The Call - Modern Romans, released in 1983. Full LP.

Dip into this. EVERY track is.. well.. You'll find out.

The entire LP was heavily political, and Michael Been leaned heavily into religious metaphor for many of the tracks on this album. Angry and righteous and given the times today - as the French say, "Plus ça change, plus ça reste le même.."

Also, Garth Hudson, the keyboard player for The Band played on this LP.

Enjoy!

The Realest Shitpost Out Here In A While..

Super cold in the Northeast US..

Plumber removed a backroom sink a few months ago.. A sink that tapped directly into a blackwater line under a toilet. Apparently, one of the days - or overnights most likely - when the temp went well below zero farenheits.. the drain line under the floorboards froze and the inevitable happened.

I got to clean it up.

Oh, the joys of being the "property-manager/fixit girl" (that literally lives around the block) for a small business.

Welp, at least I'm the least disposable in the company, as when shit like this happens, no one else wants to tackle it, so I suppose that's good...

FML.

Rassilon, Omega and that Other Guy..

One of the best compendia of Who lore online. Been reading the site almost as long as it's been up and the Time Lord history pages are mind-boggling.

Everything is sourced and the red, orange and yellow text is pretty much the "official" canon (as much as it can be, given how many decades and writers have been involved with the program..) and it's LONG.

Brew up a cuppa, get comfy and settle in and enjoy!

taneggs·Tan Eggsbyfoodandart

What is best budget way to safely remove the tan egg (without hurting it - it's adorable but I want it gone, regardless) that is a guest in my home.

It's a cute - really is - field mouse that came in this past summer (I think as that is the only time I keep windows open) and it's been roaming around the apartment.

It disappears for a few days at a time - perhaps visiting other units? Not sure. When I see it and it sees me seeing it, it zooms back under the cabinets. Am keeping my food well out of reach and the kitchen spotless so it's got no reason to stick around.

What's the comms ideas for the best, safest trap to catch and release - preferable something I can make with household items.

Much thanks to anyone with ideas!

Edited to add: Addndum, Jan 10th, 2026.. I set out a bucket trap and the tan egg never re-apeared.

So either it got back out, died or on one of its other visits to a different part of the building, it fell into a trap.

Dunno. Haven't seen it in weeks.

My Cast Iron Cookware!

I've seen a lot of statements made all over the internet and in how-to guides in weekly newspapers and the like, on how to best deal with cast iron skillets..

So here's my own, the large Griswold skillet and the smaller, unknown make, egg pan came from my grandparents - they cooked for decades on them and in fact the egg pan is one of the "old" pieces my grandmother got from HER grandmother.

They were cleaned with a stainless steel scouring pads for as long as I can remember, and we're talking early 1970's. I use stainless steel Chore Boys on them. The mid-sized Griswold saucier pan, is one I found at a yard sale some 30 years ago.. It was black with the baked-on acrylamides and it's almost finally scrubbed clean of all that nasty black gunk.

It's kind of the reason why I'm not that famous on Lodge pans - they've got that texture to them that catches the baked on seasoning and it's hard to get super clean.

I season - just wash, dry and wipe with coconut oil and bake for 45 minutes or so at 350 degrees, every 6 months.

I store them in my oven proper, with a light coat of coconut oil on them. All three are close to mirror smooth from being steel polished for decades and with a light amount of cooking oil (usually coconut) seldom does food stick.

Eurythmics - 1984 (For the Love of Big Brother) (1984 release) - Full LP

One of the more underrated Eurythmics albums. Was overlooked at the time it was released as it was a film soundtrack and contains instrumentals, (so that kinda made it less a "real" Eurythmics album than a non-soundtrack record, which is bullshit but there it was) and a few of the tracks like Julia and For the Love of Big Brother are hauntng examples of the range that Annie Lennox has. The track Sexcrime got modest radio airplay, but the rest of the songs were ignored, which was a shame.

Enjoy!

I think I'm getting good with the base building in NMS.

Am really satisfied with the ideas I'm coming up with. I did the Atlas Path and the Artemis Quest and got to the center of the galaxty and to Hilbert Dimension.

Now I'm in full creative mode, seeing what ideas I can come up with.

Would love to share. Are there any other Travellers out here that may want to visit my creations and give me some feedback?

The only glitch building I do is with the colors, not scale, as I'm using an xbox controller on my PC.

I do have the full collection of parts since I am using Goatfungus's Save File Editor and got all the QS goodies.

Two Fingers (Amon Tobin) - Seesayer

This is one of my all-time favorite artists.

Amon Tobin. He's scary good and approaches sound like a chef approaches flavors and textures. Sometimes crunchy, sometimes sweet. Always delicious

Yes, his music is an acquired taste, and he releases under many different names depending on the music.

Two Fingers is his club-mix music persona..

Enjoy!
