Studio makeup is on a whole different level. If you saw an actor in stage makeup you would swear they are wearing a mask. It's designed to look good under harsh lighting. Btw Kate Mulgrew has a face full of freckles.
Back in the day (17th, 18th century) there were so abundant they just washed up on shore and were used as cheap food for the poor, servants and prisoners. Things changed when lobsters were transported inland with trains.
It used to be considered such a ‘trash food’ fit only for the pathetically poor that there were actually servant employment contracts that limited the amount of lobster the Master of the House was allowed to feed his staff.
Now, that’s largely independent of the taste, mind you. It was more that the Victorians considered any bottom-feeder seafood to be nigh unfit for eating.
TBH I'm not super knowledgable about makeup, but the look on the left side, or something more or less like it, is pretty common in like celebrity spaces, porn etc., and it definitely wasn't quite like this 20 years ago. Maralago face is one variant, but the general style seems broader than that to me.
Did not know Maralago face was a thing, but I know exactly what you mean.
My (ultra-MAGA) father won't shut up about how "drop dead gorgeous" Melania Trump is....but when i look at her, she looks like she's made of plastic.
Not to necessarily knock the look; it must work for some people, and if that's how you prefer to look, don't let me shit on your day. That said, it's not for me and I'm glad my partner prefers a more au natural look.
The left picture is a pretty good example. I don't know any of the terminology but it seems to revolve around trying to make it look like they have maralago face. Just ends up looking unnatural to me.
For a complete stranger, you seem to think you've got me all figured out. While we're throwing accusations around, you come across as really defensive and needlessly confrontational.
Velma will post “Nobody cares what makes your dick hard.” and “I’m lying in bed thinking about women” in the same thread. You’re not the problem right now.
Edit: Sorry, it was “Can confirm, I am also thinking about the waitress with big tits while laying in bed.”
People like you do more harm than good for the cause you're fighting for. You are a living caricature of what actual incels use to justify their rotten worldview.
Just commenting because I recently told her about the same - this was not a single blunder, this is how she is.
But once you recognize the username, you also realize there's the wisdom/balance missing that people usually get when becoming adults. She might be 80 for all I know, but I haven't seen a single comment that wouldn't fit for a teenager.
Lol, I'm not disavowing feminism. Your comments won't change the mind of anyone who already had an egalitarian mindset - but in aggregate lots of comments like yours push away people on the fence, and entrench those who are already in a bad place.
If a woman made an equivalent comment about the before and after shots of a guy getting in shape or something it would rightfully not draw any ire. Jumping down the throat of every guy who expresses their preferences about women is not going to win us any allies.
Who said anything about changing anyone's minds? She's merely pointing out that blunderworld's comment is still objectifying women. The up/downvote ratio says a lot about the Lemmy crowd that they should be ashamed of.
If a woman had made an identical comment about a dude posting with/without makeup photos it wouldn't have drawn any ire.
It wasn't objectification. He never insinuated that her looks were all that mattered, or that she wasn't a unique snowflake of a person - he simply mentioned his own preference about makeup.
I don't have an inherent responsibility to be the nicest, most kind woman ever in order to get people to understand and support feminism and women's rights. I'm a person on the internet with strong opinions. That's it.
If you want to believe that a single feminist killjoy on the internet is solely responsible for winning allies in the fight for women's rights, that's on you. I'm just pissed off at the audacity of people commenting on women as if they're objects to be dolled up (or not) to look nice for men.
Believe it or not, women are allowed to be angry. And I don't care what y'all think.
No, you don't have any responsibility per se, but you should know your comments come off more misandrist than feminist, and actively harm the cause. You are the embodiment of the shrieking feminazi strawman that incels joke about - and I'm not convinced you aren't a larping incel trying to push their conspiracy that feminism = man-hating.
If you took one look at my post history, you'd know I'm not a larping incel. I don't push that feminism = man hating.
I'm allowed my opinions same as any other anonymous person on the internet. Again, if my comments are enough to put someone off of feminism, they were never supportive of women's rights to begin with.
i mean the makeup sucks, frankly. I don't understand why it has become normal to dip your head in a bucket of concealer..
Feels like the equivalent of guys who think more muscle == more betterer until they just look like balloon animals.
It's not to look attractive, it is so you can have fun looking the way you want. That goes for both situations. A side consequence is if you focus on looking how you want, you will attract people who like you the way you look when you feel your best.
Part of it is she's authentically smiling and joyful without the makeup instead of doing that forced neutral "Paris Hilton" kind of look with the make-up.
Turns out when people are happy and in a good mood they're more attractive. Who knew?
My husband just said, "If you think the one on the right is not an attractive woman, maybe you're gay. Like, you should just be looking for dudes."
Maybe she's not your exact type, but surely we can all agree that she very much fits the bill for what a large majority of people would traditionally consider pretty.
