You can count on them doubling the estimate every single time, and you have to keep on them just to make sure the work gets done.

Just had one set of subcontractors throw away material for other fixes... Lead group days that the ones involved are no longer a part of the project, so we're on the hook for even more.

Thinking back, i have always been unhappy with the work done by a contractor. I'm not asking for much, painters paint an area, plumbers stop leaks, drywall dudes fix the water damage... And the job is always left with areas unpainted, pipes not connected, and holes in the drywall that were not there before. :::

Have you ever been happy with a contractors work? What did they do for you?

Hi guys, been having a problem for a week now in fedora 43.

After half an hour of light use, my kde keyboard starts crashing at regular intervals, the taskbar is unresponsive, and the shutdown greeter will crash if i try to restart or shut down. I have to power cycle the system to turn it off, not the best.

Looking for anyone also experiencing the problem has not yielded any hits, so I'm posting here 😅

Thus far i have tried: -Restarting -Disabling Firefox video decoding (closest fix i could find in searches) -Rolling back to my previous Friday backups

The issue persists 😓

I don't know enough about Linux to troubleshoot the problem effectively 😅

Today i had a choke point hip check and a "i need help" lady asking me for judgement on which of her melons was ripest.

My wife makes fun of me because of how uncomfortable i am with people getting in my personal space.

She caught a shot of a lady reaching between my legs to get a bag of chips today, and I'm ultra skeeved. Ruined my whole fucking day. 🫩

If a man did this they would get kicked out of the dang trader Joe's.

It was making a rattling noise as the pokey bits on the top made contact with the tire (while turning sharply to the right)

Hi everyone, I'm planning on moving from w11 to kubuntu (lts release - 24.04). I'm a gamer at heart, a game designer by education, and wanting to get away from Windows. I could really use some top tips, best practices, and things to look out for. I have run Linux on a Chromebook, but never as my primary PC.

I'm preparing by copying tax info, critical documents, game prototypes, and D&D documents to a USB.

Then run Linus from a different USB on restart?

Hi, I'm flying home for my birthday (moved out of state for work, then lost my job, and been unemployed for 4 months). My mom asked what I would like her to make me for my birthday dinner, and I have no clue what to ask for. I'm just at a loss because I don't know what I like. I'm not picky, but if left to my own devices would eat mueslix for months at a time. I hate feeling attention, and worst of all pity... But that is the primary feeling when I return to my mothers home. I feel lost and trapped, as more if my life falls through my fingers like a hand desperately grasping into dry sand. Everything feels wrong and I hate that I agreed to come home at all.

I just got my 30 player bracket, and it looks like it's going to be competitive. Weird that it is only 2 days long though. I have only played against one other person in the bracket, so I guess it's more about persistence than competitiveness 😅
