Sorry chasers, you never stood a chance

Dumb question from a cis person:

Online I see a lot of references to trans women getting together with each other, but I've never seen similar for trans men (or trans men and women). Does this track to IRL? Or is this imbalance just a memetic artifact (trans memes are popular + yuri memes are popular = trans yuri memes are popular)?

USA: Slate's New Electric Truck Will Cost Slightly More Than $24,950

Rural people, as in the folks who actually have a use for pickups. As it so happens, it is about 200 miles round-trip to my nearest airport/major city, so if this were my vehicle, I'd have to take a charge break when picking someone up/dropping them off at the airport, or making a shopping run, or going to a concert/special event, or seeing a medical specialist. And I'm not even that far off the beaten path; I have family for whom the one-way drive to their nearest major city/airport is over 200mi. Plus if you're hauling anything, I'd imagine that range goes down quick.

Back Street Girls: Gokudols – what the heck?

Definitely a case of "committing to the bit" that resulted in an above-average comedy anime. A lot of these "so dumb it's intriguing" premise series struggle to carry interest for more than an episode, so I was pleased that the series remained consistent all ten episodes. Probably good that they ended there, though.

What's wrong with my pineapple plant?

No experience with pineapples, but when a plant starts looking like this it's often either too much or too little watering. Does the pot have an unobscured drain hole in the bottom? How did you choose a once-every-three-days watering cycle? (That sounds insufficient for outside growing this time of year to me.)

boytoyrule

This triggers a memory!

Once when I was a kid, I went with a friend to McDonalds while they were doing some Disney promotion or another. We got the "girl or boy toy with your happy meal?" question. We were both girls so we automatically answered "girl toy." After eating we looked and saw that we both had Jasmine from Aladdin, and if we had said "one of each please" we would have had both Aladdin and Jasmine, which would have been a lot more fun to play with while we waited for our parents to wrap up whatever they were doing. So we decided that next time we would ask for one of each. Well the next time was toward the end of the promotion and all they had left were the girl toys, meaning we ended up with four Jasmine figurines.

Many were desensitized by the early, totally unmoderated internet.

I'm really confused what this could be referring to.

Because the folks who've been around the longest and remember the early days of the Internet are currently in utter dismay over how their fun international sandbox has become a Black Mirror-esque horror show, while everyone else seems to just shrug and obediently upload their face scans so they can watch AI videos of uncanny-valley cats playing cruel pranks on facsimiles of political figures in-between unskippable ads for applying to be an ICE agent under promises that it'll be like COD but in your own backyard with living, breathing brown people.

If Trump is reelected, Americans are planning to flee in droves

The article: "a bunch of us are worried about the potential rise of fascism in the United States, so we're moving to Italy"

Tell me that you are oblivious to international politics without literally telling me that you are oblivious to international politics.

More to the point, if Americans were the type to "flee in droves," left-wingers would have left states like Texas and Florida en-masse for bluer pastures. Moving within the United States is a million times easier than moving overseas, and if they're not doing the former in the face of fascism/degradation of human rights in red states, why on earth would they engage in the much more difficult latter? Definitely sounds like a case of taking anecdote and non-committal musings online too seriously.