I am personally not a fan of the highly-made-up trend, so I do think that she's more attractive without the makeup. But I also understand why people like wearing makeup, and it's her right to do it or not depending on her mood. I think anyone who can't tell that she's wearing makeup in the photo on the left is (a) lying or (b) a child.
You do realise you're not winning 'good man' points by saying stuff like this, right? You're literally just adding to the misogyny here by further objectifying women.
I am getting so tired of the internet lately. I appreciate seeing you around but idk how you still have the will to talk to any of these people, the toxicity of these men is starting to feel like I'm stewing in poison.
Speaking up when I see casual sexism like this helps heal the years of my life when I was taught to be quiet and allow “boys to be boys”.
It’s really understandable how people get sick of seeing this type of toxicity. I hope your day has more good, funny, quirky, weird, and fun things pop up instead of gestures at this thread
They're not of the correctly gendering crowd, ergo their use of "female" is inherently derogatory. That's the point. It's not the word, per se, but the sub-cultural use of it.
That post is like some precision engineered engagement bait. There are multiple axes of conflict that ensnare people in the mood to argue or share their opinions.
Sadly, people do believe this. These are the same assholes that go off on women for wearing bras and then expecting all tits to be naturally porn-star perky.
Their real goal, under the ragebait, is to create and then normalize an ‘ideal woman’ template that’s nigh-unattainable and then punish every woman who doesn’t fit the mold. A demand, if you will, that every woman perform and dress up just for their eyes, with a side effect of disenfranchising and controlling women as the cherry on top.
Not really, she just isn’t posing in the second picture. You can see her dimple is still impressed and her eyes slightly closed like she’s trying to suppress a smile.
I'm just riffing on the big ol' smile she has on the right. Just to be clear, I think anyone should wear what feels right to them, though I do feel a little wary of societal pressure when it comes to makeup
Fucking dumbasses. And she's beautiful in both pics. But holy hell you have to be stupid to not know that the first one is wearing makeup. What next, someone shocked my lips aren't naturally dark red or black?
Is she not wearing makeup on both photos? The left is obvious because no one has a face like that, but on the right, that skin tone looks way too uniform to be anyone's natural skin.
Men can't tell the difference between actual no-makeup and a no-makeup-look. Ask my husband. We've been working on his ability to tell the difference. 😂
I can spot even a little concealer or foundation in person but phone cameras apply so many filters I would never make a guess based off a selfie. That could be makeup, could be portrait mode.
This image is compressed to hell. It's impossible to tell. We have very little detail to go off of. It's, at minimum, little makeup. It could be zero makeup, and it could also be edited. There's really just not enough to go off of
I don't think I've ever seen commentary like this offered up by a guy who actually stood even the slightest chance of actually having sex with whatever woman he's complaining about.
Jeremy looks like the sort of guy who thinks the waitress is coming on to him because she smiled and called him "hon."
I'm convinced these people don't actually like women. Sounds weird typing that out, but you'd have to be an absolute fool to not understand the context around make up in society and what attractive looks like.
If the guy can't tell that the left one isn't all natural, he seriously needs to get his eyes checked and stop playing games or watching movies that suggest otherwise.
To extend the tiniest bit of charity to him, those games and movies are part of the problem. Sure, some women like to feel pretty, but if every woman looks perfectly styled all the time in the middle of an apocalypse, their contouring and eye-shadow as immaculate when waking up as it was when they went to sleep with it, I can kinda get how someone who rarely interacts with women comes away with the impression that's what women typically look like.
Of course, "rarely interacts with women" is hardly a compliment (and using the term "females" sure isn't helping his case).
Friendly reminder that on X, the everything app with Super Grok, posts can be monetized. So it's all fabricated shit mixed with stupidity to maximize engagement.
The left hand image looks fake. Mainly because the ceiling has major water stains like she's in an abandoned building! But yeah, it's all about the money.
Totally. Check out contouring. And, if there's a beauty school near you, they might have cheap make up appointments where you can watch what they use and how they do it while you get glammed up. They're students so they take their time, makes it easy to follow.
Menchildren are really experts at blaming women for anything and everything, including not understanding basics like "people look a bit different with make up, which is the point".
Conservatives will show you two pictures of a conventionally attractive person looking conventionally attractive, and then caption it some bs like "the age of men has fallen."
The post seems like a retort to something some woman might have posted, saying something like, "If he doesn't tell you he's poor, when hitting on you, that's sexual assault.". There are quite a few to and fro comments like this visible in those spaces.
Not sure how well that would match the definition of trolling, but the template usually is:
Side A: Says something that people call correct.
Side B: Says something that people call absurd, but then realise how that correlates to what Side A previously said. This make people realise the absurdity of what Side A said.
This template has quite a few similarities to little witty fable-like stories that were available in children's books, which ended up helping children develop some level of critical thinking while also being entertaining.
Continue reading for an example story that might not be fun to read, because I am not a very good writer...
