ActivityPub is the protocol used to allow Lemmy instances to operate as a federated social network. It allows users to interact with compatible platforms such as Kbin[10] and Mastodon.[16]

To add PieFed a source is needed. I’d prefer something other than the PieFed site as it’s not the best source for wikipedia I’ve checked all the Fediverse news place I could think of. Any article for a large news network which as unlikely as it is would be a good fine or a Fediverse blog or something like that would work

God I love Vegas

So I finally have my server up and running but I still need a hand.

I cannot access my media library on my internal storage or my 4tb sega gate portable drive I am using. What is the fix for this? Thanks

Back for round 3 and this time my PC is dual booting windows and Linux(mint) so I’ve got 2 methods of trying this. I have failed at both. In the time since I tried to run Jellyfin a few months ago the install process has changed completely and I can’t even get it to boot. Windows I can’t even get the server to open. Linux I can get the client to work but the server throws up libicu67 is not satisfiable. I’m completely lost any help would be great

So I’ve had this thing for half a decade at this point. It was the first PC I ever got and I’ve been dealing with it being a PC which was cheap and not made for gaming. I’d like to see if there’s any recommendations I can add or upgrade to make it better rather than buying a entirely new PC

Id like to cram a GPU in there if possible but I suck at hardware related topics so I’m not sure if could, which one I would, etc

I’ve seen concerns about bots scraping data from Fediverse users and I’m concerned as well. I want to know is there a way we can protect ourselves or a way we can fight back?

This insane rant made me laugh for half a hour straight if anyone knows what I’m talking about and has it saved please let me know I can’t find it anywhere.

I’m not quite sure how I did this I managed to fix it but I’m impressed with how much I broke Rimworld.

About a year and a half ago I asked for laptop suggestions. I was given a lot of good options and I knew what I wanted a ThinkPad. Being a broke college student over a 1000 thousand price tag made me look else where. I ended up with an idea pad. I cannot say enough how much I hate this product. I got up one morning and discovered it would not come on. I take it to be repaired and the motherboard is cracked. It’s un fixable and I’m down 500$. I have an old Chromebook running Linux mint so I’ve got something but it still sucks loosing that. I should’ve known better than to trust Lenovo I saw reviews of that model saying it was junk.

Hey everyone

So I’ve been working on my local area using CoMaps updating old locations, putting them in the right place ETC.

However I’ve had the problem of an issue being resolved not once but several times? I know it sounds weird but I fixed the location of a local post office easy it was down the road of where it should have been. I put it in the right place and it’s done I got the confirmation and checked and it’s corrected. However last night I got not one not two but 4 emails saying the issue was resolved my another user who said there was nothing mapped there which is correct as the issue was already resolved and moved. Was my report not closed on open maps after it was fixed? And why did I get a email 4 times? I’m not sure if this is a CoMaps or an open street maps issue.

Anyways if anyone knows what could be causing this please let me know

Hey y’all I’m struggling at Jellyfin (again)

A few months ago I tried setting up one using a chrome book running Linux mint and had no luck. I’m trying again on my windows PC and I still have no luck. I have read 10 guides and had no luck. I am sure I am using the correct IP, my port is correct, my firewall has the rule to allow the port. What’s going on and how do I fix it? Thanks for any help
