Trump deploys National Guard after second day of Los Angeles immigration protests | CNN
This is actually insane. Bringing tanks to a knife fight... except it's not even a knife fight it's a thumb war. This is going to cause country wide rioting and Trump's only recourse will be to further up the anti. I feel worried for you guys.

The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing. - Burke.
Yes it's miserable, and I'm not sure if I'm doing anything at all, but turning away seems worse.

$80 for Borderlands 4 too costly? Randy Pitchford says, "If you're a real fan, you'll find a way to make it happen"
Can't wait to play it...in 2035 summer sale. Maybe I'll even get bored in under 2 hours and get the instant refund.

‘I don’t date at all now’: one woman’s journey into the darkest corners of the manosphere
I feel like I'm in a different universe to most people. Only chance I get to call anyone out for anything is littering and playing music loudly in public. Honestly feels like confirmation bias, but I'm sure I'm wrong.

As a Linux gamer, steam has done so much to make it incredibly easy. They didn't have to make proton, but they did and it's great.
The few games they've made have pretty much all been incredible.
The family sharing means my wife has access to my whole account on her steam deck.
Sure, they take a big cut of sales, I've heard not a great place to work, and probably some other reasons to not like them. But the good far outweighs the cons. It's hard to hate them compared to other huge companies.

When I got a playstation 2, my stepfather was amazed it had a blue led. They were crazy expensive just a few years earlier and this console just used one for no real reason other than it looked good.

Labour are going to have to come up with something soon though or things could go bad; I get it's their first year and they're doing unpopular things early so they're not fresh for next election, but they're really unpopular right now.

What a nice comic. I'm sure people will want to push the metaphor too far, please don't.

The movements between Remy and the human were involuntary and instantaneous, I think we must assume they're all quantumly entangled.

David Hume wrote about this exact thing in (I think) an enquiry concerning human understanding.
Essentially he said all thoughts come from 3 processes:
Cause and effect - think of smoke so think of fire etc.
Continuity in time and/or place - think of kettle so think of toaster etc.
Resemblance - think of a photo so think of the person etc.
The above example would be continuity in place, the carnival lead to thoughts in the same place.
Also cause and effect...why do bees die but wasps not?
Actually possibly resemblance too, as bees and wasps look similar.

I've been using pop OS for 5 years and barely understand anything at all, we're not all super nerds. I got it to save a bit of upfront money on a new build with the plan to buy windows when I needed it, never needed it.

I think this is the correct answer, at least in English language.
From the top of my head in roughly the right order:
Tis but a flesh wound You're father smells of elderberries We want...a shrubbery Watery tarts throwing swords at people is no basis for a government She turned me into a newt On second thoughts, it's a silly place Bravely bravely ran away You have to know these things when you're a king you know

No, Steam wasn’t hacked, and your account details are safe
It's good to have a constant in the current world, steam seems okay, I love what they're doing for Linux gamers, I think they should reduce their share by at least 5%,but they do a good service and seem competent.
