If this wasn't enough, there's even more among the silver members, such as OpenAI and NVidia.

Depending on how willing I'm with recording myself, I will either record a video essay, or at least write some article about the subject. I will also do some research into permissive and "more rational" AI policies of open source projects and them becoming sponsored by AI vendors (there's a very sad trend there).

None of them feel like tools, at best you have to force them to be that, but are still really bad at it, see vibe coding and "AI-assisted" or higher effort AI images.

It's also like they skipped a few steps too. I think an actual synonym search could be way more useful than a sycophantic chatbot built into my text editor (wonder if something like that already exist). At least in case of animation I heard some frame interpolation tool actually made for artists got trashed due to their makers wanted to hop onto the still in-infancy full-on generative AI bandwagon.

However I have to give it to them when it comes to amazing outsiders. They often already thought digital art or composing on the PC was something like what the AI was, only they didn't know what button to press.

DConf2026 mostly has proAI talks, with the biggest standout being Adam Wilson's talk about integrating LLMs into developing the next version of the standard library.

This lead to a lot of debate within the community, with even some pro-genAI people calling it out, and there's even an open letter calling for rethinking the use of genAI, and some increased interest in the OpenD fork. It is also found out that people did try to volunteer for the new standard library (including me), but were rejected with the excuse of "we already have things in the works".

I'm also interested into some D alternatives that's not Rust (🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 - no I'm not a Lunduke fan, but a gamedev, also no "const by default" languages!), has metaprogramming capabilities, and no (mandatory) header files (🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮), in case I decide to leave. I have a game engine that could be ported, its resource management needs to decoupled for D's garbage collection though.

TL;DR: Gained too much weight after I fell and broke my arm + couldn't really move for a while. I have a lot of trauma related to sports, like I was forced to play football like any other Hungarian kid, and I was awful at it, which made others be angry at me for it, which made me reluctant to do it. Even if I manage to do it, I often get brutal, crippling muscle pain, which makes me fo it even less.

Since I"m Hungarian, I cannot rely on health care at all, especially mental health, as it was the very first thing that got cut, amd I cannot afford private care.

BTW I think some anti-Rust people are more annoying than the worst Rust evangelists - seen some of them calling people not using Rust as "murderers", because "memory leakage can kill at the right time" - but that's due to them being evangelists to right-wing politics.

Noticed some AI evangelists try with the same kind of fake centrism, that was pretty popular during the Gamergate era. In this case, they try to set up people spamming genAI slop against "fanatical anti-AI people". But just as many loves to pretend moderates are "far-left", as their past-Gamergate selves pretended Anita Sarkeesian demanded state censorship of sexist videogames, as they are now pretending Hasan Piker is the most radical leftist living today (there are much worse even within the content creator sphere, such as Badempanda) to illustrate the "horseshoe theory", the table is tilted in favor of AI adoption.
