Learning on the job

"Unexpected item in bagging area" was a common misery for everyone in London in 2012. Don't know if it's improved there since.

In NL they now do 'random checks' of 10 items, which is basically 'you having to unpack all your shopping' and pack again so they can check if you stole.

The concept of self checkout is ridiculous, making you an unpaid employee and then blaming you for mistakes. It tries to solve the owner's stinginess for not hiring more staff. It's not there to help you, it's there to suppress employees.

Trump called his little fifart Infantini to reverse a red card. Something unprecedented in both the history of FIFA and the US, which says enough really.

Oh yeah, the team still lost to Belgium, a country that can't even speak Dutch properly ;)

I remember iPlayer in 2007: it was a mess, using DRM and P2P, requiring a full download before watching it. I wouldn't call that a streaming service at all. Shows had to be watched within a week of broadcasting.

I welcome feedback but starting a comment with 'thats not correct' and then blatantly being incorrect is just some ol' bullshit.

I never mentioned that either of the companies originated the idea of streaming. I only posited that Netflix pushed governments (in this case the Dutch and UK) to move to digital programming.

Those 4 styles are really poorly written. They're not MECE and I'd be happy to write them off as pseudo science, or even a marketing scheme for a book based on that blog post.

If there are 4 styles where 3 are wrong and 'this book teaches you the correct 1' I get nervous.
