They use LetsEncrypt. There is literally a bot you can install to automate the renewal process daily on a cron schedule and notify you if it fails.

There are a ton of apps that show up as "proprietary" that aren't. Firefox, Home Assistant, etc. are showing up as proprietary, but their source code is published and they have some form of non-proprietary license. It's not GPLv2 or v3, but giving it a red proprietary badge seems a bit much.

There was an app called axolotl that worked with Signal on Linux phones, like UBPorts, but it has been unmaintained for a long time and no longer works.

It was out of warranty. That's how warranties work.

It sucks that it died earlier than expected, but they can't stay solvent just letting people get replacement parts outside of warranty for free.

Yeah but you agree to those warranty terms at purchase. The commenter earlier was bitching about how Framework wouldn't warranty something OUT of warranty. They bought a device with a warranty period, it died outside that warranty period, and now Framework shouldn't be expected to fix it for free.

Piracy is a delivery problem. Make content easier to get for reasonable prices and you'll make money. Don't do that? OK. Piracy it is.