The king was once walking around his kingdom's streets when he overheard a drunk guy boasting off how he can stay neck-deep in lake water the whole night in winter.
The next day, the guy was summoned to court and offered treasure on the condition that he would do the same.
The guy went to the said lake and stayed there the whole night and came back the next day to receive his reward.
When the king asked, how he managed the feat, the guy said that he looked at the burning lamps in the temple on the other side of the lake and got heat from it all night.
The king then went on saying that the guy had cheated and proceeded to not give the treasure.
A few days later, the court jester invited the king to dinner at his house. When the king arrived, the jester said that the food was not ready yet and would take some while.
After a few hours of waiting the king went into the kitchen to find the jester. The jester had hung the pot off of a high tree branch in the backyard and had a bonfire under the tree.
Looking at the vertical distance between the pot and the fire, the king had the obvious response of telling the jester how it would be impossible to cook the food with that method, to which the jester responded by saying that it should be possible considering how the guy in the winter lake managed to get heat from a temple 100s of metres away.
Right woman very pretty. Me agree too. Makeup patriarchy.
Anyway.
Left makeup gives me latent ivanka trump vibes which I find pretty weird. It's like makeup or not changed her from loosely Eastern European 28 to 22 from the midwest. If it's real, it is crazy what you can do with makeup effects!
Left makeup says "Trying very hard to appear affluent" which I find to be 100% soul deleting. The people who habitually appear like that are the people who surrendered their humanity for wealth, or they are the possessions of same.
She looks like an actual person in the right photo.
Next they’ll say that women wearing pads of any kind (bra, shoulder, whatever else), heels, and does anything to style their hair is sexual assault. Maybe wearing jewelry or dressing up in nice clothes counts too? Or deodorant, perfume, body lotions?
Ooooh. This is the “barefoot and pregnant” trope from back in the day, just made to look nicer (kinda like a “makeup” of sorts to appear different).
He has the tone of a guy trying to pull a political Uno-reverse gotcha... but I can't actually tell what the fuck he's trying to draw an allusion to?
Like, is this supposed to be an equivalent of "woman decides she doesn't want sex, persuing it anyway is sexual assault"? Is that supposed to be similar in any way? Is it supposed to be... something about Trans people? Somehow? I'm just not sure what he's even going for...
There was a thing a while ago about how men who lied about who they were to get laid, namely pick-up artists, were committing sexual assault. The manosphere responded with stuff like this, suggesting that women who wore make-up, spanx and padded bras were also committing assault.
Oh! Okay that seems like a much tighter connection.
And, like, I don't agree with the manosphere 99% of the time... but in this case sleeping with a person who said they were a CEO or whatever but actually they drive Uber doesn't sound like sexual assault to me, so maybe this broken clock was right today. It feels like maybe one thing a bad person said in a TikTok once and just blew up as rage bait.
I mean, don't lie about condoms or vasectomies or sexual health obviously, but other things don't seem sexually relevant to me.
I think I'm missing something here. What is he actually implying? I'm assuming it some dog whistle to a community I'm not a part of, so someone please enlighten?
Nah - I don't think it's any sort of dog whistle. It's more in the nature of sour grapes. It's an incel thing - they fantasize about proactively refusing to have sex with women who would never be willing to have sex with them in the first place
Probably transphobia since this is how men talk about trans women "tricking" them and not "disclosing". They're constantly worrying about beautiful women tricking them with their attractiveness 🙄
Yes, but also some of them are just mad that women sometimes wear makeup that heavily impacts appearance and isn't obvious to those who are both blind and oblivious.
In addition to the other answers this is probably the kind of guy who either commits sexual assault or fantasizes about committing sexual assault. Typical incel.
i'm trying to read what the tweet says but all i can see is "i have the driest, loneliest dick on the planet and i want to make it everyone else's problem." anyone else having this issue?
A lot of modern makeup styles are more about creating a dramatic visage than a youthful one. Youthful (teen) faces look more rounded than faces well into adulthood.
Makes sense. I know modern styles partly descend from drag, particularly the use of contouring. And yeah more angular looks can make one appear thinner, which seems to be part of the goal.
Tbh I really like that the trend of makeup has been moving from "look young" towards "look striking", and only partly because I personally prefer to wear a bold eye and dark lip combo
I will say that I had an Instagram for a minute and was sort of enjoying it. Something changed the algorithm and I watched a bunch of makeup commercials for contouring.
I was absolutely fascinated and decided that this was the secret spy stuff of mission impossible which, of course, led me to Berlin spy stuff and the thing .
So what about a guy with a sock stuffed in his pants? If a woman has sex with that guy, and his dick isn't as big as he advertised, is that sexual assault?
Really? I thought it was funny that on a comment about a guy objectifying a woman that a bunch of guys are somehow objectifying her further in an attempt to virtue signal how cool they are with a natural look.
