If anyone is s curious, I work in that industry, and that is why it is so regulated. A lot of things have to go wrong for any single person’s mistake to matter. We test the heck out of aircraft. Some of these tests are absurd, but they’re meant to prove that the code still works even if the plane flies through the twilight zone.

I mean, this may get downvoted, but trees are just trying to live, not fix the climate. They are a very real part of the solution, but I’m fine with considering ‘supplements’.

I understand. When my Win10 PC was approaching End Of Life, I switched to Linux instead of buying a new computer. I’m fairly familiar with Linux since all my servers are Debian, and it’s been great. I tried three distros and they all were unstable due to my hardware. When I asked what I should do, I was told I should buy a new computer that was compatible with Linux. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’m using Ubuntu now on that computer, and it’s more stable, but I’ve still had to use a boot drive to roll back TimeShift after a hard crash.

As someone already said, you forgot Gen X. When I ask someone to open a command/terminal window, they have no clue what I’m talking about.

I have to agree. I love Linux. I’m using it for all of my servers and it works great. I recently tried to switch my daily use computer from Windows 10 to Linux, and it’s not gone well. I’m on my 5th install and third disto. I’ve been told it’s a hardware compatibility issue, but if I need to buy a new computer to run Linux, I’m in the same boat as switching to Windows 11.
