Those of you who have a gift or a passion that doesn’t pay enough to be financially independent and have a job to pay the bills, what does it look like?
I'm not in your shoes, but I gotta be honest, of all the useless jobs out there, firefighter is not one of them. I'm not trying to tell you you should find it fulfilling, simply that in my eyes at least, it's a worthy role.

What do you miss that's ultimately inconsequential but still deeply personal?
mh150 sunglasses from decathlon. Wayfarer shape but they fit my rather large head just fine and I liked the colours. They were cheap (£10) so it didn't matter so much if I lost or broke them. They were mirrored.
For about 6 years I relied on them and now I need to find a new brand or supplier.

Muskyness aside; it is pretty impressive to watch, almost looks like the footage has been reversed.

As a fan of both authors I'd just like to point out the quote is from Douglas Adams, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.
I've never really thought about it and I don't have the vocabulary to describe it, but they have similar humour in the way they look at humans and social interaction.

Upon leaving the EU any laws that were in use were 'enshrined' into UK law. In order for the UK to remove EU laws we'd need to actively remove them through an act of parliament. (At least that's my vague understanding..) https://www.legislation.gov.uk/eu-legislation-and-uk-law
I'm happy to keep the EU laws, it'll save time when we rejoin.🇪🇺🇬🇧

My exact first thought. If he's going to abuse his power and force govt services to provide twitter updates it should be accessible to all without restriction.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) on Saturday said it will stop e-mailing news organizations and reporters with updates about two plane crashes that occurred earlier this week.
Moving forward, the federal agency tasked with investigating transportation-related accidents and disasters said news organizations and reporters will have to follow the agency’s official account on X

It's an old joke updated for new technology .. that's part of what makes it clever.
It references the original joke (albeit in very small text)

Recently something has changed and the start menu likes to search for apps in its browser (not my default app). I used to press windows key then type "snip" for the screenshot tool, now half of the time is does the wrong thing ...
