Cats vs dogs
I had to rush my cat to the emergency vet because he ate a small dried starfish and it got stuck in his throat.
Don't discount the stupidity of cats.

Are transgender sports bans really about protecting women? Survey data tells a different story
Just look at all the easier, cheaper, and more effective things they could be doing to protect women that they are NOT doing, and that'll give you the answer.

Sometimes you can, but it requires a crazy dedication to something like 5 hours every day on a road bike. Not something a lot of people are willing or even capable of doing. It's way easier to just NOT eat that burger.

Wolves roam into Finnish villages after Google destroys 1,300 acres of forest for AI data centers — forest where wolf packs used to live is now an expanse of mud

The government sold them the land, it's not like they thought Google was going to turn it in to a nature preserve. They knew exactly what Google was planning on doing with it, and it didn't involve keeping the trees.

What is this "work" you speak of?
It's about responsibility. The master doesn't blame a bad tool if they get a bad result. They blame themselves for using a bad tool. Or in some cases, the person or system that forces them to use a bad tool.

There are certain basic questions that should be asked when a company known for building massive data centers and employee campuses suddenly offers to buy over 1000 acres of forest land. The first that comes to mind is "what are you going to do with it?". But that's just me I guess.

‘Pure arrogance’: anger in Finland as Google illegally fells 250,000 trees for datacentre
I'm curious what Finland thought Google was going to do with the 815 acres of forest they sold them? Like, there was zero chance Google bought it in order to keep it a forest. It sounds to me like Finland failed here too and can't pass it all off on Google.

All digital technology is already just a layer on top of analog technology. Analog is inescapable.

How come manufacturers use base 10 units when calculating the space of a hard drive? Giving you 931GB per TB Hard Drive. Why not advertise the number windows reads?
Marketing. They can advertise higher numbers than they practically deliver.

It sounds like the government knew exactly what was going to happen with the land and approved if of it.
