For example, I’m Jewish. If a non-Jew makes a “Jews run the world” joke, it’ll likely come across as highly anti-semitic. If I were to make that joke, I’d stand a decent chance of getting a laugh
You mean to say that the Jews that run the world have access to exclusive jokes?

That is very violent phrasing and you only deem it ok because it's geared toward the "right kind of people"

Whatever Lemmy glitch is sending me to random sports posts
Lemmy does have some jarring bugs like this one
Another one that makes it near unusable is that content jumps when lemmy for some reason updates the feed automatically and on the top
I have to try to click a post faster than the update because it will rerender the whole list and any open images close

Can anyone explain to me what the consequence is for fare jumping if they don’t do this?
Number one reason is that it pisses people off as it is unfair
Humans, like monkeys, are allergic to unfairness and more people will just jump because they also want free shit
These policing efforts are just there to keep the number of free riders to the expected parameter and placate the paying users
Capturing back lost fares is inconsequential

Why People Say Capitalism is Violent
The state is violent and community is violent and privacy is violent
Can anyone come up with an ideology that is not violent and can actually be implemented in the real world with real actors that aren't smelling roses and giving out hugs?

Looking for a new car under $20,000? Good luck. Your choice has dwindled to just one vehicle
It's still cheap, only 20x the minimum wage
At least if you consider that in my country the cheapest is 50x the minimum wage

my parents angrily forbid me to do drugs or have sex and begged me not to drink to excess. Guess which activities I regularly engaged in
I too was vehemently forbidden, but I managed to understand how bad drugs and excessive drinking are and felt no need to rebel by "cutting off one's nose to spite one's face"
Two people can go through the same environment and have completely different outcomes

Someone should make and extension that grabs what you post on reddit and sends it here

The browser extension doesn't need reddit API access, it just needs Lemmy API access
It would grab the reddit submission page html data

You should think about making your own site with all the historic reddit data. Something like a static site generator so you can host it for almost free