Seems like your problem isn't objectifying women, it's men. Which is fine, but don't act like you're taking some morally superior position, you're just a basic misandrist.
Yes. I stand by both comments. That you don’t understand that one is in response to derogatory comments about women’s bodies and the other is making a joke that doesnt punch down on women is telling.
When a guy says that, it’s presumptuous and annoying. Women aren’t concerned with his thoughts on what looks best on women. No one gives a fuck what he prefers women to look like.
The comment punching down is the one comparing women’s large breasts to cows milk glands.
When a guy says that, it’s presumptuous and annoying. Women aren’t concerned with his thoughts on what looks best on women. No one gives a fuck what he prefers women to look like.
This gendered language is what I'm talking about. The gender of the objectifier isn't what determines whether or not objectification happened. The implication of your sentence as structured is that it's a problem because a man did it. It's a problem either way and we shouldn't excuse objectification of women just because internalized misogyny made it so the patriarchal gaze came from a woman.
Look you're obviously EXCELLENT with rhetoric and well versed in feminism. Good on you. We need more of that around here. I'm just suggesting you explore your thoughts a little deeper because your inner misandry dilutes your arguments and weakens the effectiveness of your fight.
Or ignore me, I'm just calling out what I see like you are.
Whoever's addressing women like that is clearly ragebaiting. Stop giving these morons attention. This is not content meant for manosphere, it's meant to ragebait all young women. If this makes your blood boil you are the freaking target audience. Stop playing in their games.
My bad I didn't see the community. This one was making rounds on every social media platform and it got really infuriating. But yeah perfect fit for this community lol.
sadly kinda happened to me :(
i paid a "model" $15k to travel and see me for few days+tickets+hotel#s+gifts++ all in her bank already. first day I was shocked when she cleaned her face. I kept looking and could not fuckin believe it was the same person had I not seen her wash her face in front of me.. the 2nd day I left. and off course i kept it in and never reported it to the police
Edit: The last sentence in my comment was a joke at OP. lol ... the downvotes
no. it was snap-beauty-filter level of makeup. for solid 15 minutes I looked around thinking.. she called her friend? that's another girl? she was a pro, and it was gg.
im late 40s, never married and no kids... not my first rodeo. It was generous and fair from me.
the initial offer was to stay a week. plus she travelling from her country and from far city. , and she was also kind. but 3rd day I thanked her and left.. no bad feelings.
I'm not that rich, and I'm someone who yearly spends 10x that amount on charity that take care of many kids without parents. I cannot take this trash called money to my grave. Your comment was about me losing money on escorts. No, the most beautiful money I "lost" was to help people in need and I kinda changed their life to the better.
You don't have to be rich to be generous. I'm literally the poorest in my family and all people around me.
I've dealt with billionares all my life. they are the ugliest people on earth. they either hoard money or exploit people with it. what do you want me to do knowing i have no more than 30 yrs at best left here. no one in my family needs it. I dont need more than $200k on myself a year max.
I dont know how old you are, but I hope you understand.
oh ... sex toy? you exploit people? is that how you treat women? or did you want me to give her nothing? and how old do think she is? what is her profession? do you think all escorts or sex workers are bad people? why is this lady in particular agreed to do such arrangment? did I degrade her? how is managing her life? am I in a relationship cheating? is she in relation? does she have kids? do I have kids? does she have a job? why did I give her $15k on top of all travel expenses and treated her well and thanked her and left without asking for a penny back if I only spent 1 night when the arragment was almost for a week? how did I withdraw myself did I insult her face and leave, or what? was she into me at all? who put this consual arrangment in first place? what was your communication beforehand and afterward? does she do this with other men? how much does she charge? what did we do together and did I treat her like a sex toy like you said or even expected such thing? did I force myself on her?
I want to see you try to guess and answer to every question I put up. You see, you can assume 1 million stupid thing and make your own narrative.
You will realize how easily wrong you can be. I don't have to prove to you anything, and you don't have to assume the worst out of people. Same applies to you btw. Even if you tell me about your life, age, relationships, I cannot assume things to start comparing you to my worst conceptions, or reflecting the worst image into your life to assume who you are. Just stop. Or really answer these questions I put up and give me a good laugh

I prefer the look on the right… I don't really need women to look like a Star Trek character
99% of the time women look prettier without heavy makeup. That's just my opinion that nobody asked for though 🤷♀️
Idk I'm on the fence
Yeah, I was on board until he ruled out Marina Sirtis. Tsk tsk.
Exactly. Denice or Gates? Even Barbara and Gwyneth, with our without the makeup, if I were quite a bit older.
Who the fuck downvoted me I'll fight you these women are all beautiful.
Studio makeup is on a whole different level. If you saw an actor in stage makeup you would swear they are wearing a mask. It's designed to look good under harsh lighting. Btw Kate Mulgrew has a face full of freckles.
I've worked conventions some of these ladies have shown up to.
