Ya snooze ya lose!

I don’t know that I would choose it for my own kitchen but I also wouldn’t feel a need to change them. It almost reminds me of a cigar shop or something. Very warm and welcoming even if a bit dark. I bet they would grow on me pretty quick and I like non cookie cutter stuff generally. More importantly though, I think you did a great job. I get how it goes tho, I’ve remodeled and installed cabinets and counters in a couple kitchens and it can get frustrating and almost impossible to not notice or remember every mistake or area that you feel you would do better or different next time. Looks awesome. I’d love to see a wider shot from farther away but also understand if that’s not easily feasible. Great job and thank you for sharing!

All the time, right? Drafty AF. Looks like you've done some floors. NGL, even though they're a pita, I love the original window. I remember as a kid being fascinated with the rope-pulley mechanism (no idea what that's actually called). I love the shiplap. And I know of the issues, but arsenic-treated lumber lasts a long time. I'm glad you're okay with it and hope you can stay on top of repairs. Thank you for good memories of a home overflowing with kinfolk, good, homegrown and home-cooked food, always too much to do and realizing it enough to sit on the porch and do nothing, when needed.

Just a tip, buy another sealed pint of the stain for repairs. You'd be surprised how often lowes will discontinue wood stains or change suppliers all together. It's also a lot harder for them to match a stain than it is for them to match paint.

Depending on what you use to seal it, you're bound to get damage to the sealer and stain eventually. I have a kitchen bar that I made, you would be surprised how much damage you can do over time. I've tried a couple different seals on it over the years, they all have their ups and downs. In the end I think a French Polish with shellac is really nice for the kitchen mainly because it's easy to repair.
