Huh interesting. Searched out of curiosity, and I found 1 article saying you should close it as it will lower the temp throughout the night to allow for a more peaceful sleep and also for fire safety. Then right below was a link to another article stating you should leave it open as it will lower the temp via circulation. Fun, don't think I've seen such mixed results.

Have you ever been to a movie so terrible that you saw people leaving the theater? Which one was it?
I just scrolled through 200+ comments and did not see Cloverfield. I really can't say anything about the storyline itself as this was one I physically could not sit through. In addition to others who ended their suffering before us, I and 2 family members all experienced severe motion sickness within the first half hour and had to walk out. Didn't think it was worth throwing up over.

Keep that day as your own
Kind of a different scenario but reminds me of when a co-worker took sick days and almost immediately updated their profile picture of them being out-of-state. Left us baffled.

Le torture
We found out that one of our co workers created tables of formulas in excel, then input a table in Word to manually type in and transfer over the table data. And of course the same formulas needed to be run through a desk calculator once more in case excel got that wrong the first time. Jaw dropping (when that person was shown about this magical copy/ paste feature, it was their jaw that dropped lol)

How are CD Projekt's side quests so good? Cyberpunk quest designer says they reject 'over 90%' of their pitches
It'd be awesome if they can continue with that mindset but unfortunately I'm a skeptic.

Every time I turn the light off
One time I was in bed, when suddenly the smelliest cat butthole a foot away from my face just straight up assaulted my nose.
Now I'm so thankful whenever I hear that slep slep slep in the middle of the night, and I can sleep peacefully without dreaming of any cat buttholes.

What unusual things do you make with Japanese curry cubes?
My mom used to make this and it's become somewhat of a quick fix comfort food for me now. But boil up some ramen noodles (save the packets in case I might need them for future bland dishes -_-), slightly undercooked, pour out the water but I'll leave enough to melt the cubes in (if I'm feeling fancy, I'll save some of the noodle water in a cup and pour it in later like when you make pasta), and just melt/mix the cubes in (I'll start off with 1, add more for whatever level of intensity I'm craving that day) on low heat, and usually fry up some spam and throw that in there. Nothing too crazy and always hits the spot.
Edit: oh it's definitely been a while so I totally fudged a part. I add some of the powder ramen sauce packet for that extra kick too!

What's something you notice often that no one ever really talks about?

I always wondered if others thought the same thought I have, and you just answered it. Lots of restaurant valet services in my city, and I've seen some of them literally grab my keys from off the top of my tire. Meaning an entire parking lot packed with cars with their respective keys all in the same spot..

Is it just me or did anyone else became a more avid poster since joining lemmy?
It's nice because I always wondered what it was like being one of the early redditors (we've all seen those "when everything was better back in my days" comments), and it's as if I got chance at a magic Internet Reset button. Feeling that excitement that first got me into reddit, as I'm browsing and learning about the fediverse. Love it.