Yes and they famously go to conventions without putting on any makeup whatsoever.
lol, yeah, but it's a matter of taste.
btw how lucky is jeremy who has obviously never been assaulted and locks himself in his basement every halloween
Jeremy also likely isn't a real person
Neither is the woman depicted.
But if she’s willing to wear a Starfleet uniform…
Right? (meaning yes)
Oh no! Shes beautiful naturally and yassed up!? The fucking horror! My steak, my steak is far too juicy. Oh this lobster! Waiter! Far too much butter!
Lobster is trash food. Full stop.
That's one of the craziest takes I have ever heard ngl. You should take that to c/[email protected]
Back in the day (17th, 18th century) there were so abundant they just washed up on shore and were used as cheap food for the poor, servants and prisoners. Things changed when lobsters were transported inland with trains.
It's not a take. It's literally history. ☝🏼
Know what else tastes like butter & lemon when it's drenched in it?
Yeah. Pretty much everything. 🤢
No u
As a victim of rape, I cannot put into words how insulting this is
Same😡
If you look at the left one and can't tell, that's on you ...
Also, I hate current makeup trends. Uncanny valley type of shit
As someone who doesn't keep up on make up trends, I'm not sure what you mean.
Can you point to any examples?
TBH I'm not super knowledgable about makeup, but the look on the left side, or something more or less like it, is pretty common in like celebrity spaces, porn etc., and it definitely wasn't quite like this 20 years ago. It's lowk one of the most ugly women i have seen, not gonna lie
The left picture is a pretty good example. I don't know any of the terminology but it seems to revolve around trying to make it look like they have maralago face. Just ends up looking unnatural to me.
This argument is stupid either way of course... But I find the picture on the right way more attractive.
Agreed in a 100 % non-objectifying way (as you are as well). Velma can go kick rocks.
"Don't worry, ladies! This incel finds you ugly, but I find you attractive!"
I'm just expressing my opinion, but okay, sure.
You're expressing your opinion just like Jeremy is in the post.
For a complete stranger, you seem to think you've got me all figured out. While we're throwing accusations around, you come across as really defensive and needlessly confrontational.
I'm responding to you doing the exact same thing as the man in the post.
Am I though?
Velma will post “Nobody cares what makes your dick hard.” and “I’m lying in bed thinking about women” in the same thread. You’re not the problem right now.
Edit: Sorry, it was “Can confirm, I am also thinking about the waitress with big tits while laying in bed.”

You are. Jeremy is objectifying this woman and so are you. It's not about what is more attractive to men.
Not really, since the entire point is that “Jeremy” calls it SA
Did you just compare recognition of beauty to fucking rape? Do you have any clue how unhinged you sound?
Did Jeremy rape that woman? No? Then I didn't compare it to rape.
People like you do more harm than good for the cause you're fighting for. You are a living caricature of what actual incels use to justify their rotten worldview.
She imitates the TV show with the same name.

I am crazy or is she not way more attractive without the makeup?
i mean the makeup sucks, frankly.

It's almost liberating to realize that beauty is not the same as attractiveness.
Someone can look below average, but have a shining, friendly personality that makes them attractive as hell!
No matter the gender, either- I'm not a particularly handsome man, but I can tell you that sparking joy works.
My husband just said, "If you think the one on the right is not an attractive woman, maybe you're gay. Like, you should just be looking for dudes."

Attractiveness is subjective.
This is true. Attractiveeness is also mathematical. Symmetry and having average facial structures also play a role too.
Not crazy.. She is way more attractive w/o the makeup.
Came here to say this. Upvote wasn't enough.
Women usually are.
You do realise you're not winning 'good man' points by saying stuff like this, right? You're literally just adding to the misogyny here by further objectifying women.
Very few people in this thread are capable of understanding that offering judgment on this woman’s appearance is still objectifying her.
Left looks like generic vapid bimbo, like what you would get if you typed 'vapid bimbo' in gen AI.
Right looks like a person.
The makeup makes her ugly.
calling the woman a female is a telltale sign its an incel.
Maybe it's cultural, but "woman" can sound "old" to some people, and "girl" can sound "young".
Some guys think its respectful to sidestep the whole issue and use an age neutral term, unaware of how it sounds.
From my personal experience, those who aims to be respectful just say woman.
Yes, exactly.
I'm telling you as a matter of fact that I know people who felt awkward saying "woman" because of the age factor.
These guys aren't incels by any means, they're just awkward and naive.
For what it's worth I did tell them that "female" is not a good look, and they should use "women" instead.
The point is not every guy who says "female" is an incel.
I'm so glad these losers use "female". I don't have to waste time taking them seriously.
Which makes the impact of the whole "sexual assault" tirade slightly less impacting, right. Still insulting.
How is it not specific enough and what is this current environment?
Every time I hear someone refer to a woman as a female that person is invariably some kind of incel loser.
