Now that is a quality joke

Sekyuritee
I know this is a meme, but security is not binary. It is not you either have 100% or 0%, it is always a sliding scale, and usually on the opposite side is convenience.
Encrypting your drive protects against someone stealing your computer or breaning into youe house while the computer is off/locked.
People like to trash people that write down their passwords on a post-it note and keep next to their computer. It is not ideal, but having a somewhat complex password written down protects a lot more against attacks over the internet than having "password". However, if others have physical access to the note then it is obviously very bad. Like for example in an office.

What are some notable scams in history that went unnoticed for so long?

Like the old joke, "What do you call alternative medicine that works?" "Medicine!"
If some herb, plant or extract has a proven effect it will be adopted by real medicine, and all that is left in alternative medicine is the scams that do not work.

The .io domain might be in trouble

Meanwhile, .tech exists and is not country-specific but is far less popular for some reason.
Simple answer: length.
Two chars look a lot better than something with more chars, and all two chars TLD are ccTLDs.

Lawn Chair looks ok, but unless they fix this issue I will not switch.
https://github.com/LawnchairLauncher/lawnchair/issues/2683
Basically you can't set the main "home page", ie where you end up on home press. I like to have it set up so the home is in the middle and then you can swipe left to go to another screen(s), and swipe right to go to other screen(s).
Forcing the home screen to be the first means you can only swipe right, and have to go through many useless screens to get to the one you want.
Doubt they will fix it either, as it has been open since 2022. Without knowing their stack it sounds like a really simple fix, just storw which is the main screen. Normally it is [1], 2, 3, 4. But let the user choose to put it as [3] for example if they want.

Itch.io is delisting NSFW games due to pressure from payment processors

This is exactly what it was designed to solve before cryptobros turned it into a pump and dump scheme.
If you want to buy something from seller X that is between you and X and no one else. No goverment, payment processor or other third party can get a cut or stop it for any reason.

systemctl status --user pipewire
I actually had a sound issue the other day. Just no sound, how weird. It worked the day before. Checked wpactl, volumes etc, everything was fine and working. Restarted pipewire, still no sound.
Turns out my external mixer lost power because the powet socket was slightly loose.
