Florida Congressman: The decision to sanction Israel is disgusting. British businesses will be blacklisted in the US. We will be fine. That tiny little island will not

Yeah, don't worry about us, we are almost done already. We keep paving over every square inch of greenery and turning it into concrete hellscapes, then wondering why its floodin g every time we get a normal summer rain. Also our elected officials are just ignoring everyone and putting in data centers and flock cameras to line their own pockets. Oh, and one of our elected officials just called someone a "fucking idiot" on a hot mic a week ago, so we know what they think of us. North Port, Florida, if anyone is interested.

Are we likely to see another large-scare exodus to the Threadiverse as reddit begins rolling out age-verification worldwide?

Brother, early reddit was a fucking war zone lol. I swear, I learned more grammar from outright shame than I ever did in school.

Yeah, they finally just killed r/all completely, which is why I'm here. I fucking hate how reddit became this corporate cesspool. It used to be just a regular cesspool with some content I liked.

Honestly, this is such a fucking privileged take that it hurts. How do you expect people to get to work? I cannot bike 25 miles to work in 107F heat. I will literally die. I fully support making cities completely walkable, and making public transportation make more sense. I also can see that tons of GOOD people only own cars because they have to. Cyclists, however, always seem to have a stick up their ass while also unapologetically breaking every road rule as they cry about car people. I think at least half of the times I've collided with something while skateboarding, its been a bicycle. I dont automatically assume that every cyclist is a bad person, even though my anecdotal evidence seems to support it.

I completely agree. I have no artistic skill whatsoever, but I restore vintage cars. Sometimes I need to visualize for the customer how a car is going to look in a certain color, or with different wheels, etc. AI has been SUPER useful for that, because it takes a few minutes to generate an approximation that gets the point across. I cant have an artist on call to just do these things on the fly, nor can I wait for them when the customer is visiting for a half hour or so. Sure its a niche thing, but has been incredibly useful to me the last few years.

Centrist bullshit

I mean, the last few elections were proof enough. They put up safe (for them) candidates and barely even try to do anything more than be "not trump". Its infuriating when people preach at me about how great Kamala was going to be and that nobody voted for her out of sexism/racism. I voted for her, but the pre-election was handled like shit and the lack of a primary turned off WAY more voters than they want to admit. The right wingers are constantly calling the democrats communists, and then the democrats respond by selecting their candidate without anyone's input. They just play into the narrative and reap the rewards while trying to keep the illusion of a moral high ground.

I drive 25 miles to work because I cant afford to move closer. Closer would mean property values skyrocketing and quadrupled rent. I have a very specialized skill set and these jobs do not exist everywhere, but unfortunately I'm also not making six figures. There is also basically no public transit in my state, city or not. Hard to believe if all you've known is big city privilege, but there's a whole world of people like me and your utopian fantasy cant work for us unless someone foots the bill.
Maybe instead of attacking people who drive cars, you could focus that energy on the giant corporate polluters who are the ACTUAL cause of our climate crisis and show absolutely no signs of letting up. I think youd be surprised to learn that you and I probably agree on what needs to be done, and yet here you are angry at me for some bullshit that makes no difference in the bigger picture.

My biggest concern is what it'll do if theres an actual emergency and the driver has had a few beers. I dont live near a large hospital, and EMS takes a while, as do the police. Imagine if someone goes to a party and doesn't plan on driving, but they need to escape a bad situation. I just can't see this being implemented correctly.
