehicle in the same price range (plus 20%) then it's DOA. If the platform is weak then adding stuff is only going to make it worse.

Sort of like buying a 2010 Ford Ranger 4cyl 2wd then putting side steps, spot lights, aftermarket heated seats, aftermarket stereo, lift spacers, and fat tires. But at the end of the day, you're still driving a piece of crap.

If the base parts aren't great then why bother.

Computer model could enable bridges and buildings that use less material

Reply in thread

I've never heard a good engineer ever say "let's use an unnecessary amount of material", usually engineers say "this is what you need to achieve the goal and this is why....". Then management adds contingency while trying to also cut cost, then the project manager orders material too early to drive revenue and it expires or get lost, then the crew always has waste, the list goes on.

Efficient engineering is rarely the problem, but if there's a tool that reliably makes my job easier and faster then sure, bring it on

Are you gonna be buying a Steam machine?

I really want a powerful miniPC to replace my Rokus and also play 80% of my library. But $1100 for the 512gb without a controller is a hard pill to swallow. I can get an equivalent laptop for about the same price or less, and it's still portable.

Microcenter $1200

I reserved a 512gb and a 2tb, but I may hold out for the Frame. I fell like Valve should rethink the strategy, because there are a lot of console gamers that would break into the market if the price is right, $1,100 is too high. Especially since it still won't be able to play games with anti-cheat, so most of the competitive games aren't even an option.

MAGA arguments

Probably because he never would and everyone would be in disbelief that someone would make such an outlandish announcement.

It would be more believable if he sent ICE in to arrest the baby to deport it after ICE set the fire.