I know everyone's sick of me saying it but that dude is probably a low-key transphobe.
Most incels are. They hate women and trans women are women.
Bingo. Transphobia allows them to exert misogyny on an "acceptable" target while also policing femininity in a broader sense.
I highkenuinely support your endeavors to point righteous fingers
Could be. Answering the clarifying questions I asked might clear that up.
"woman" is the term you are looking for. Doesn't have to be any more specific than that unless you're a fucking doctor
🤨
They're not of the correctly gendering crowd, ergo their use of "female" is inherently derogatory. That's the point. It's not the word, per se, but the sub-cultural use of it.
The fuck are you talking about?
That post is like some precision engineered engagement bait. There are multiple axes of conflict that ensnare people in the mood to argue or share their opinions.
Right? And it cares not whether right or left! Pefect, truly!
How can this be anything other than rage bait when the woman on the right is so pretty and the language is so gross and offensive?
Sadly, people do believe this. These are the same assholes that go off on women for wearing bras and then expecting all tits to be naturally porn-star perky.
Their real goal, under the ragebait, is to create and then normalize an ‘ideal woman’ template that’s nigh-unattainable and then punish every woman who doesn’t fit the mold. A demand, if you will, that every woman perform and dress up just for their eyes, with a side effect of disenfranchising and controlling women as the cherry on top.
This is a really interesting response.
Then add in the fact that if whoever wrote this saw any woman out in public without makeup he would then complain about that.
These people have nothing except their persecution complex.
She looks way better without makeup
She looks good when she feels good, actually
She does look happier without it
Not really, she just isn’t posing in the second picture. You can see her dimple is still impressed and her eyes slightly closed like she’s trying to suppress a smile.
She’s clearly joyful in both images
I'm having trouble telling it on account of the makeup but I think she should probably decide which herself.
Who says wearing makup doesn't make her feel good?
I'm just riffing on the big ol' smile she has on the right. Just to be clear, I think anyone should wear what feels right to them, though I do feel a little wary of societal pressure when it comes to makeup
Fair, fair. Makeup is really just paint colors that are skin safe at the end of the day.
actually theyre often not skin safe
That's not something we can confirm as objective observers, though. We are not omniscient.
she’s wearing makeup on the right
Minimally, perhaps.
for sure foundation, her skin tone is super even
possibly eye liner and lip liner based on color
the image quality is meh so it is also possibly just compression artifacts
She's making different expressions, which is a big confounding factor.
Let me guess, you're one of those guys who runs around telling women to "smile more".
Not that I could be bothered but apart from the advice being unsolicited, what's wrong with it?
Who gives a fuck?
Butthurt men, apparently.
Noooboddyyy asked youuu ✨️
Is this what you say whenever someone voices their opinion?
You must be fun at the parties you aren't invited to.
It’s what should be said when men offer their unwanted opinions about a woman’s looks.
And what about when women offer unwanted opinions about a man's looks?
The same thing. That’s not happening in this thread though.
What's wrong with offering an unsolicited positive opinion about someone's looks?
It’s still objectification.
Y’all are sitting around and talking about how she should present herself to be the most attractive to you.
Could just be a phone's camera deciding people should have perfect skin
This image is compressed to hell. It's impossible to tell. We have very little detail to go off of. It's, at minimum, little makeup. It could be zero makeup, and it could also be edited. There's really just not enough to go off of
Damn I hate it when I get seduced by women wearing makeup, it's the worst thing ever, I hope it doesn't happen this weekend.
Why else, throughout history, have women been blamed just for being attractive?
"No, I raped you! It's your fault for being sexy!"
I don't think I've ever seen commentary like this offered up by a guy who actually stood even the slightest chance of actually having sex with whatever woman he's complaining about.
Jeremy looks like the sort of guy who thinks the waitress is coming on to him because she smiled and called him "hon."
I'd be disappointed if I was expecting the woman on the right and the one on the left showed up, but not enough to call it sexual assault, that's wild
Quick, someone post the Ferengi!
I don't know what I'm doing.
that's on me, i wasn't specific enough
Another example of "Everyone is twelve now."
Yeah kiddo, I know you're surprised women look different when we put on makeup. You're twelve!
I wonder if he still feels deceived by peekaboo
“If men find out we can shapeshift they are going to tell the church”
I'm convinced these people don't actually like women. Sounds weird typing that out, but you'd have to be an absolute fool to not understand the context around make up in society and what attractive looks like.
Ragebait gobshites. What they say is irrelevant so long as they get attention (like and subscribe, everyone). It's all for money.
"Doesn't disclose up front"?
It's not a crime for women to take off their makeup.
What would even be the charge? Emotional assault on a fragile male ego?
Friendly reminder that on X, the everything app with Super Grok, posts can be monetized. So it's all fabricated shit mixed with stupidity to maximize engagement.
The left hand image looks fake. Mainly because the ceiling has major water stains like she's in an abandoned building! But yeah, it's all about the money.
No judgement, but she looks happier on the right.
Also my condolences to Jeremy's hand.
The left is definitely posing though
women pretty 🥺
It really reaches a new level of bullshit in this post when you find out that men wore make-up but it just went out of fashion.
I'd like to try out some make up styles that could enhance my masculine facial features, just to see what it looks like. Is that a thing?
Totally. Check out contouring. And, if there's a beauty school near you, they might have cheap make up appointments where you can watch what they use and how they do it while you get glammed up. They're students so they take their time, makes it easy to follow.
They still wear tons of makeup, especially right wing ones like this guy
become a femboy
Menchildren are really experts at blaming women for anything and everything, including not understanding basics like "people look a bit different with make up, which is the point".
she’s gorgeous in both?
The makeup version looks hideous to me but that is my personal opinion. Very overdone.
I think she looks even prettier in the right photo Idk what the problem is
Conservatives will show you two pictures of a conventionally attractive person looking conventionally attractive, and then caption it some bs like "the age of men has fallen."
So you can't tell she's wearing a makeup?
The post seems like a retort to something some woman might have posted, saying something like, "If he doesn't tell you he's poor, when hitting on you, that's sexual assault.". There are quite a few to and fro comments like this visible in those spaces.
I don't know "those spaces," but that seems like trolling to me.
Idk why this dude has such a strong opinion like he's ever going to make sexual contact with a woman.
This is why I can't talk to most men for more than a minute.
You telling me I can date a shapeshifter that is beautiful in all versions? Don't threaten me with a good time!
For the uninformed: this is a direct response to a post saying that obtaining sex by deception is sexual assault. Which, y'know, it is.
No, makeup doesnt fucking count you unmitigated arsehole.
DLSS 5 ON vs OFF lol
More like DLSS 5 OFF vs ON
If you're saying she looks better without, yea, I agree
Next they’ll say that women wearing pads of any kind (bra, shoulder, whatever else), heels, and does anything to style their hair is sexual assault. Maybe wearing jewelry or dressing up in nice clothes counts too? Or deodorant, perfume, body lotions?
Ooooh. This is the “barefoot and pregnant” trope from back in the day, just made to look nicer (kinda like a “makeup” of sorts to appear different).
incels need to be stopped
Well, it's not like they're reproducing. Just give it a few years.
sadly it wont work like that
they wont have children and raise incels, but tw*tter will still raise incels from others' children
incelism is a social-media-borne disease to which people raised to be bigots are susceptible
Sadly, you're right. They reproduce asexually, like slime molds, and nuns.
imagining a tw*tter incel mitosis-ing
or giving birth to a miniature clone of itself
These kinds of
poststweets (yes, there's a LOT) piss me off because the woman always looks better without makeupEdit: pre-amptively going to correct to "without" makeup, because i'm told you can never tell for sure
I think the main point they usually miss is that women don't wear make-up to attract them, or anyone. Make-up is fun.
To you
And why should women care what you think when they're putting on makeup?
TIL thanks.
"Trans women refusing to disclose is sexual assault" is something these idiots obsess about and say so yeah probably.
Dude definitely has the "never woke up next to a woman the morning after" kind of energy...
Guarantee there's A LOT of overlap there.
True, I wouldn't know for sure as that type will harass me no matter what I do lol
In addition to the other answers this is probably the kind of guy who either commits sexual assault or fantasizes about committing sexual assault. Typical incel.
This is typical behaviour from incels.
This sums up my opinion of the manosphere...
What a wild way to say you've never been with a woman before
I love the part where he feels like I need to remember that, for reasons or something
i'm trying to read what the tweet says but all i can see is "i have the driest, loneliest dick on the planet and i want to make it everyone else's problem." anyone else having this issue?
Not gonna lie...I'd take either one. Different type different vibe.
I can't imagine that this is controversial. The OP doesn't make any sense to me.
Agreed...both are beautiful in how she wants to present herself.
Why does she look older with the makeup? Shouldn't it work the other way around? She looks 30 something on the left and a teenager on the right.
Young women and girls use make-up to make themselves look older all the time.
A lot of modern makeup styles are more about creating a dramatic visage than a youthful one. Youthful (teen) faces look more rounded than faces well into adulthood.
1920's makeup was the opposite. Every body was trying to be round.
Alright Jeremy
Oh...yeah...that right pic is horrid. I'd be willing to take one for the team, though.
So she looks great without makeup, what's the problem?
I greatly prefer her WITHOUT the make-up. I would talk to the girl on the right, I wouldn't bother with the one on the left.
Jeremy Stamper has never been seduced.
This has to be satire, right? Right??
I just don't like tasting all that makeup when I lick them =/
:3
With or without makeup she still isn't going to fuck you, Jeremy.
Huh?
So what about a guy with a sock stuffed in his pants? If a woman has sex with that guy, and his dick isn't as big as he advertised, is that sexual assault?
It's interesting when men use posts like this to announce what they personally find attractive in the comments. That's not the point.
Really? I thought it was funny that on a comment about a guy objectifying a woman that a bunch of guys are somehow objectifying her further in an attempt to virtue signal how cool they are with a natural look.
"It's ok, ladies! Even if this incel doesn't find you hot, I still find you hot!"
This you in the same thread?
“Nobody cares what makes your dick hard.” https://lemmy.world/post/50398336/25177012
"Can confirm, I am also thinking about the waitress with big tits while laying in bed.” https://lemmy.world/post/50398336/25171603
Seems like your problem isn't objectifying women, it's men. Which is fine, but don't act like you're taking some morally superior position, you're just a basic misandrist.
I think you need to stop before you continue embarrassing yourself.
Yes. I stand by both comments. That you don’t understand that one is in response to derogatory comments about women’s bodies and the other is making a joke that doesnt punch down on women is telling.
It's not objectifying women when you reduce them to "big tits", but when a guy says "She's attractive without makeup" that's "punching down"!
It's annoying and presumptuous. That woman isn't thinking about what y'all think of her makeup every morning.
That's different than a comment about what I'm thinking about in response to a meme.
Again, it's telling that you can't tell the difference.
Editing your comment after I’ve replied is shady.
When a guy says that, it’s presumptuous and annoying. Women aren’t concerned with his thoughts on what looks best on women. No one gives a fuck what he prefers women to look like.
The comment punching down is the one comparing women’s large breasts to cows milk glands.
My fucking god rage bait travels at light speed.
Whoever's addressing women like that is clearly ragebaiting. Stop giving these morons attention. This is not content meant for manosphere, it's meant to ragebait all young women. If this makes your blood boil you are the freaking target audience. Stop playing in their games.
I thought it was a funny sentence.
My bad I didn't see the community. This one was making rounds on every social media platform and it got really infuriating. But yeah perfect fit for this community lol.
All good. We don't need to rage, we can laugh, too.
sadly kinda happened to me :(
i paid a "model" $15k to travel and see me for few days+tickets+hotel#s+gifts++ all in her bank already. first day I was shocked when she cleaned her face. I kept looking and could not fuckin believe it was the same person had I not seen her wash her face in front of me.. the 2nd day I left. and off course i kept it in and never reported it to the police
Edit: The last sentence in my comment was a joke at OP. lol ... the downvotes
It's not the last sentence that's getting you the downvotes, champ.
people assume a lot of bad things without context. It's okay
You expected her to wear makeup the entire time over a few days?
no. it was snap-beauty-filter level of makeup. for solid 15 minutes I looked around thinking.. she called her friend? that's another girl? she was a pro, and it was gg.
Thanks for confirming you've never been within the vicinity of a woman before that.
For $15k I will trick us both about everything, you still rich or just dumb now?
im late 40s, never married and no kids... not my first rodeo.
$150,000 a year for charity but not rich. Does the $ mean Taiwanese dollars or something?
You don't have to be rich to be generous. I'm literally the poorest in my family and all people around me.
I've dealt with billionares all my life. they are the ugliest people on earth. they either hoard money or exploit people with it. what do you want me to do knowing i have no more than 30 yrs at best left here. no one in my family needs it. I dont need more than $200k on myself a year max.
I dont know how old you are, but I hope you understand.
Like paying $15k and expecting a woman to be your sex toy?
oh ... sex toy? you exploit people? is that how you treat women? or did you want me to give her nothing? and how old do think she is? what is her profession? do you think all escorts or sex workers are bad people? why is this lady in particular agreed to do such arrangment? did I degrade her? how is managing her life? am I in a relationship cheating? is she in relation? does she have kids? do I have kids? does she have a job? why did I give her $15k on top of all travel expenses and treated her well and thanked her and left without asking for a penny back if I only spent 1 night when the arragment was almost for a week? how did I withdraw myself did I insult her face and leave, or what? was she into me at all? who put this consual arrangment in first place? what was your communication beforehand and afterward? does she do this with other men? how much does she charge? what did we do together and did I treat her like a sex toy like you said or even expected such thing? did I force myself on her?
I want to see you try to guess and answer to every question I put up. You see, you can assume 1 million stupid thing and make your own narrative.
You will realize how easily wrong you can be. I don't have to prove to you anything, and you don't have to assume the worst out of people. Same applies to you btw. Even if you tell me about your life, age, relationships, I cannot assume things to start comparing you to my worst conceptions, or reflecting the worst image into your life to assume who you are. Just stop. Or really answer these questions I put up and give me a good laugh
You left as soon as she exhibited agency by washing her makeup off.
I support sex workers. I don’t support people who use them as objects.
You’re just paying to raise the next generation of your trafficked women.
i meet 40+ . I cant remember the last time i talked to someone younger.
huh
